with 3 medium mining lasers you get ~28 seconds out of a class 6A WEP engineered PD, and 10 seconds downtime (recharging). you can drill any asteroids with just recharging once. with a charged enhanced PD you get ~24 seconds firing the mining lasers, and 8 seconds downtime. large content asteroids might need 2 times recharging the PD - the second time just a bit. that's at least my experience plus looking to the coriolis numbers assuming a best roll. and for me the reason to ue my g5 charge enhanced materials on ships which really win from it :) i'm not sure whether i'd go for the three mining lasers on a t9, though. maybe you are better off with stripping the asteroid in one go once you have positioned the t9 (which is probably the most challenging part)... i don't see you turning and firing prospectors fast...

from my mining clipper i would say, you can run 3 medium mining lasers, but not sustained... still you can use the spare time to fire prospectors or micro manage the refinery. you are good with 10 collectors in that case. t9 has the best bridge in the game, which is a valid reason to run it as a miner. the industrial design adds to the flavour. other ships are better miners, but if you don't like them ... i run a mining corvette. wonderfull! but definetly nothing i'd rank for on my second or third account.

as there are quite some players active on both pc and one or even two of the two consoles, i don't think your assessment makes sense (so neither fair nor unfair ... logically ex falso sequitur quodlibet (EFQ))

    - you can scan the satellites :-) - one of the medical installations has salomes legacy as an audio log, which you can access via the ships data link scanner

    - your nav panel (left hand) should show "unidentified signal source" and you can target it there - check your filters in left hand panel, if unidentified signal sources do not show up there

you will either have to equalise after the conflicts cooldown, or - as there is only one starport to catch - push to ~65% for a system control conflict (be wry of the controlling faction not getting into a conflict elsewhere or with somebody else)

I appreciate your feedback and completely understand your point, perhaps indefinite diplomatic status would be too much. However..... when there are ~50,0000 players or more (my estimate - please correct if you have more accurate numbers) using Mobius, then FD are clearly failing to meet a huge demand from the player base. The private group mechanism can't cope with this volume of players hence the need to split Mobius into several groups. Edit - BTW, congratulations to the Winged Hussars on consistently being top of one of my Player Faction league tables!

the commodity description of meta-alloys in the commodity market points to the pleiades as well as various galnet articles. but yeah. generally, all things ingame have been found originally before a third party site had a guide on it. most of it group effort, some luck.

Yep, so PVE players can enjoy open, and can see all of their friends (and make new ones), and not be restricted to 'friends from the Americas' or 'friends from EurAsia' which is currently an unfortunate side effect of the 20k size limit on Mobius private groups

goemon replied to a thread Fer-de-Lance Back to the Drawing Board in Ships of Elite
build looks rather solid (besides as above: booster instead of ecm and bi-weave). my fdl doesn't even have bulkheads. may i suggest, instead of going back to the drawing board, going back to an eagle for a while? it's what i do if i get lazy piloting. the eagle isn't fast, so you have to think ahead, and it can't tank. it needs pips management and lateral and vertical thruster management. once you are good with it (again), the FDL will feel like godmode.

There is clearly a huge demand for a PVE only option. The current option employed by many thousands of players is to join one of the Mobius private groups. Because of the popularity of PVE play style, Mobius groups frequently have to be reorganised because they exceed the 20,000 player limit. There are multiple Mobius groups now to accommodate the demand, 3 on PC/MAC, and groups on XBOX and PS4. I think it is high time FD implemented a PVE option as part of the main game so we can all play IN OPEN without fear of being ‘griefed’. People who enjoy PVP should be allowed to carry on of course, it is a perfectly fine style of play. I have come up with a proposal below that I think would allow this, and would be lore consistent. TL;DR Player can claim protected 'diplomatic status' by accepting a special diplomatic courier mission, status remains until cancelled by player, can only be reactivated by accepting another diplomatic mission 'diplomatic status' prevents weapons operating when another player...

instead of getting better engineering rolls, unlocking the last of 20 engineers, or ... whatever ... i spent some time on my third account. when the alien bases were found it hit me that i want the possibility to look at such stuff while we are out. my secondary account has no horizons (got it over a year back for some pew-pew when out exploring, good challege now to jump into unengineered ships while being ranked dangerous!), the commanders pack was on sale, so --- i started fresh, with the idea not to fire a single shot. 25 game hours later i'm sitting harmless in a cobra mkIII, which jumps further than the first AspE i took to sag a*, the sidey got the god roll FSD i wished for on my main acoount and has enhanced performance thrusters, and i have an amazing turbulence paintjob t-6 --- such great ships, all three! i remembered just vaguely that i loved the t6 back then, and i love it again. i think i'm sorted. back to supergiants! :)

yeah, something like this. per instance. per docking. per system visit... as there are stations where you can fly from one to the other in real space, all kind of strange things might be possible ... but i have only tested "per trip".

goemon replied to a thread Eagle Mk. II Anyone made a good eagle build? in Ships of Elite
i'm running my eagle with 3 engineered MCs (one incendiary, one corrosive) to come around the small powerdistributor. love the manouverability and the strong lateral/vertical thrusters - there is no ship beating the eagle at that.

picking up on "not too vulnerable" - speed provides most safety in ED if you don't insist shooting back. which is why a cobra mkIII (440 m/s boost speed unengineered - fastest ship in the game before engineering) is probably the better tool for your job (rare trading) as well as a t6 with a-class thrusters (406 m/s boost speed). fit an a-class powerdistributor for perma-boost. a keelback is slow.

i'm don't see how you can create more transactions without using different commodities? after all the 1t-trading-bug was fixed?
