Go to the crash sites, positions on the Front Page, you can scoop them from there.

I'd say the scavengers have been sent from an active base, to get stuff from these inactive/derelict ones.

Awesome news, great job Frontier. Also a massive, round of applause to the team responsible for that trailer, it's brilliant! I don't know Stormy they give you what you want and you still want more :p

You sir are a legend and a genius :) I had actually remembered when the visitedstars cache was first put in Howard explained how the information could be gathered and put into a file to be imported. One of the 2 external things I use is EDDiscovery and Finwen has automated the process you have just described, there is an option in there to create an export file of visited systems and it outputs it into the correct folder with the right name. I just opened the game and it added over 11.5k systems to my Visited Systems list :D The only thing neither of them will do (I believe, certainly the EDDiscovery way won't) is to import systems from the early days when you had to have verbose logging in your AppConfig file, which is annoyingly stripped out every time there's an update to the game! I did mention it to Howard and he said they'd add a note to try and get the path changed for future Beta releases so they don't use the same file. If QA could make a note of that too it would be great!

Sorry I must have missed the part where you said how you know that Frontier don't track player movement. It's worth pointing out that it was Steve's idea as I did mention in my first post, though not as detailed. Shame you don't like fun though, because the "guy wearing a wig" was hilarious! No it's not the same issue, how do you plan to hand in your tracked movements to a CG? How do tie in tracked movements to actually scanning certain types of objects, or how many objects within a certain system? As Furrycat said CGs rely on actively handing things in, whether that's by selling commodities, cartographic data, or materials/data to a contact. Your derision and dismissal does you no favours, so sorry no hug yet :)

I'm a bit gutted you haven't replied to this to be honest. I had an idea what it might be and Dav confirmed my fears when I spoke to him at Lavecon (caveat of he said he wasn't 100% sure). It would appear as though clearing my save in the Beta has actually wiped my visitedstarcache file... If this is the case then you really need to look at this to make sure it doesn't happen at the next Beta, while I try and work out how on Earth I'm going to repopulate it, if indeed it's even possible!

The lack of streaming was intentional I imagine as they have no idea what kind of colourful language may be used in the questions :p Actually they did answer quite a few question. Sandy was a bit self conscious as most of the questions especially near the start were for him and he felt like he was monopolising them. I think he may have actually only said "No ETAs, no guarantees" 3 or 4 times :D At Lavecon it does seem that most of the things are suggestions and requests, rather than direct questions about things in the game currently. There were a few Powerplay questions, a couple of PvP ones and a piracy one. Some of them Sandy thought were interesting ideas and something to look into more. I imagine the Lave Radio team will do a round up at some point as I'm sure they would have been taking notes. The main reason I don't remember them all is that I was 5th in the queue for questions and stood right in front of one of the speakers and Sandy's mic was really loud :D Oh and the...

So, what you're saying is that Chris Roberts was lying when he said it had been in development for a year at that point.

I don't know how on earth you got that from what I wrote, but you've completely got that wrong. In fact I don't think you understand how the game works. Fortunately Furrycat and Alec have already pointed that out :D

I'll tell you the question I asked Steve. I asked about whether there had been any progress on the development of exploration CGs. Roughly (as my memory is slightly hazy). The biggest problem with having CG's that say go and scan this specific system is that you can only scan a system once. The biggest problem with saying go and scan Neutron Stars for example, is that there's a finite amount and as of the previous point, once you've scanned one you have to go further and further out, diminishing returns becomes a big problem. The upshot is that most of the ideas you think of initially would actually punish those who are explorers by their nature and so have scanned a lot of objects. They are looking at different ways that this could be circumvented, whether that is by having a secondary scan data for objects that is only valid as part of a CG, or some other means is not entirely clear yet. But Steve is actively looking at improving not only exploration CGs, but extra variety of normal CGs. ...

Nope, sorry, I still don't buy the whole "we're only abusive because we love the game" argument (not you personally, I know you're constructive in your criticism). The problem is that people assume because they're not being told what they want to hear that it means there's no plans going on behind the scenes, but you really cannot expect any company, especially in this industry, to talk openly about all of their plans for the future and what their current development is. Not only in case things change, but also so other companies aren't sure of what they're doing. We all know that communication has never been Frontier's strong point, but just look at how much has changed over the last couple of years, they do a much better job now and I am happy with the level because I don't expect them to ever have a fully opened window into the inner workings of the company. Seriously? You're actually making that comparison.

A fantastic race, so good to see we managed to nab so many of Frontier to come and have a go as well. Enough thanks cannot be given to Furrycat, Alec and Drakhyr for setting up and maintaining the race over the weekend, they did an amazing job! Who knows how many more runs we could have fitted in if people had of been quicker at setting up their controls :p I may have even got the time to have a second run hehe. I think a special mention does need to go to Stephen Usher, our only DNF, but a DNF with the style and grace of a true Buckyball competitor! He boosted out of the station, hit an NPC, said NPC blew up and the station took it's revenge. We salute you sir o7

Very well said sir. The ideas and plans they were prepared to discuss alone shows how much continued work there is going on and the teases when they would suddenly stop halfway through saying something, hints at so much more. Every single member of the Frontier team who was at Lavecon was so generous with their time, as they always are. The fact they even turn up to a community created and run event speaks volumes about them in of itself. But the levels they go to, to entertain and inform... Well, I certainly cannot think of any other company that would even dream of it!

Its the bigest regret my character has and I use it as a driving force. The worst thing I ever did maybe as ''me'' was killing a hudson powerplayer who was in a hauler. its part of the rules , its part of the game but I felt after. but RP wise its the same as any other job
