Lots and lots of those! Got to collect them all! It's a dynamic and fluid gaming environment - Space Chariot Fidelity JPEG Collector 0.01A - even when you buy the jpeg and can cuddle and pet it, it doesn't always reflect what you'll end up with in the Space Chariot Immersion Simulator Pre-3.0. It becomes a nuanced PvP zero-player game that operates on multiple levels with a near-infinite range of complex gameplay possibilities and end-game counterplay. Using the Freelancer as an example, my original jpeg has horrifically mutat, erm, lovingly crafted itself into quite a different beast. What I originally thought I had purchased, and indeed was originally able to view and interact with in the Fidelity Chamber, now requires further Content Accessibility Share Holding (CASH for short) in order to get all the shooty and explody bits I originally had. That's where the deep PvP content comes into play. Do I embrace the inner struggle with nerved jpegs, or do I execute "Good Move" and counter with CASH, or...

Any chance the VFX team will work on new death animations for 3.0? I put down 18 varieties here, a long ways back: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/17978-18-ways-to-die-varied-ship-death-FX

'All of them?' 'Yes.' 'How can it be ALL of them?' 'DNA doesn't lie Carl.' 'I know these missions have me away a lot but no way all six of my kids aren't mine.' 'Ok, how many black folks do you have in your ancestry?' 'None that I'm aware of. But as Sarah said, it was dark when Alice was conceived.' 'And Jamie? How do you explain that?' 'I didn't say there wasn't any Labrador in my ancestry! Next thing you'll be telling me that Polly doesn't look like me, huh? Don't listen to him darling.' 'Polly wants a cracker!'

The station commander held up a holoplate with text scrolling down its high resolution display. “Can you confirm this is your bar bill?” the station commander asked. The pilot considered denying it, but saw his retinal scan confirming his extended credit. He nodded. “And this,” noted the station commander, holding up another holoplate of a Cobra Mk3 with a gouge down its port side, “is your ship after you introduced it to the toast rack this morning?” The pilot nodded again.

That's just it - I don't anyone is really against CIG or Genuine Roberts, and we would like to see Star Citizen become an actual released, working, successful, enjoyable Space Game. Sure - we fill lulzbuckets with CIG's antics and gawp in a peculiar mixture of amazement, horror, disbelief, and purest wotthefuttery - purely because many of us are actual developers, programmers, network engineers, graphics designers, hardware architects, etc - professionals with decades of experience in the various fields that CIG are working in to try and deliver their product. We're not going "pooh! That's a silly thing to do!" just because it's fun saying it, or because we are trying to wish some apocalyptic event upon CIG - it's simply because many of the things they attempt to implement or even fit into the Vision are, well, simply silly things to do. The reason so many things CIG are proud to say "never have been done before" have simply not been done before because they simply don't work.

Unfortunately, unless Gamescon goes absolutely brilliantly for CIG and they have something really impressive to show off that keeps existing backers happy, and convinces new backers to sign up, Genuine Roberts may be out of the industry just as soon as the funds dry up. This is, I think, the last chance for him - and he's gambled everything on this venture. If it fails (like so many previous projects) then I don't see him picking up the pieces and trying again. If CIG tanks, there won't be any pieces left. 3.0 may not be here, and if it does eventually arrive in the completely underwhelming form I think they may be able to put together - we'll probably realise they are only 50% toward where they should have been in 2014, and there's another six years of development still to go to get to where we should be today.

I'll pin my colours to the mast and say it'll be an Ok game that'll be soon forgotten. To exercise my point, without looking it up, how many rollercoaster games have Frontier made since they released Elite Dangerous? Exactly. Jurassic Whatever will be mediocre at best and soon forgotten after the film's release ... until Jurassic Whatever 2: The Cash Grab. This would have worked better as an expansion to Planet Coaster.

It's you not giving Frontier any credibility.
