I would have liked to see bans as well, but this is excellent news. I hope the purge was very thorough.

Engineering team has checked in another update to the sheet this morning. Little past the halfway mark now. I should have an updated list quite soon on rejections / declined minor faction applications.

Rep for puppy. Since I am not in a Private Group because of safety and I'm far away from the Bubble 99.9 % of the time, and I don't want to mode switch every time I wanna take a picture, this has no effect on me :)

Since I'm not allowed to sing in Bran's thread I'll depart some wisdom from the great Hank Williams. Your cheatin' heart Will make you weep You'll cry and cry And try to sleep But sleep won't come The whole night through Your cheatin' heart will tell on you...

I am afraid I live behind the moon (which is quite central in 3303 I guess, but not so much 2017) and while I know that there was an exploit and what it is related to, I still have no idea what happened and how it exactly worked. So, after it is finally fixed (I think?) - what is all this fuzz about? What exactly was the issue? And - most importantly - is there the slightest possibility that somebody (me, for example) incidentally used it and now lost the engineer upgrades? If all this was already explained at length (which is quite possible), I would appreciate a link to the related thread or - if it was mentioned in this long thread - a rough post number. Thank you from a player who currently lives in a self-imposed ED (game and mostly forum) abstinence. (Well, it's mainly due to the whether, so not completely self-imposed, I guess.)

PvP for those that want it, not for those that don't.... .... in this game that does not require players to engage in PvP.

One roll, 42%. Didn't even reroll after the bonus went to 50%. 37LY is plenty. That's how Dilbert rolls.

No, won't be doing anything of the sorts. Going to close this as this thread will end up in bad places rapidly.

Disagree. Completely unnecessary. This is between FD and the customer. edit: those silly enough to make themselves known are fair game of course.

It's FD's responsibility there are no bugs in the game. It's the player's responsibility to not abuse a bug if it leads to a cheat. Second, FD is not silently removing modules, those who are affected get a message, and there is an FD forum post about this, outlining their criteria complete with examples. edit: oh right, quadruple ninja'd. Don't go get a coffee in the middle of a post.

I know only one benefit, that Chuck Tingle book (ya'all know the one I mean). :D Were it not for Brexit I'd have probably not even heard of him and seen his genius political novels. It's a tiny sliver of a silver lining around a great big black cloud of doom but nevertheless it is a benefit of sorts.

He used chemical weapons on the Kurdish people (something Saddam Hussein was castigated for) and also used tanks against UK citizens in Scotland. He is only considered a hero because, in the UK, UK history is largely taught patriotically, not matter-of-factually. WW2 is a tale of good vs evil, not of a massive bloodbath of young men who otherwise might have been friends slaughtering each other, and a race of people nearly wiped out, all because a few people used populism to instill a supremacist/nationalist ideology within a European population. I can see yet another irony there... Agreed. What is extremely ironic is how little most people here actually know about WW2. To most I've spoken to, WW2 is a tale of the plucky Brits hanging on until the tide turned, the squeemish Americans delaying to help, and "the few" in the spitfires which were never flown by Polish pilots... I'm not entirely sure there were concessions. As I said, this project has been going on since 2013 and is part of a project...

Punishment for the crime. If all they did was remove the cheats, then there would still be incentive to cheat. A temporary benefit with no downside is still a net benefit. Frontier's choice was very mild imo. No one was banned. They got to keep their unrelated mods. That's extremely generous.

Lol, yup. PvP should be a lot more satisfying now that things are a little cleaner! Though there is still plenty of imba stats left in the game. Progress is happening :)

I loved the hauler too. For my folly, i have all its paint jobs. Pity that even space taxiing has been taken away from it by ship transfers. Wouldn't it be nice if there were sub-outpost starports that only had small pads, limited by demand volume but giving high margin, making you into the overpriced mobile shop in space? Or if there was a way to have lower running costs on a non-combat ship, so that they would higher credits/hr at any size class than a multirole or combat-fitted vessel?

Not disagreeing, hey. Just clarifying, as your take on the situation isn't shared by a lot of people who believe the modifications in this case actually break the limits on blueprints. That's overselling it a bit. I personally think frontier should probably have sorted this out, quickly and quietly after it was first reported, but then hindsight is pretty good like that. Instead, it festered and grew a life of it's own and provided an avenue for a lot of hate. That bit? I reckon we could do with a little less of that. YMMV. As you were. :)

Aye, question for you. Just started playing this game, and saw this video of yours: https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=72&v=7txixfOI0tE

I'm actually at this exact black hole, but I'm unable to get it to distort it as much as you. Any tips?
