    It *always* was about same instancing system. Never had been any different. Those magic Germans are mostly doing Planetside stuff which gives you *illusion* of many players being at same place. At this point 24 players in same instance for SC is just not good enough. When you can get same result with peer to peer.

    Conflicts: a. Same governemt type > Election (also for Dictatorships! Anarchies will always have war) b. Different gov. type, local factions > Civil war c. Different gov. type, at least one foregin faction > War 1. Yes, states are across every system a faction is present in. There can only be one active conflict. Conflicts are loca, but have global effect, check local news. 2. A coflict has to be out of cooldown, before you can trigger a new conflict. It does not matter what conflict is in cooldown. 3. Yes, same influence triggers a conflict. 3% needed to win a civil war (3% for election, 5% for war). 4. Once pending it WILL go active after the countdown! You can already start supporting your faction, this will help to win the conflict easier. 5. Victor always gets the most valuable asset: Orbital Station > Planetary Port > Orbital Outpost > Planetary Settlement

    Good advices there! As for defensive weapons: Add mines with Ion Disruptor (reboots drives) and Reverberating Cascade (hits shield generator) as experimental effect. It does not have to be a grade 5 mod, grade 1 materials are easy to mass and you can use favor to get the experimental effect.

    Yeah. For me it is truly a bummer that FD won't roll these updates any time soon - because of way their development works which I will admit appears slow to me and might cause some disappointment, although I have luxury of understanding complexities behind all it - but yeah, when next galaxy visual update comes, it will be feast for eyes.

    Yup, I agree too. Let some guy just be surprised with "Right On Commander!" and in the message following it says "You have been awarded a XYZ decal as a token of recognition for your achievement". Then we'll suddenly get a spate of players doing crazy things like diving into binary stars, or slamming full speed into a station wall in a tricked-out, engineered 800m/s drive ship, just to see if they'll unlock a decal :D

    Sure, you didn't have problems, Other had plenty. Not really. Michael said yes, *One* of reasons why change appeared that before that planets were coloured by more primitive methods. They added more complex material system to rendering - this by the way made ships look way cooler than they were. However, there was snafu with color scheme. Way code was designed was to be effective, and thus fast (it is rendering after all). Turned out this method has side effect everybody complains on this thread. And turns out more visually better looking method might have impact on performance so much that it might require to remove DX10 support for example. It is all speculations, but you really guys don't get how complex software is really and how dependencies in such game impact one element or another, thus making very hard to 'fix' anything that fundamental within one cycle of update. Talk about changing gears while driving a car.

    People would be angry then that FD didn't give detailed answer. They can't win this round. People think it is easy to fix, something that was done for consoles, etc. They can't accept simple answer that developers wanted to make game better, screwed it up, and now have to design and plan completely new, better system to fix side effect they see. That's a life of developer.

    What I gather no show for regular booth is due of FD saving it all for special 2.4 event - similar to ED launch event - which most likely will fully introduce Thargoids, wave goodbye to Horizons and will explain way forward. Which makes sense. Yes, attendance matters, but what matters mostly is media focus and in regular trade shows FD is drown out by other news from other devs.

    ...well this is sounding more & more like a bug. I did a quick look through (on the PC ...may have to check the other platforms) the Bug Reporting forum ....but I didn't see anything like these situations listed in there :( I'll try to see if I can record it if I see this happening again as I can't remember the specifics of when I last saw it that one time. I'd recommend anyone else who sees this to try & get a bug report started so FD has something to work with :) Now back to "fun" errands to do today :(

Also the info was for those that are new & may not be aware of what would make a CG considered a "Success" or "Failure" ;) Notes for when running to your room to show how events have affected you: 1. always slam the door 2. flop on the bed face down 3. let out a wail, scream, &/or sob into a pillow (added dramatic flair) 4. locate a pet or stuffed toy to talk to about how the world just dosen't understand you

    I have sent this only 1 time & it was a few weeks (a month) ago. I was in a WING in a PRIVATE GROUP, & we noticed a System Authority ship seemingly to randomly fire it's Plasma into space ...then my WING mate started taking damage on his Shields from the 1 System Authority Ship ...the others (System Authority ships ...think there was 4 or 6 of them in the RES site) were ignoring us ...but then that System Authority ship said scan complete move along & wandered off. My WING mate never became WANTED & none of the other System Authority ships rushed over to start shooting him when the 1 System Authority ship shot him during it's scan. So we watched it & it did the same thing to anything ship it was scanning it would fire off a Plasma shot during it's scan of a ship it currently in it's target. I never saw it again & I wasn't recording, so I don't have any video to show :(

    They have provided this answer about 10 times now in various places. Stop this nonsense. It's broken, yes, they know reason, yes, it is hard to fix and most likely will be part of bigger refactoring they plan to do anyway.
