That was really quite rousing! Awesome video. Oh, and yeah ... look at you looking around your cockpit ... good innit! (have you tried fliving with it yet?) Edit: intent to race The Wyrm in my Asp Explorer "The Wedding Anniversary"

You may, as long as they start within the hour time frame. You can probably squeeze 3-4 laps into an hour, depending on the course. But after that you have to take a break and re-declare; and this isn't anything like fliving for the same amount of time...it's a constant fight for control. :)

With two entries, we now have a leaderboard! Please ignore the squiggly lines. I'll get those fixed in the next iteration. Also, forgive CMDR Bruski for having taken his beauty shots based on an old version of the instructions.

Now that my first run in the Road Racing Rally is finished, I'm in the process of collecting an epic Blot to the gods. I've loved following this race to far, the rules are a saga unto themselves, and the blots have been most magnificent! Am I right in guessing that the Baldr system is also an acceptable one? Now I'm not saying that "American Gods" (by Neil Gaiman) is a definitive source, but I just finished reading it, and Odin seems pretty big into human sacrifice. Just sayin...

Having finished my first run, I cannot recommend Road Rally Racing enough! Thrilling, nail-biting high-G high-spinout action. Practice is fun, atmosphere is amazing, map-reading is an enjoyable skill, and the courses are confusing pieces of delicious green spaghetti with spicy triangle meatballs. :D Also, driving an SRV in high-G feels like driving a Tesla on ice. Spinning out constantly, donuts and twist and turns all the time. Also subhouse07 is very right, I crashed my AspX entirely to bits when I tried to land on Ross 905 the other day (which wasn't even my first time there!). And yes, wedge hazards are the absolute worst. As are getting wheels stuck in guard rails. I hate the collision mechanics.

As I understand it from reading many posts on the forum. Clean drives only reduce the heat produced from manoeuvring in normal space. Since they have increased power usage compared to dirty, in super cruise dirty run cooler. But not as cool as unmodded unless you get a lucky power reduction secondary on a g1 ish mod. I run g5 DD on my exploration ships with the lowest D class thrusters typically.

Today I have mostly been sacrificing Beer Mats to Norse gods in order to receive a blessing for my upcoming Buckyball Racing endeavours.

Current location: Shinrarta Dezhra Cargo: 0 x Buckyball Beermats Mission: a very special blot Status: End of day #3 - the mission (to toss the beer mats into the heart of a geyser) has been abandoned as, after approx. 5 hrs of searching, I've still not been unable to locate any geyers on Frey 4 C A. I'm now docked at Jameson Memorial so I can outfit an appropriate racing ship (make and model yet to be determined). No doubt the gods will be disappointed that I have failed them but I hope my final blot will at least lessen their displeasure and allow them to think favourably of me when I put my metal to the test in the coming week.

I'm currently in the middle of my first neutron trip to Colonia and enjoying the use of a different mechanic for fast travel. Using the spansh plotter. Thanks to all who have contributed.

Updated the "Science, mystery and lore" section to reflect the fact that Drew Wagar's lore documents are now being hosted on the Canonn Research website. As you wish. ;)

Wow. I've seen plenty with two arms but never one with four before. Nice find! (not quite sure where to put that tho ... might need a new section for "Misc' oddities".

Awesome work ... I'm going to re-post this over on the Buckyball Flight Academy thread so it doesn't get too lost.

I don't think there will be a Norse translation of, "I said Cookiebots, not Boogiebots!"

It appears that the half-term special at Polly's Scandinavian Supply Shack in Nithhogg is flame-grilled eagle. Available in a choice of charred, blackened or ash. Yours for only the cost of a one-way ticket to Ratatosk (plus the downpayment on the loan for a new Eagle).

I was going to post a link to EDTS, which I've never used but I know that a lot (lol) of other BRC cmdrs use, but Cookiehole beat me - nothing new there! ;) If you're playing with the Raikogram in excel anyway though, you can use the solver plugin to solve travelling salesman problems, which is what I normally do. I tend to chuck everything Buckyball related into excel anyway. Just Google for "excel solver travelling salesman". The solver plugin is a part of excel, it's not a third party plugin, you just need to activate it. As most of our races only have four or five stops, and since number of jumps is a smaller number than lightyears, I usually have a go manually first and then check with excel.

Intent to race! Beautiful artwork and nice theme, now I'll only have to decide which class to race in and what ship(s) to choose :D For the battle cry I fear I can't come up with anything meaningful, each time I'm trying to think about it my subconscious just starts screaming "COOOKIES!!!" way too vehemently to allow any other thoughts :p I nearly always use CMDR Alot's EDTS command line tool for route plotting. It has a lot of options and once you have found the correct words to put in the correct places ("python edts -help" is a good place to start) it's very useful for finding out the number of jumps, critical jump ranges and so on. I guess I'm way too impatient for the MKI approach ;)

To be honest, my normal route plotting program is the mkI pen-and-paper approach (well, technically pencil and paper):

It is not bad form to use software to help with route-plotting. I usually write/modify my own custom script when I'm in the mood for it. CMDR Alot had a tool that a bunch of people used, but I'm not sure where to find it anymore.

A great thing about Ratting is that there are lots of suitable ships. Cobras and T6 work well, AspX and DBX are popular. I tend to reserve my Conda for long-range rescues. :)
