You forgot to mention the introduction of digital farts which point my favourite translator app teached me to my surprise the british version of 'fart' is actually 'trump'. What an iconic joke of history! :D

picommander replied to a thread [ED64 - 2.4.01] Black Squares on planet surface in PC & Mac Bug Reports
It's particularly embarrassing if search zones are placed in these black squares. As if the game would put my nose into his most ugly furuncle! Subjectively I find this even more annoying than the beige bug. Don't know whether just bad luck or things have become worse but here are 4 samples from my latest surface scan missions: 3 missions on 2 different planets (same system) and all were affected!

Good to hear you got away with a black eye. Also, quite soothing there's one bug less having to take care about. On that note, thanks for the report! And yes, support seems really great, despite the occasional contrary post. (removed, just realised you already switched off unused modules) This month seems strangely themed for "veterans doing silly noob mistakes"! First Isinona with his fuel incident, me 2 days ago after a short break getting a bit out of practice with the result of a horrible surface crash and reaching home station with 1% hull - and now you. Who is next, please?

Veteran explorers are usually rich Rockefellers! :D It's all about time and exploration data and not even its monetary value in the first place. I'm very interested in the cause of this bug(?) as there's nothing more frustrating as losing your ship far out in the black, especially if it's not your fault (which would be bitter enough). Mengy, did you already get a reaction from support? Btw, I'm a total noob when it comes to fuel limpets. I wonder how much do they affect jump range? (Just have to remind myself how OT this question is as there's currently no way to rescue a stranded SRV)

Awesome. What are they doing there if nobody has to be rescued?

What I forgot: Back when I was at SagA we had no WD highways at this time and I did it with a Cobra with less than 30 Ly jump range. I guess it took me a week or so, while never flew straight to my destination: I just can't leave any Earthlike or other interesting planets untouched, otherwise I would perceive this part of exploration as pure grind, not my cup of tea. So yes, I'm a bit outdated here I guess. But I still admire the dedication of all those friendly fuel rats! :)

For people with apparently too much money I'd recommend a game like Entropia Universe where you can buy an ingame weapon for 50000$. Brave New World...

A rescue mission 14000 LY out in the black, are you sirius? What waiting time would you probably expecting/accepting?

I wouldn't even mind the trippy colors - if NMS only would have halfway interesting flight physics. I found flying "on rails" never that much appealing.. Are you suggesting that I excluded this in the post you've quoted? Show me that part. Or should we rather talk about straw man arguments...

If that was too easy for you, here's a bit more challenging image to spot the quadratic tile (part of it), without arrow this time. ;) Hint: "Smoking gun" is slightly right from the center. Have fun!

The most astonishing fact to me is that he actually does all that without insurance - which I understand as "true ironman mode". Maybe the main reason why his ships aren't heavily engineered... PVP with FA Off (exclusively, not mixed mode!) and ironman. And he's definitely not flying as a coward, something I'd certainly do in his shoes. :o

Just found out that best medicine to cure a burn out is watching a video from Isinona! He's given so much to me and the game. He's still using the same cheap Thrustmaster Hotas-X, wonder if it's still the very same device or a replacement? Just asking cause I tend to break these things way often and too soon...

Apparently. What you are talking about here is what they've announced for Q1 2018: the fix of the beigification which is almost on a level of cosmetics in my book but has nothing to do with what they're aiming for in Q4.

Indeed. I'm not fanboi enough to say they will be able to pull that up but if then I'll be happy without any further content and, if really procedurally generated (instead of a few patterns randomly shuffled around) I'll be happy to play as a tourist for the rest of my life. :)

You don't know what you're talking about. If FD will actually be able to pull up the anticipated changes to planetary surfaces, then calling that "flaff" is either totally ignorant, respectless or simply dense. My concerns are rather if what they are aiming for will be technically possible at all. The limitations implicated by consoles certainly don't help either.

I didn't like the concept from day one, it all smelled too much of a scam to me, too good and too much to be true. Reality seems to support my assessment now each day and on any new report about SC. I'm an old Elite on C64 veteran, but I even didn't like Wing Commander from these times, so I didn't expect anything to my liking from this guy. The better question probably would be "why do I care at all"? To my disadvantage I have to admit it might be the somewhat morbid fascination of watching a traffic accident, coupled with a pint of spitefulness. I still remember one of the very early interviews with David Braben and Chris Roberts. I saw his eyes (CR) and his mimics. My first thought was: This man is lying, so badly that he seems to have a hard time to hold back a maniac laughter. Until now he failed to disprove this initial impression...

Admittedly I don't owe the game (never will) and so in all my naivety I thought the crowdfunding process must be long over by now - after how many years and after how many million dollars raked in? Otherwise I couldn't imagine how people halfway sane in their mind would pay these insane real world ship prices for ships that they even can't use right now (Combo Packs for 10000$, helloooo?). Oh got it, it's still for ongoing crowdfunding purposes. Makes sense, sure...

$45 is even too less - if paid to me for <cough> just playing this "game". Seriously, we've got ships for free at least in ED. That's where the "big bucks" are flowing in SC and you know that. Don't play with your credibility...

by october the 7th Frontier Expo will tell us nice things about ED Hope to be there to see it.
  3. Don't worry, I'm no native English speaker either (I'm German) and if you wouldn't have told me I still wouldn't know. But in the event you've really thought that's my native language, I've just learned to sound like someone who knows what he's talking about.

I agree with you: that's how I too used the rep system. It's nonetheless appreciated as it helps me figuring out if what I had written made any sense to others, especially when I'm so late in a discussion and nobody will risk starting it again... ^^ (if you couldn't tell already, english isn't my first language, so posting something always go with its pack of doubts about whether or not I'm expressing my ideas in a meaningful way to native english speakers)
