I'm jealous of Saud Kruger. Flew Beluga in beta, a bit lush. On the look out for a Dolphin but will pick one up when I happen across. No rush, no worries and Keelback then gets relegated, to refugee type blue collar passengers (if not sold). Got myself into a cash flow problem when I first got into Python myself. Found it tough to earn more than (erm) 'costs' at first. Stabilised now, do intend to get another Asp Scout (which I had to sell) but that one was dedicated to extreme sports (SRV mountain climbing and base jumping challenges) and good for a taxi, to remote systems eg. to where my pirate loadout, DBE is .. ie. far enough away not to bother my local rep (I can be there in about five minutes). ps. the "]monolith

If you've got yourself a Python OP .. then you're sorted; buy an Eagle. Cause havoc in Eagle for ten minutes to an hour play time and literally ONE cargo delivery mission in Python will refund you about ten Eagle rebuys. Go wild with no consequences (apart from rep obviously, though there are ways around that too). Biggest mistake people make in ED imo is assuming you have to have a big ship, that you MUST treat it like a career, when small ships rule and are the acid test for a good pilot.

Outstanding run, CMDR. And what a blaze of glory (and flying ship/body parts) it took to end it all... RIP Iron Man 2014.

I think a rethink related to the relevance of missions in the bgs is important. During war, combat, evacuation and military supply missions should assist your faction in all their systems. Bringing in material and war supplies to the war zone etc. During unrest, similar missions to assist security improvements Boom should spawn lucrative trade The only one that appears to be working is outbreak where medical missions arrive.

No ire. If the rule applies to super powers it something similar should apply to independents too. Otherwise it is skewing results in one direction. based on nothing more than random traffic. My concern is about the players experience. EDIT - The super powers have plenty of tangible BGS effects. Do missions for them and get the most powerful ships in the game is the first that comes to mind.

Got attacked yesterday by an NPC called "Alpha Q", which made me wish I'd thought of that as a ship name. Guaranteed to slide past the filter.

My concern is rather that the ONLY way to combat drops during war is via bounty hunting as suitable combat related missions don't spawn. The reversion back to 2.3 bounty influence will stop superpower bounty vouchers causing as much of a drop but will also hamper the ability to prevent surrounding owned systems to be bolstered during war. The superpower bounty spread should maybe be shared between them but giving them all a boost from 1 hand in at a system they don't own is OUCH. I fully agree that a federal owned system should be strong and benefit from federal bounties but independent owned systems with multiple non asset owning superpower are at a massive disadvantage.

Hello Adam. The majority of player faction are independent. Skewing stuff to the super powers is rail roading the game play and also does not make sense. It's not good for the player communities in general especially those who have set -up independent groups and factions because they have no interest in the super powers and want to create their own narrative. The weight towards super powers is basically turning a sandbox in to a one way street with a super power at the destination for any one interested in being independent and defeats the spirit of free from free play. Well that just my observation from what Ive gathered so far. Thank you for your time. o7 Please roll this bias back. Your virtual pal Ben

Thank you for the feedback. As and when it happens could you let us know which bits have been rolled back. I.e. is it going back to identical to pre 2.3 or is the fix for tanking factions staying and it is just a more subtle change. Keep up the good work. Vingtetun

iEagle ! (For some reason I don't get on well with Vipers) I use mine as an interceptor, with virtually zero jump range and bounty hunt locally, interdicting, going into CZ's and it's a total blast. Of course you have to watch it with keeping rebuy money in the bank but it's such a fun little ship, fast and with the medium hardpoint (and two small ones) a fair upgrade from standard Eagle. I run a medium beam and a pair of heat seeker missile racks which are really satisfying to use. Welcome back Cmdr o7

Did you know : Humour is so difficult to translate, that common advice given trainee translators is for instance when Barak Obama made a joke, the translator may not even try to translate but will say to President Xi (Jinping, China) .. "Mr Obama just said something funny, please laugh". Yup. It's another true story!

Back on topic mind, booted up 2.3.01 on my ridiculous underspec lappy this morning and found a much smoother flight and massively improved experience from 2.3. Finding NPC crew images not loading in crew lounge (will monitor) and a minor audio bug in Commodities, with missing sound effect on tons being added to sell/buy (with hold mouse). Haven't gotten through everything yet but at 2.3 I thought I might have to put ED down for good. Nope, it still runs! (which is still amazing to me).

Showing my ignorance here but I'd always assumed that thing wasn't real, beyond being a full-sized movie prop. I remember watching Damnation Alley and being impressed by the innovative wheel arrangement but thinking that it probably wouldn't survive real-world conditions. The story about the 25ft jump (technically a drop according to the PopSci archive referenced) shows how wrong I was. OT, but +1 for the links.

    Hi Fenris

Thank you very much. I use a site called http://signavatar.com/ to randomly display 1 of around 14 sigs.

A lot of the artwork is adapted from what I could find, (example I didnt draw the cobra in the "leave home" one but cut it from a old wiki pic of oolite).

    Regards

    Cruel

    PS: ALL 14 (1 & 2 are my favorite)
