Some players I'm happy to talk to, others are a waste of space. The blocking feature allows separation of wheat and chaff. Exploration and trading give me more enjoyment than combat does - I play this game my way, you play it yours. Cheers, Phos.

Yes - I paid for a game where I could go anywhere without meeting other human players. People have differing personalities - Open will suit some, PG and Solo will suit others. Having the multiple modes lets Frontier attract as many personality types as possible. Cheers, Phos.

I find dealing with other players boring: I prefer to work on my own. Think Marmite. Cheers, Phos.

im also impressed. I would have been gobsmacked if you managed to get elite trade in a sidewinder.

I think going forward Horizons will be the last season to ever be released, I doubt that we will ever see a season 3 and that all future content will be purchased. for example being able to purchase a planetary landing module and being able to purchase access to engineers for those who don't own horizons. while those who own horizons will purchase a atmosphere module so they can get access to planets with an atmosphere. only guessing.

A Valid question since frontier have changed how the game development will proceed. the only info frontier has given is in the below quote from Zac in another thread. Frontier have already released a road map for 2018 and your current LEP obviously includes what's coming in 2018. Looking into what zak says it sounds like that those who only purchased Horizons will have to purchase premium content, im guessing that squadron mobile bases will be among the first premium content and access to thargoid space being another possible area where players will have to purchase access, I wouldn't be surprised if they add purchases for cmdr save slots. im guessing that premium content wont go down the route of pay to win as that would kill the games userbase. the worrying thing is that Zac only mentions the Beyond series updates which we know is basically the 2018 road map, what happens after that is anyone's guess.

Three things are certain. 1) Death, 2) Taxes, 3) Avoiding PvP when playing in Solo. Cheers, Phos.

You may find PvP exciting. I find it dull and boring. What is entertaining to you can be dull and dreary to others. Don't assume everybody has a similar personality to you - diversity exists and so should the modes. Cheers, Phos.

I find PvP dull and boring. I prefer to work on my own - taking things at my own pace and playing the game the way I enjoy. I've no problem with others engaging in PvP, but I don't want to meet others while in game. Cheers, Phos.

I don't do much other than exploring, mining and trading and I don't support any factions. My influence with the BGS has been minimal, I probably nudge a few commodity prices here and there but nothing is planned. I enjoy the dynamic market and don't complain when a previously profitable trade route has been flattened - I just search out a new route. Nudging prices is different from attacking another player. I play in Solo to ensure I don't meet anyone else - I find PvP boring. I'm playing an economic game, not a fighting game. In real life we might compete for the same job. I could research the company, buff my existing skills and prepare for likely questions. Your chances of getting the job might suffer - but should you be able to seek me out and break my arms to keep me from the interview? No, you have to play the same game as me: you have to work on your interview skills. I expect my interview opponents to prepare to the best of their ability and I wouldn't see that preparation as unfair. Even if...

I'll keep playing Elite: Dangerous from Solo. I enjoy being able to influence the BGS from solo, I enjoy being able to sail past player blockades and trade routes, and I love being able to anonymously affect others without facing PvP. I'm not frightened by PvP, just bored by the idea. I can influence the real world by campaigning in elections - knocking on doors, leafleting, commenting on web sites. You don't have the option to physically attack me there. You can respond by playing the same game as me, perhaps better than I do, but assaults aren't allowed. I can pick the game I play: you can choose to play the same game as me or you can leave me alone. The game design is why I bought Elite. See you in solo, or maybe not. Cheers, Phos.

I'd pay good money to have a Solo Mode in real life. Just because Solo isn't currently a real life option doesn't mean it shouldn't be in a game. Cheers, Phos.

Markets can be influenced by unseen traders in the real world, and not all political campaigning can be pinned down to an individual's actions. You may dislike having unseen hands affect your action: personally I enjoy it, even when it's being done to me. We are playing different games - you either respond to my market influence and political campaigning with market influence and political campaigning, or you grin and bear it. What you can't do is respond to peaceful actions with violence. Cheers, Phos.
