Actually only the feed triggers them, we will check soon if w can do otherwise. As for the HandShake, it's a special badges for events, only CMDR meeting me can have it.

Just as logically, starports could see storage areas as a Security Risk .. What if you fill your lock up with explosives? Or a UA? I don't see anything in the design that signals the OP being, 'deliberately not supported'. Commodity storage has even been mentioned by devs specifically with respect to engineer bases. It is ALL a 'job to do' though, all the things you mention are. None of it falls from the sky, all has to be coded, some of it can affect other people's game (if I blow up a space station you have ships stored in or destroy voyager, once so you can't see it). All of it comes subject to game, architecture and resource priority and (imo) none of it suffers either, if it gets asked for nicely. o7

Maybe combat players' reliance on traders who contribute these AX CG's leads to a different kind of respect .. and trader is seen, less like a clubbable target but valuable, as an ally. Might even be worth escorting and protecting the CG 'unofficially'. It doesn't always have to be about 'money now' does it? Seeing the trade CG through, unlocks weps for later.

You and me both. I'm just a simple mud monkey. (miner.) I enjoy popular science though. So if the OP can explain what the (apparently) 'obvious' reasons are for discounting radon and fluorine say, in language I can understand, even draw me a picture .. I am interested in what the OP has to say. It's fun to read deep theory stuff - and I am interested to do that - but the more accessible to a lay person the better? And if human kind needs me to keep my eyes open in the black, then yes please to extra simple instructions! :D

I am baffled why FD abandoned the real-world livery inspiration for their ship paintjobs, that I saw in their pre-launch concept art. I even opened a thread about this on the Suggestions and Feature Requests forum, that you might want to check. 385631

You know, according to concept art such as this I expected much much cooler paintjobs, with lots of individuality. It started promising, with all that real-world research put into painting schemes. But now the shop is full of uninspired, dull, dreary, samey, meh and garish paintjobs instead of ones we'd (I'd) be dying to use. Take the Asp for example: there's the Pharaoh/Apollo paintjobs that are nice/OK; the rest are passable. There's Expedition/United for the Beluga, Red Serpent for the Cobra, Pathfinder/Fayfarer for the Orca, Turbulence (almost there, failed Chris Foss attempt) for the Type 6, Blackjack for the Viper (community-sourced), and that's it. For most ships there's nothing inspiring to choose from the omnipresent selection of Tactical, Military, Vibrant or Squadron. Nothing with soul and individuality, nothing you'd (I'd) be itching to have on a ship. And it's a missed opportunity, as FDev could be cashing in more dough. So yeah, please go back to find inspiration in real-world livery...

I thought maybe I could postpone galactic invasion by feeding (a normal??) Thargoid, 1 ton Onionhead .. perhaps creating a state of unconditional maņana? Thargoid though, could not be persuaded to take it but maybe even unrefined Painite (still in the asteroid) is more interesting to them. It is to me!

I think the mycoid virus was tested on humans. From Vaccine 2 log (emphasis mine): "They've given us material the weapon has been tested on, both organic and inorganic, human and nonhuman." There is a little doubt as perhaps it was tested only on inorganic human matter. But if that's the case then this was a pretty misleading statement from a scientist who should be in the habit of speaking more precisely.

The Thargoid scout was found due to a bug that revealed navigation markers for all special sites in a system when you scanned one special site (IIRC). That would imply that if there was another wreck in the same system it would probably have been found the same way. So I think the human crash site seen in the trailer is probably in another system.

Yes, I don't like it either. I'd rather that the stuff in the trailers was not in game as it appears in the trailer: that it was just an example of what can be found. I'd also prefer they found some way of varying the individual assets they use to create these sites rather than different bases containing identical models (same applies to the Guardian ruins and the Thargoid wrecks). It bugs me that every INRA sign has identical text and has fallen to an identical angle. It bugs me that the mycoid tanks have the same stains in three different bases. It bugs me that the same break occurs in the same piece of wall of dozens of Guardian ruins. Etc. I'm probably being unrealistic given FDev's size, but I wish they'd found a way to procedurally generate some of this stuff.

I have indeed. My mistake. What I meant was - I accept this is what can happen to me when I play in Open. I still don't want to lose my ship though! Maybe. If that would be the case, then I'd be happy with it. Lack of serious consequence. The consequences are there, but they are not severe enough when it comes to PVP.

Why wouldn't I mind losing a ship I was working 2 years for? I role play Elite and I take it slowly. I play since Premium Beta 2 (July 2014), and with the reset at Gamma stage my total assets are just above 1 billion Creds, with about 150 mil in cash. Of course I do mind losing my ship to a wing of gankers that chose to pick an easy target rather than a matching one, for example a wing of other gankers. Because that's the lore of the game? >> You're actually making sense here. OK, so Pilots Federation should not be bothered. Still, the Superpowers like Empire, Federation and Alliance should care more than PF when it comes to criminality in their territories perhaps?

Hi fella, you wanted a reminder to share your market data dump on Dropbox

    Thanks again,

  9. Missed your post as I was away from Ed and the forums for a few days. Thanks for your kind words. Good to see that I'm not the only one with 'frustation'. Thanks for your trade routes, I will try them, if/when I have the money for them as they are quite expensive iirc. As I said in the OP or later on I'm using slopey's trade tool atm but even that doesn't get me going. Luckily next week on the 24th PB2 will be released with a 3 systems. I guess the market will flatten quit quickly again after that so I MUST play it directly on that evening.

I will start this evening again if I can manage it. I will keep you informed. Thanks for the offer of flying with me in the future. Would be nice. But for that to happen 'communication' must be in the game first. I think comm. will change ED quit a bit.

    Hi Wolverine,
I just wanted to say thanks for posting your 'frustration' message on the forums. Your comments and the following replies have helped me a lot to stay calm and think clearly. I'm also PB-frustrated as an 80's speccy Elite player :-)
I've been grinding on the Chango-Dahan route, making a relatively safe 343 profit per unit for trading Tantalum from Dahan to Chango and then with Domestic Appliances from Chango to Dahan for 79 unit profit. Not great, but good for docking training!
Please let me know if you have any success gaining monies from the comments in that forum thread or elsewhere. I'd be very happy to fly with you into a scuffle in the future - but need to get a stick and brush up on my dogfighting skills first!

    Trader Ted (Ed.)
