I personally wouldn't have much interest in it. But for as long as System and its Bodies were to be allowed Names only by the CMDRs that have their 1st Discovery tag on them, I wouldn't object it (as a pure source of income for Frontier). However... Let me Colonize a System of my choice (requirement : 1st Discovered by me) and start building my own home and develop it... Now that might trigger my interest. Haul construction Materials, build & improve Facilities, ramp it all up from scratch, Transport workforce and population as a seed and see it grow over time with my Support. Yup, that'd work. But hard fiat money just for an ASCII String somewhere in the middle of nowhere? Nah...

Matchmaking Server just gave up on me (kicked when attempting Hyperjump). Looks like more late-night work for the Server admins.

Hmm.... "Connection Status : Missing required field" in lower left immediately after starting Game. followed directly by "Login failure" That's a new one for me.

Basically you've encountered an old issue : the lack of Traffic Management and enforced Traffic Deconfliction inside protected (Air)space such as inside or around Stations etc. It was suggested a very long time ago but ignored. You basically paid the ultimate price for that, years later (mind if I say : precisely as predicted). Currently there's absolutely nothing one could do, as there are no Scripts in place to detect and determine non-weaponized Attacks such as ramming below 100m/sec. The Game has no means to identify "Hostile Intent" and "Hostile Action - non-Weaponized" weighted against a CMDR's History and Track Record, thus it can't and won't do anything. It all falls apart at exactly this point, allowing CMDRs to do things which damage & destroy other vessels with complete impunity - right inside an Ocellus Starport in a High Security System.

Actual NPC Crews (for all I care minus Bonus Pips) with individual Skill Stats one can train would be the most logical thing for MultiCrew. Always was. But since basic old idea already exceeded the minimal-implementation standards we've seen in the past, it didn't come. Just imagine this : - your Crew NPCs taking up all free seats - each has individual default Skills at the time of hiring - you can build all those skills, resulting in increasingly efficient NPCs at their respective Tasks Mining :

Odd... I recently returned to the bubble to fetch another Ship & made a few Engineering trips... and it almost seemed to me that the "every subsequent roll will be better than the existing one" Idea was already in effect (?) I only had to make sure I applied each better one and re-roll. Almost made me think it might in order to invest more time to try getting me "god-rolls" that way. Unusual luck (?)

Haven't seen a single non-human craft myself. Not once. Since none of them ever shot at me and I never witnessed any attack (there's factually no proof they're the aggressors, everything so far points to humans/AEGIS being the aggressor), I have no intent to engage in hostilities. I also own no single AX Weapon. Galaxy is more than big enough. Given the <1% of that Galaxy we've explored so far, technically there could be dozens of advanced civilizations in that very Galaxy - and we wouldn't even know. Again, even this would give no single reason for unwarranted aggression of any sort. PS.

The best method for Selene Unlock IMHO would be to do Wing Mining (a bigger Mining Rig does the Mining for you to scoop, since a Sidey is kinda limited with Internals). If I understand you correctly, you're "Sidewinder only". I'm not sure if the Wing mate could refine and toss you the mined Cargo Canisters though. That'd work much faster. I'd be willing to give it a shot though, I still got my Mining Anaconda parked in the bubble and I'm mobile, so we could find out if i.e. I could mine and you scoop the products. I already got all Engineers unlocked, so I don't know if you could check the Invite counter. I don't even remember when it triggers, refining a ton? Selling a ton of Mined Metal/Mineral? Don't know. (I'm currently just buzzing around doing some Engineer stuff before I return to Colonia, fire me a PM if you're interested in a Wing Mining test)

I also got me the Jotun permit days ago. What always worked for me (to get that Permit from the Mission Board) was to fly to the System closest to the Permit System where the needed Faction was present in (doesn't need to control anything, presence is enough). There, checking the Mission board basically always and immediately gave me the Permit right away. In a tad more distant places I sometimes had to use to Rep up (sold Exploration Data) however, I rarely got the Permit after becoming Allied.

OP just needs to adhere to an old lesson of Aviation : the 6P's Proper Preflight Planning Prevents Poor Performance Other than that, these pseudo-arguments always read a bit like this : Poster : I want to play with my buddy NOW, but he's too far away! Parent : Billy... You live in the United States. Your friend lives in Australia. Please show some sense...

IMHO an Anaconda should eat a Python NPC for breakfast, especially with Engineered Weapons. MultiCannons (unless with a Special Effect) aren't the best choice against Shields. Kinetic Resistances of default Shields are quite high. Easy on the Power Distributor but not very effective. Try putting Incendiary Rounds onto some of them, if a pure MC loadout is desired, plus a single (i.e. Class 1) with Corrosive Shell. That should help. Other than that, the question always remains : Shields & Hull strenght. A Fighter Bay might also easen the difficulty, if fighting is not your thing.

My ten year old kid has lent me hand a few times. Pretty good on the basic airmanship. Hanging out the back of uh is it Anderson Dock in uh Eravate? Anyways I'm dropping painite Palladium and - uh mental blank - the other P. Cannisters one by one and he's scooping up in a Sidewinder. Platinum! That's the thing. So I drop something cheap and then he proves himself and so then I start dropping triple P to beef up the new account. He did alright for a while. Bought a Cobra with the commodities he scooped. Got him a skin of his choice.

Firstly, comparing videogame spaceships to rl cars is a whopper of a false equivalence. I'd argue in a car you're ONLY going to be interested in the destination. In ED many, many people are far more interested in the journey. There's a case for saying the more systems you hit per kylie the more chance there is of finding shinies. Secondly, and range aside, your assertion that anything other than the Conda, AspX, DBX, DBS, Adder or Hauler are novelty choices for exploration is utter tommyrot. What about the Orca, Dolphin, Keelback, Type 6, Type 7, Viper IV, Python - all of which I've made at least 1k trips in? Can't remember who it is but one explorer uses a Vulture. Cruento Mucrone went further than most in a single trip in a stock Cobra III. Frawd Digger went to BP in a Sidey. These ships may not be your favourites but please don't dismiss others' perfectly legitimate choices as a joke.

Hm, you could register with EDSM and run a 3rd Party Tool to auto-update your position at all times (i.e. EDMC). Then you can log into EDSM at anytime and see your Travel Logs and present position.

They've remained absolutely silent (understandably), but later it was clear the content wasn't actually there for a long time (folks confirmed it as well analyzing Game files). As to why this happened repeatedly is anyone's guess. Be it trolling or sending Players onto "wild goose chases" fully knowing it wastes their time. I can only theorize it was done to buy them time to develop the assets and they assumed the blind searches were still technically "game time". In a sense, this was even correct. A few hardcore Players kept sending out Expeditions, which (after the content was hand-placed for them) still got them entertained. Stick & Carrot isn't for everyone though, so when reality sank in, quite alot of folks turned their backs into it all, since all trust was lost. (which includes myself... learned my lessons the hard way) PS.

I think the MegaShips got alot of folks thinking. - how to get one (can you get one just for yourself, assuming your Credit Balance/Rep/Rank whatever is sufficient? Or do you have to be a Registered and accepted Player Group?) - how it is moving? Email or a Submission Form in the Forum to FDev and get a move during Thursday Server Maintenance? Or "free to move at anytime with cooldown" using in-game Controls? - is it "owned" or "rented" for a duration? - does it need Supplies to move/jump? - assuming a Player Group gets one, who's paying? All? A Group (Squadron) Leader? - can it be used for offensive or defensive purposes? A Combat advantage? Or just a respawn/refuel/repair point in a pre-defined and fixed neutral part of a System? - will it have Refuel/Repair/Rearm or Shipyard/Outfitting facility (just to park your Ships & Equipment, not for buying anything) - or is it just a mere respawn point for a single docked Ship per Player?

Hm, technically the SRV isn't Telepresence, so this might indeed be working as intended. Sounds very weird though, since the SRV always seemed expendable. Did anyone ever test if a SRV loss added to the personal Rebuy Stats (+1 event) ?

My gripe is that apart from the super-low Payment (as low as ~15M for a 44000LY (!!) round-trip), none of the ones I see are Transport (1-way) Missions. Always "Collect Data and return". So even IF I had to manually fly a Passenger-capable Ship to Colonia or to the Bubble - I'd be stuck in that very Ship and have to return in that very Ship on a deadline (and likely - unscanned due to a Secretive Passenger). For me that's a total showstopper. I'm missing - Transport bulk Passengers to/from Colonia (ordinary people migrating or returning from the area and standard Tourists... would make sense, right?) - Transport VIPs to/from Colonia Now those I could drop off and then mind my own business. Change Ships, visit Engineers at the bubble, fly another expensive Rig out to Colonia etc.

I've done an ELW and a Water World in these examples, quick & dirty. (System Map, clicked/centered & zoomed in fully onto Planet; 200% Volume Amplified, since it's quite subtle in-game... at least I typically have to momentarily raise Audio Volume to clearly hear it in the System Map) : ELW : (Spheric FX with Animal (bird?) Secondary) Water World : (Predominant Spheric FX with wobble setting in) PS.

I'd say the Imperial Trade Association didn't deem a Class 8 Power Distributor a mandatory item for their flagship Trade Vessel. But should the Empire one Day follow the example of Core Dynamics and start building dedicated medium and large Combat Vessels (they have none at the moment), I'm certain an Imperial equivalent to the Federal Corvette would ship with a C8 Power Dist.
