The crux of many forum flames, that nexus between nonsensical mechanics and awareness of said mechanics.

Autofailing the CG won't do anything but aggravate people trying to play the game; true salt miners could care less about ingame consequences because their game is to make your game less enjoyable. If someone is thwarting this CG purely for lulz then its total failure is their ultimate win scenario. Galaxy-wide negative effects for everyone, with help from FD? Miners would die in a glorious orgy of saline overdose. We need better ways to minimize their efforts so that they're just another aspect of crime, not make everyone else suffer.

I still hope for a day when the system state and govermental types directly affect the types of security responses you get, but this is a good beginning.

Yeah, there really isn't any competition on the field of any great import. The most functional games even in the ballpark of this genre that I've seen are Evochron Legacy (all you Newtonian-first pilots should just go get it now), NMS which apparently isn't terrible now that it's had some iterations, and maaaaaybe Space Engineers. I'm not counting EVE because I have no idea of the state of their recent pilotable-ship gaming stuff (and if it goes the way of Dust it's irrelevant anyway), and Star Citizen has to be actually released for me to count that one.

You are getting very lost in acronyms. The point of this thread is to find cooler things for criminals against the environment, not to hunt down other players; OP got his ears burned off over comms doing that, so is hanging up their PVP pirate patch for a PVE version and is seeing what's available and what's lacking. This has absolutely nothing to do with your PG gameplay, unless somehow Uni was part of your group and you all but him were playing police types. Edit: I see I'm not the only one mystified by your mystification.

So game forum SOP then. Reminds me of the opening soundclip from Dragula - "Superstition, Fear, and Jealousy".

Nobody can get rid of salt miners completely; as you say they exist as an element of humanity at large. That doesn't mean however that we need no attempt to improve the gameplay, and the gameplay surrounding crime and its consequences is sadly lacking. In this case we have even the perpetrators of crime bemoaning the lack of consequence for their actions. As far as mode selection, people should be choosing modes to go towards a gameplay style they prefer, not running away from a style that doesn't make sense or has a big hole in its gameplay. And as the game is always in development, "as is" is a constantly changing element. "As is" two years ago is markedly different than the upcoming version.

Mode selection is a separate topic from the lack of sensible rulesets within the game itself. Peoples' tolerance for being shot is also a separate topic which frequently gets shuffled into the deck, and only causes deflection away from the fact that there are nonsensical elements in the game ruleset. This is primarily a look at the silliness of being able to park outside some station, shoot the station's daily incoming business, and the station owner not caring in the least. Anarchy system, yes, and a lack of a system wide coherent response is fine since the system could be potentially ruled by a bunch of warlords per station; but even a warlord would probably like to have his Slaves and Performance Enhancers delivered to his station without their transports being continually destroyed a few hundred meters from touchdown. Being able to kill everything right in the driveway and have no response from the homeowner makes little sense.

Not storage per se, but still worth a mention in this thread I think. The player group East India Company does brisk trade in Engi items both incoming and outgoing, though they're currently down for a bit for restructuring due to their massive success. They can be found on Discord and should be back up for business pretty soon. Even after unlocking everyone I can see a nice sideline there, supplying MTs and Kamitra Cigars and such to the EIC.

Parking space numbers have never interested me or stuck in my memory except for when I get Bay 42. I think I knew that 5 and 1 are nosedive pads but that's about it.

That's due to the recently implemented policy of no eye contact. To discuss this matter further, you are required to transport to northern Tamriel and locate Messr. Stardust for clarification. At this stage it is unclear whether Skyrim also has a no eye contact policy, so you're allowed to touch any eyes you find there until further clarification is available.

I can't decide which of the ridiculous statements on both "sides" of this "issue" are the silliest, the bitter cloud-screamers or the blind open-wallet brigade. Somewhere between OMG THEY WILL STEAL MY MONIES FOR ALL THINGS and HERE ILL JUST GIB ALL MONIES is probably a more sensible approach to this item.

Hey Tarman, sorry for the delay answering you'r question of the avatar pic i use.
It's a scratchbuild model. Somewhere ( don't remember exactly where ) you can download paper fold models
    of different elite ship models.
All i did was to go out and buy some plast cardboard and using the paperfold as template, constructing
the model in a more solid state was simpel,
Take a look in this thread about a simpel build
