Besides the fact that it literally doesn't qualify as "griefing" by any definition I've ever seen or read, I also don't see anything wrong with it. The Anaconda pilot was fit for battle and happy to fight; he could have easily fled had he chosen to. I'd say my friend Ozram did a mighty fine job of making mincemeat out of him. You calling this griefing is a perfect example of why I've engaged every c&p and karmic suggestion thread so heavily as I have. People like you aren't satisfied with calling noob smashing and station mining griefing, you want to label all aggression griefing so that it can be swept out the door with a system that makes random hostility in Open impossible without prior written consent by the "victim" (in this case an Elite combat ranked CMDR in a battle conda) and notarized in triplicate.

How does the second video qualify as griefing?

Don't worry, I'm sure it's going to be fine. Unless you forgot to plunge the stopped up toilet. You did plunge the toilet, didn't you?

"Moaning?" Listen, the only time I ever "moan" is when my copilot is oiling up my joystick, ok? Sheesh!

^^This^^ ^^And this^^ ^^This is unfortunately typical of the factually incorrect, ill thought out, condescending, drivel that constitutes many contributions to this forum^^ An exploit is using a game mechanism in a way that was not intended. Like getting multiple rewards for completing only one task. Just saying.

It's not the size, it's the technique

Pulses are great for efficiency. Bursts are better in...well, bursts - ideal for fixed weapons and getting the most damage off in the shortest amount of time (technically beams are faster but you have to stay on target, whereas burst is just one 'shot' and lets you keep maneuvering and other stuff). Gimballed is handy for lasers in general to take down shields, since precise aiming really makes no difference against shields. Turrets are great on ships with more than 4 hardpoints, especially slower-turning ships. They make managing fire-groups easier, are easier on the distributor, and can cover much larger arcs than gimballed weapons can. I only use pulses for turrets: since there's no way to control them firing/not firing without either clever firegroup switching (annoying) or disabling things (painstaking), efficiency is key there, and also allows me to be more liberal with the rest of my loadout. Typically I do the same with gimbals, since I want to keep them on-target as much as possible and...

I see this thread is just as much about the use of turrets as it is the mighty Beluga. I learned the hard way from Dread Lord that an all turret loadout on a ship (he has a 3x SCB Python w/5000 hp's) can be very deadly. Far from being a useless meme, contrary to popular wisdom. Granted, he was engineered up the wazoo, but I'd go so far as to say he would defeat any pilot I've ever fought with that setup if they were not packing feedback rails, or had a meme build themselves such as cascade torps or mines. My reason for not using them is the same as my reason for flying FA Off and using fixed weapons; high skill mechanics that demand of me 100% concentration and piloting acuity. The idea of flying around passively waiting for the turrets to do all the work is not why I play this game. I also wouldn't engage autopilot if it were a possibility and go read the newspaper on the couch, either. As far as the Beluga goes; most ships in this game can be a deadly surprise for the unwary if properly equipped and...

All Dale said was, to paraphrase: "Open is for everyone." Nothing to get hung up on, just a man stating a fact that should be obvious to all reading it.

A word of wisdom when it comes to making money fast, such as Quince where players can become billionaires in a week: if you're the type of player who thinks in terms of "endgame ships" exploitative money grinds will ruin the game for you. If, on the other hand, you are the type of player who simply looks at money as a means to an end and that the "real" game is actually learning to master the use of these ships in all their many facets, get rich quick schemes can easily enhance your overall enjoyment of the game. These latter types of players are usually billionaires who are more than content to fly in Couriers/Vultures/FAS's/FdL's and similar. ED is all about piloting skill and the satisfaction that comes with attaining mastery of your chosen weapon; no amount of ship ownership or wealth will give you that.

I like Fred's suggestion, plus I'm also fond of finding a good Civil War system and farming Massacre Missions. It really depends, though, on what kinds of activities interest you, OP. There are a number of efficient ways to build capital in all of the main disciplines in the game.

I don't believe that any level of radicalism in speech can be a danger to society. Takes more tangible action than that. Even if I did believe words could be significantly harmful in and of themselves, radical Islamism wouldn't even be on my top fifty list of harmful ideologies...but the idea that people shouldn't be able to say what they feel like saying would be very near the top. Precisely why I feel everyone should have the power to destroy anyone.

I can't think of any good reason to ban public preaching or to single out Muslims. I will shamelessly defend their right to display their symbols in public. If that results in ignorant fools falsely conflating support of free speech with support of the message being spoken, so be it.

Starting to look like Kim and Trump are backing off, with both using the situation to their advantage. Not particularly surprising. That's really not the definition of murder. You don't have to have specific targets in mind, just a reasonable expectation that someone might die...and if someone does, that's murder. If they were objectively bad, they wouldn't exist.

Yeah, I just checked the dev responses to this thread, and those most definitely were not answers hinting at solutions. In fact, I'd say the odds of un-beigeifying the planets ever isn't looking very likely based on those responses. It's weird to see a game where the graphics get worse as development continues.
