Interesting. I'll give it a try. Maybe I'm completely wrong then. Would be great if we could get a dev to give us a definitive answer. If I remember I'll try and corner someone at the expo.

that's not the case. illegal trade still hurts controlling anarchy factions.

there is generally very, very few reasons in ED to wait for. currently enjoying my t9 on my third account instead of the cutter on my main, while my main is out exploring in a DBE instead of the conda, and flies a python for trade in the bubble instead of above mentioned cutter ;-)

to be overly precise, it is the number of bond REDEEMS that is the most important, with the number of bonds got second (via number of shipkills), while the value of bonds plays no or a very, very minor role. max: shoot eagle, return to station, redeem, return to cz etc. close to max: shoot eagles and other small fry, go for redeem, return third: use ammo based builds to force you to redeem more often stupid: have a laser based build and sit in cz for days, while focussing on enemy condas

No need to use the debug tool anymore, just use the in-game HMD Quality setting (it's the same thing). I'd suggest trying SS=1 and HMDQ=1.25 for starters.

I could be wrong but my understanding is that the ED HMD quality is EXACTLY the same thing as the debug/tray tool setting, i.e. it's just a way of telling the Oculus software to upscale what it's rendering to the headset (and not a question of ED actually doing anything itself).

These are amazing, what post processing are you using there? It looks terrific.

Adding a delay to all synthesis would certainly make SRV racing more challenging (no more instant hull repairs)... but overall I agree it sounds like a very good idea.

Yes. Not actually much point setting pixel density in the tray tool (nor pixels per pixel in the oculus debug tool) as the in-game HMD Quality sets the exact same thing (unless the tray tool has finer granularity and there's a very particular value you want to set).

Yay! Well done guys ... that's really cool! It's kinda weird that the srv just passed right through the buildings and stuff, I can't quite imagine the collision damage model that would cause that tho. It's an unusual situation to be sure but you'd think the physics engine would still be doing its stuff for the two solid objects (station and srv).

they are not illegal at the CG station. you get the message, as other jurisdictions in secoya make them illegal. no sneaking into the station required.

CMDR goemon Date: 14 August 3002 Location: Diamondback Explorer KAIKO3000III, Scheau Eaec Sector, on way to Rho Cassiopeia While travelling slowly towards Rho Cassiopeia with much differing length per jump due to the low star density in this sector, I’m re-reading the logs of my fellow explorers. All this proud talk about their modules, about their ships makes me smile. I would like to call to them, and say: “You do know, that a maximum jumprange increase from, let’s say, 56,76 ly to 59,13 ly will save you approx. 5 hours flight time on a circumnavigation? I have done the calculations...” - but they know the calculations as much as i do and probably even better, and i was just the same before leaving the bubble for what was meant to be a shake-down run. So, instead, let me record a story. Hero Dot - what a silly nickname! -, this data dealer of mine, had many, many years ago bought a sidewinder, which he had parked in a hangar. He is quite a bit older than me. He always said, that one day he...

My standard patter is along the lines of ... ha ha ha ha (point ship and flash lights) ha ha ha ha ha ha (in sing song voice) "you ran ouuut of fu-el, you ran ouuuut of fu-el)" Is that wrong? (haven't checked the SOP for a while) P.S. me and festival legend Arthur Smith chatting at the bar ..

Personally I'd like to see long range salvage/rescue missions on the mission and passenger board. Something along the lines of... "One of our exploration ships is overdue, last reported near system XYZ. We need you to fly out there and search for wreckage and bring back any survivors. Oh, and if you find their exploration data cache, it's yours..." A guy can dream...

Yes. I agree to disagree. :) And I certainly agree that my thoughts about danger aren't something that everyone else agrees with.

This would be great, but unfortunately has the same problems that I'd forgotten to consider for existing ships. You'd need to have both the internal and utility versions of the scanner in game, as many existing ships will have both scanners fitted and all their utility slots filled.

Well, I am an explorer when I'm not being a racer. I'm certainly not a pvp player. Yes, agreed that a proper internal module wouldn't work out for explorers already out-there, I hadn't properly thought about that. :o A freebie module like the planetary landing module, as suggested by others in this thread would be fine though, as it could be patched into existing ships. I disagree with you that needing to recall your ship would be impractical to repair / refuel your SRV though. And I'd be 100% happy about that making some terrain dangerous. There's too little danger when exploring currently, and these changes while welcome all make exploration even safer.

This issue persists in the 2.4 beta. Dropping in on a station while nav locked still causes the station interior graphics to glitch out, then your ship seems to get dragged around in various directions. I'm not sure what else to do at this point except say it's still a problem, and has been for over a year. Support, I know it's been said the issue can't be reproduced in house but the player community has provided logs and videos... Would it help to start offering up fiddler traces and the like? Could we arrange a remote session with someone in QA to tryh and reproduce the issue live? What can we do to provide more information?

Well sad to confirm that the wing nav lock bug is still alive and well in the 2.4 beta. Docking at a station while nav locked to an already docked wingmate can still end up making your ship impossible to control. Gonna put in another bug report. Gonna hear "we know this is an issue, thanks for reporting," or worse "we're only concentrating on 2.4 bugs." I guess the real question is should I even bother anymore? Are there so few people who fly in wings that is just not a priority issue? Maybe just pretend that the wing nav lock function doesn't exist? Because waaaaay back before 2.1, it did work, and it made flying with a friend so much more enjoyable...
