    The lack of evidence doesn't prove or disprove anything. Unfortunately, you just know that you don't know. As to genuine random, I have my doubts but no proof. I take it you are referring to the CHEAT as to the trick, only FD knows for sure what that was all about. Whether any more are out there, need proof. You can always write down your module characteristics from your best ones and refer to them as the results roll through. It's not that I don't have good ones already, I am just playing the system for the excitement. After all, my post was an attempt at humor, not at all a real RNG discussion. That's for the math people to decipher if they amass a large enough sample.

    Yeah people say you don't need engineering for PvE, but I definitely recommend you do it. Specially in a dakka dakka ship, engineering those MCs will allow you to stay way longer in the combat sites. Here's some humble suggestions!!

    As of right now, it's not hard to make money. It's just boring. 1. Massacre Missions: go to a system in War/Civil War, get Allied with one of the warring minor factions, pick Massacre Missions for them. In a Vette, you can kill 70-100 enemies in a Combat Zone every hour, and there are massacre missions paying 20+ million credits for 90+ kills. That, plus 3 million credits from the combat bonds, can reach 25-30m Cr/h. 2. Assassination Missions can pay 1-3m Cr per target, when Allied to the minor faction. Knowing how to trigger the Waypoints for the targets is a must. Can make 10m+ Cr/h. 3. Settlement Assault Missions can also pay 1-3m Cr when Allied. Pick only the + or ++ Settlements as targets, the +++ can be a pain to locate the Powergrid/ take time to complete. The + and ++ Settlements have powergrids that are easy to take down from your ship with PAs or Railguns in one shot, can make 15m+ Cr/h. 4.     OP, a lightly engineered Diamond Back Explorer will cost you shy of 15 million credits and will take you anywhere in the Galaxy with a 52Ly jump range. Which can go as far as 56 with heavy engineering. It can also sport a Planetary Vehicle Hangar and a small Cargo Rack. An Asp Explorer can jump a bit shorter generally but can sport more Optional Internals. Good luck, have fun!!!

    Gain access to prismatics if you want to really shield tank, but yes. That looks like plenty of tank and power to own them NPCs out there.

    Having two modules doesn't affect the rolls that are generated, but it does allow you to "bank" a good one. Keep looking for that unicorn!:cool:

    I agree that could happen, but I think it's only one scenario. If the ship sold were a PvP engineered FDL say, then yeah that'd be a game changer, it would significantly alter the style of play for a lot of people, some good, some bad. If we take the concept down a notch & sell a kitted out but non-engineered FDL (let's say free rebuys like a freewinder) it would have a significant impact too, mostly on the rebuy thing because you can't buy skill & you wouldn't be a terribly effective ganker in open without skill and engineering. Both could be gained fairly quickly though. So let's go down some more, sticking with the FDL (I'm assuming PvP is where most impact would lie rather than potential BGS manipulation or exploration). So now you can buy an E-rated FDL, no engineering, again free rebuy on loaned modules (so a new player with zero experience could buy & use it, worst case scenario). You have a player who has skipped about a fortnights progression but otherwise has no major advantage compared to...

    I’d be curious to know the answer here as well. I was under the impression all kills counted the same so if you only fought players your progression would be very slow because you just don’t get to kill 100 players in a single outing the way you can NPCs at a Haz Res.

    I agree with the ergonomic criticism of the t16000 stick, but I don't think a £100 product (the FCS set) is cheap, it's mid range, or the bottom rung of the fully featured market. Not sure I agree about a horas needing to look modern Vs futuristic either, it just needs to have enough controls &be ergonomically sound. The cougar & warthog successor have replaceable grips, I like the idea of having an ED specific grip. I don't use the twist function myself, I use the paddles on the throttle for yaw.

    I'd love to explore procedurally created worlds with varying temperatures, different fluids behaving in believable ways based on a sophisticated physics engine I'm not sure this game requires (or will see) that level of detail. From an interaction perspective if I take my ship underwater say, I'd handwave that it would handle the pressure up to some (massive) limit, that I might get a canned splash effect & lighting changes based on the density of the fluid but I wouldn't expect waves crashing against the shore, or even waves or tides based on the various stats of the planet in question. If a liquid lake were just flat & impenetrable I'd be disappointed, if I landed my ship in Lava I'd expect to take heat damage, if I couldn't hide from am enemy in the lake (even for a limited time) I'd not be surprised. The demo vid was impressive, I would love to have it. After all, the environment should be as realistic as possible (or practical), only our interaction with it is fantasy.
