Fair point ... I use TrackIR 5 with the clip on the brim of a baseball cap. No wires but on the other hand ... I do have to wear a baseball cap (which my wife refers to as my "space hat"). :p

Accessibility guidelines for you deciding you don't want to use the best part of the game? Nope :) Well that puts a crimp on an otherwise damn fine explanation :( I hadn't considered that it would be a reaching your destination chime, but that is a very distinct possibility. I really thought it was Superpowers rather than Powerplay powers, but maybe some more investigation needs to be done...

Haven't heard of Delan Clip before. Am I right in thinking you end up with a wire going from the PC to your head?

Thank the lord ... I thought I was imagining this. I also wondered whether you simply got a different bit of arrival music when you got to the final destination of your plotted route as opposed to an intermediate destination (have we ruled this out?). You mean like hearing people coming up behind you in FPS games? I think the audio can be quite rightly considered part of the game. Turn it off at your own risk.

Sorry my attendance on the forums has been sporadic of late, otherwise if I had of seen that post in Tinfoil then I would have responded. There are a few different types of music that play when you enter certain systems, I am as always prepared to be proved wrong here. Each of the superpowers has their own "chime" that plays on entering a system, I don't believe independent systems do, then there is the Exploration chime. I'd very rarely noticed it before 2.4, I think that it does play in the systems that contain Generation ships but I'm not 100% positive. I'd had a fly around some of the systems where I'd heard it before looking for listening posts and the like, but never found anything. I think it's clear that Frontier are using it to indicate there's something of interest in the system, it's just unfortunate that if it's planet based there's still very little chance of finding it.

Follow-on link to next race ... https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/385280-Buckyball-Racing-Club-presents-Yggdrasil-(21-29-October-3303) Nice one! I must confess I do like videos of SRV fliving set to music ... can't get enough of 'em!

My personal recommendation as an upgrade for your current system would be a Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS X joystick (currently 37.99 from Amazon - was 29.99 last week) plus a headtracker (either the TrackIR 5 or the ED Tracker which are just over 100 and just under 100 respectively). Should be able to easily afford both for under 200. The addition of those two will completely revolutionize your gameplay - a bigger monitor, while great, won't.

Bondrewd ... if we can turn our attention away from the surface "scatter" rocks for a second, you seem pretty knowledgeable about this stuff and I wondered what your thoughts were about the general shape and form of surface contour, rock and mountain formations. For reference, here's a video I made a while back, following a fellow commander in preparation for an SRV race around a circuit known as "Sandy Ring" on LFT 37 6 A, coordinates -13.2 / 43.48 (https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/289325-Paladin-Consortium-Anniversary-Event-SRV-Grand-Prix!?p=4513484&viewfull=1#post4513484). Having spent many years skiing (sometimes off-piste and once at night) around the mountains of Europe I have to say that the general form and colouration (the way you get bits of exposed rock among the snow covered cliff faces) seems incredibly realistic to me.

Trending: New Buckyball Race ("Yggdrasil") starting 21st October for one week. Also - now I've watched the first one, added some superlatives to the link for Cmdr Hobs truly excellent series of Flight Assist Off training videos. Also - Issue two of Sagittarius Eye magazine is out now!

Intent to race! I gotta finish seeing what these INRA folks have been up to first, then I'll go and do a Buckyball Beer Mat blot to appease the gods. Polly - the artwork and backstory you've put into this are AWESOME!

Ed does in fact do live streams in PG with certain groups like Canonn or Elite Racers just to help instancing and avoid interference from griefers ;) But that's because there's something actually happening. A live stream of a CG just doesn't work in Solo/PG. CGs are already repetitive and uneventful enough when you're slogging through them in Open! Frankly, I'd rather watch a livestream of a DMV waiting room than a solo/PG CG livestream, where there is absolutely no chance of anything unexpected happening. Or just cut out the middle man and mix some ambien with whiskey and call it a night.

Spent the morning in VR visiting the newly discovered INRA bases (three down two to go). With or without VR I HIGHLY recommend doing this ... the atmosphere of the places and the way the storyline unfolds (visit them in order) is absolutely brilliant ... really creepy! Bases listed in the OP over here ... https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/383412-INRA-Base-Discoveries

No problem. I've just watched the first video ... it's really REALLY excellent. I'm gonna qualify my thread with some superlatives now! More importantly, I'm definitely gonna give that a try. Up until now (three years into the game) I've been a "very occasionally toggle FA off" kinda pilot but your video has given me the inspiration to give this a proper go. Thanks you!

Thanks Keybuk, As you may have noticed from previous updates - the spreadsheet is parallel to Alecs OP which I made to make it easier to plan trips by seeing the distances for all / or to tick them off etc. I've used it to travel over 30k ly to visit a vast amount of them so far :). Alec - based on this info that Keybuk provided and from your comments mate, do you recon it might be easier to split out all the movable megaships then not have a location, but show a link to the routes (where poss) instead? Thanks mate and sorry for the amount of extra work lol. It taken a lot of effort to get all those together over the last few weeks! My next mission is to visit all the INRA bases then probably sleep for a few months hahaha

The average size of images we use in POI descriptions is around 640 pixels Width, 400 pixels Height. I'll add a link on the the Praei POI entry to your post on here as well as incorporate your resized gif into the POI description.
