That was really quite rousing! Awesome video. Oh, and yeah ... look at you looking around your cockpit ... good innit! (have you tried fliving with it yet?) Edit: intent to race The Wyrm in my Asp Explorer "The Wedding Anniversary"

Going to disagree with you here. If I drop into a USS and see 9 units of canisters, 3 Fruit and Veg, 3 Scrap Metal, 2 Phase Alloys and 1 Chem Manipulators. I only want the Chem Manips. The one use limpet is best here. Especially if I am running my Mats close to the limit. The other 8 can float free as I don't want them. If I use the unlimited limpet I pick up stuff I don't want and if it picks up the Phase Alloys I might fill my Mats before I get the Chem Manips and have to start dumping, not a big deal but selecting one is better. IMO.

Today I have mostly been sacrificing Beer Mats to Norse gods in order to receive a blessing for my upcoming Buckyball Racing endeavours.

Current location: Shinrarta Dezhra Cargo: 0 x Buckyball Beermats Mission: a very special blot Status: End of day #3 - the mission (to toss the beer mats into the heart of a geyser) has been abandoned as, after approx. 5 hrs of searching, I've still not been unable to locate any geyers on Frey 4 C A. I'm now docked at Jameson Memorial so I can outfit an appropriate racing ship (make and model yet to be determined). No doubt the gods will be disappointed that I have failed them but I hope my final blot will at least lessen their displeasure and allow them to think favourably of me when I put my metal to the test in the coming week.

Updated the "Science, mystery and lore" section to reflect the fact that Drew Wagar's lore documents are now being hosted on the Canonn Research website. As you wish. ;)

Wow. I've seen plenty with two arms but never one with four before. Nice find! (not quite sure where to put that tho ... might need a new section for "Misc' oddities".

Awesome work ... I'm going to re-post this over on the Buckyball Flight Academy thread so it doesn't get too lost.

I don't think there will be a Norse translation of, "I said Cookiebots, not Boogiebots!"

I was going to post a link to EDTS, which I've never used but I know that a lot (lol) of other BRC cmdrs use, but Cookiehole beat me - nothing new there! ;) If you're playing with the Raikogram in excel anyway though, you can use the solver plugin to solve travelling salesman problems, which is what I normally do. I tend to chuck everything Buckyball related into excel anyway. Just Google for "excel solver travelling salesman". The solver plugin is a part of excel, it's not a third party plugin, you just need to activate it. As most of our races only have four or five stops, and since number of jumps is a smaller number than lightyears, I usually have a go manually first and then check with excel.

DS does his research and often makes insightful comments about SC, but then rips to shreds his own persona/credibility by posting this type of garbage. Perhaps he has two competing needs - the need to be correct about SC, and the need for attention. Either way, it's entertaining. :D

Neutron boosts are risky but pretty easy once you get the hang of it, and they can save quite a lot of time if you plan your route well. My first trip to Colonia was 3.7 hours, and I was a Neutron Highway noob. I'm sure I could get there much faster with practice. Pro Tip: bigger ships are better at navigating the jets.

For mining and passenger missions, as well as refuelling & rearming, the Witch Head Science Centre is in system HIP 23759. The Orion Nebula Tourist Centre is in system PMD2009 48

Much appreciate all the hints and tips and the updated OP for this thread. I've just finished a 2nd 2hr session looking for geysers on one particular 600km diameter planet. No luck yet but I'll be trying the glide technique tomorrow (never occured to me to search from that high up).

Can't argue with this. The only reason to not do this is to make Xbox controllers more "equal" by effectively nerfing the potential of KBM/HOTAS. This is a terrible way to treat PC gamers though.

I agree that they should be challenging, and I'm not worried about it getting too easy since I'm sure Frontier will just notch up the difficult with each new tool we get, just as they've already done. As for the wakes, you should read the descriptions on the materials you can collect from Thargoid corpses. ;)

OP, I suspect the clunkiness lies between the chair and the desk. Sure it would be great if the device had a fire group, but it's WAY easier to use than an ECM. An ECM requires precise timing and counters a fast attack. The anti-EMP only requires charging. It's dead easy to use because the Thargoid EMPs are very predictable.
