I mean, yeah, the irony of it and all, sure. :) But honestly, I would much rather give you a hand to help you up than laugh at you when you fall. That that isn't an opinion in this game vexes me to no end. All I wanna say is that I really care about you... All apologies if that sounds naive and cheesy. :p

This isn't anything against you at all, but I'm honestly having a difficult time understanding this. I suppose if I have a weakness it's having too much empathy for my own good. It even makes watching some movies very difficult for me, even though I can distinguish logically between a plot and true events in real life that have significant impacts on people. I know I'm wearing my heart on my sleeve with my responses so far in this thread instead of "manning up" to the apparent norm. I do however understand that humor is a coping mechanism of sorts to relieve tension, and this is why I'm not holding anyone at fault or judging them bast on their reactions. Sometimes we can take ourselves too seriously in this game, but on the other hand, and more often than not in my opinion, sometimes we don't take ourselves seriously enough.

Here's an older one going all the way back to when I was just a wee lad learning what the world was and my place within it. I think there is a lot to learn from this for those who haven't so far. Idealism isn't foolhardiness, it lets you know the true potential of humanity within the reality of the challenges the world throws at you. Caring for others isn't weakness; no, it is the true mark of strength and worth as a humanitarian. Anyway...

To be honest, I didn't even bother watching it. Laughing at people isn't how I get my kicks, and if I did, it would speak more about my condition than that of others. It reminds me of those ganking videos you see going around from time to time. How pathetic is it that that is how some people find validation in their gaming endeavors? "Look at this stupid scrub dropping out of combat and hitting a world too fast, because they couldn't keep their thrusters powered," to paraphrase some I've seen.

Yes, absolutely. I would, and it isn't even really my thing. Real Multicrew > Telepresence More game mechanics to play together and help each other instead of just shooting at each other... PLEASE, Frontier. No, seriously... We're mostly all brothers and sisters here in the Pilots Federation, despite the contrived PVP meta some seem to strive for. Let me play the game as my moral compass might prefer instead of the psycho you seem to want me to be based on the available game mechanics you've implemented so far.

I reached "end game" in a Cobra in mid-3301. I play the game as a survivalist and to have fun playing as a Commander in the Pilots Federation and exploring our galaxy. After getting a Cobra, the rest has been more or less frosting on the cake, as they say. Big ships in the game don't interest me much since I don't find them particularly enjoyable to pilot. In some respects, I do suppose I'm playing a different game than others, but I'm glad this game has the opportunity to.

Agreed, though I think they're expressing a valid alternative and way of approaching the game in general which can provide some insight to those that are having a challenge progressing in the game as they think they should. Progress in the game is largely self-defining. You don't have to have the biggest ship etc. to get along just fine. It all depends what you're after, but regardless of that, you should enjoy the game for yourself at any rate, or I don't really see the point in bothering with it.

Cheers, Commander, and well said. I personally don't care much for the larger ships anyway, so this is something that's pretty easy for me to not have to "grind" through. My Commander's RP choices make it so that he isn't particularly in favor of the Federation and especially not the Empire, so I haven't ranked up in navy standings with either, and more than likely never will. Sure, this means that some of the content and capability is gated off from me, but for me as a player, it's something which I can easily write off as not being worth it to me. There are many ways to go about enjoying this game, and being a bit of a space junky as I am, getting the purported best ships out there for the sake of it just doesn't appeal to me very much. Again, to each their own, but my fully combat loaded exploration Vulture seems to be a very capable ship to me and I've enjoyed using it immensely over the last couple of years. My ship's story is far from complete. Here's a write-up on the ship and an overview...

Like the rest of Hollywood films, I think I'm going to have to sit this one out. The actors and actress whinging about their political agendas ruined the prospect. I saw Blade Runner, which I enjoyed. But that was $12.75 more than I expected to spend this year so that a bunch of actors could virtue signal at me.

The fact that anyone accepts Jones as an accurate representation of mainstream conservatism is the most laughable thing of all.

Credits come as you play the game still though, so I have a fully loaded Python (and a handful of other ships as well) more or less as a bonus for playing. It has some uses in the game as well, but I certainly wouldn't give up my Vulture, Eagles, and Cobra for it though. My Dolphin and DbE, yeah, maybe.

The main bit of "grind" for me would be unlocking and leveling up the Engineers. I'm not worried about "god rolls" so much, since I'm not into the PVP meta, just access to the top tiers they offer. I'm not for the "craft and trash" mechanic at all, so have been going about it in the alternate ways, when I can be bothered to. So far, this is something that I haven't invested much of my time into. Who knows how many billions of credits worth of commodities you need to level up Marco Qwent all the way. Too many it seems. So, I'm content to mostly just go about playing the game my own way and not really worry about the Engineers. I get along well enough as it is without them, though I do have tier 5 FSD range mods on all my ships. That wasn't too much of a "grind," since I could just sell exploration data to those Engineers and I'm an explorer anyway. Also, my Python is the biggest ship I'll likely bother getting in the game, though the Chieftain is pretty cool looking, so we'll see how that might fit into...

I am hoping that, with the upcoming introduction of a proper Alliance Military-in Beyond-we will also finally see the long promised overhaul of the whole military career part of the game. Not merely jobs related to your rank, but also additional benefits from rank.

So you might remember that I was feeling a bit "burned out" on missions, due to a failure of follow-on missions & challenging surface scan mission spawns. Well, I took one piece of good advice from that thread, & tonight decided to head out to Hermitage, to see if I could locate that INRA base everyone was talking about. After trying to find it blind for about an hour (yeah, right ;) ), I decided to "cheat" & find out more details about where it was located. Even with that info, it took a lot of driving, through some *very* difficult terrain, to actually find the old base. Still, it was a huge amount of fun looking for it-much more fun than days of trying to get follow-on missions to spawn. I also got to find another truly dark planet to drive around too......so that was an added bonus! Fun times :).

According to mflorianz' talk about E: D's audio a couple of years ago, they put specific low-frequency impulses into /the multicannon firing sfx/ just for buttkickers. I've been fascinated by the idea since seeing that, and got a Buttkickers as soon as noticing they were in stock locally and on sale https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1317&v=GiAcsrmyePs Anecdotally, others have said that they experience serious bass in game. If I take the 'simple route' of letting the game output in stereo, there's a lot more going on below my bottom than I see currently with 7.1. The only effects that I do feel now (FSD enter/exit) are so strong that they cause the BK amp to clip.

That's very interesting. It implies that there is a <60Hz signal somewhere in the game, it's just not on the SUB channel to begin with. Your globbing all the channels onto SUB (then filtering off >60Hz) restores it to SUB. I don't suppose I could prevail upon you to replicate my VM setup and verify that there is little to nothing being sent by ED on channel 4, when you have time?

Ok, let me make the question simpler: I've highlighted where to look on Voicemeeter in these two screenshots. This is what no LFE activity looks like: LFE activity (drop from supercruise)
