    I think you're right, but not just about the cloud in use. It's more likely to be about the canonical owner of player accounts, which are Xbox accounts and proprietary Elite Dangerous accounts owned by Frontier on PC. From what I can see, these are only shared on the first discovery field of each system, and I guess that these are just plain old text data without a reference back to the originating player account backend (consider the inability to query your first discovereds). If the gameservers used directly by sessions are indeed required to be on Azure for Xbox, then that's indeed a whole other world of pain to unify. Refactoring the player account model, taking into account different platform backends, their customer account models, and how those handle DLC and Game Extra purchases, would give the backend team no end of fun and games. I do something very similar in my day job.

    Straight up. Special Ops guys used to rave about them, so I decided to buy one. I knew exactly the kind I wanted though - matte finish, composite grips, folding paratrooper stock. Went to one of the local gun shows on a whim one Saturday and found that very one. Picked it up with like 600 rounds of ammo. Took it home, and promptly put it under my bed, where it sat packed in cosmoline for like three years until one day my friends suggested we take it out and shoot it. It promptly became my favorite rifle, man. Good buy.

    You could grind out the ranks, get them as participation awards, or just enjoy playing the game however you like. So, I guess it's just up to you how you feel about your progression in the game so far. If it's any consolation, I'm sure I put more hours into the game than that before getting an Elite rank.

    Thinking whilst I've had a few, as I sometimes do, of starting an exploration army revolution. Well, you know, leading by example, really, if one might choose to follow along. Anyway, here is a themed introductory song, for starting said execution, even if some might find it rather silly. Don't be wary; it's not scary. Really, there's no need for hesitation.     I've heard they've been used for covering damaged eyes where light interference can sometimes be an issue or while the eye is healing, and for modesty, but yes, also (and perhaps more often) for maintaining low light vision below deck. Either way, I like the stitching and look of the tri-strap eye-patch as well. Cheers.

    The angle of the top portion of the strap seems a little off. Seems like it should be meeting the top of the nose bridge and going more over the temple than the middle of the forehead.

    I may be wrong, but I'd hazard a guess that they have a different team in general working on these sort of cosmetic items. But anyway, yes, in general I would prefer efforts toward space-legs, worlds with atmospheres, proper and more comprehensive non-telepresence multi-crew options, enhanced exploration mechanics with Commander agency and player immersion instead of catering to the path of least resistance (travel and jump range boosts ad nauseam), and so on. Happy now? :p

    Might as well be telepresence; which is one of the reasons I tend to avoid using SRVs in general. However, according to official lore and as far as I know, it isn't supposed to be. Thankfully I've never lost an SRV the few times I have used them in the live game.

    I just hope they don't change the reddish Tactical suit from the grey/tan or whatever it is in-game. Just got it the other day for that very reason. Looks smashing as is. Reminds me I need to update my avatar. Coming soon to a forum near you.

    Right, and the major reason that multipurpose isn't practical on a Corvette is the abysmal jump range. 23-24LY multipurpose build-range would be fine imo.

    Sorry for the late edit. This is something that could be addressed by the devs with in-game menu control setup options. It isn't a perfect solutions, as there would be some dead space (as it were) along the extremes of an individual axis, but at least having this as an option would remove this handicap in maneuverability potential. I had suggested this a long time ago, and I did hear something from Brett about passing this along to the devs, but haven't heard anything since. Cheers. ... But anyway, yeah. If you can find a controller with square range of motion for the analog sticks, this should fix the issue as well. It's unlikely that they make any for the modern game consoles, but maybe.

    Yes, it's an effective 19% multi-axes maneuverability handicap, as tested in-game using throttle for this value. The theoretical handicap is actually larger than that, but it seems the values are rounded out somewhat, at least on my controller, i.e., hitting the wall of max value range before the range of motion on the sticks, though still not being able to reach the "corners." So for example, if I'm rolling and pitching equally using my right analog stick, I'm limited to roughly 81% and 81% for potential maneuverability. Calibrating your sticks might even make this worse, as you won't be hitting the wall along one axis as soon. This could be resolved by the devs by adding optional in-game "live-zone" type settings for axes value limits for max throws.

    I've only ever used jumponium twice in the game (see the top link in my signature), and have never used the white dwarf or neutron star boosts. Generally jump range isn't as important to me as having fun navigating around otherwise and seeing how far I can push things. I also play as a survivalist, so these sort of optional risks aren't really to my liking – though to be clear, I don't mind them as optional game mechanics. As some of you may know, in general I like going exploring in a fully combat loaded Vulture. Most recently I visited the Skull and Crossbones Nebula in this ship out some 15k LYs along the rim.

    Close to stars and easy to crash into them if you aren't careful and watch what you're doing is nice. Jumping into stars is a little... "unimmersive" or perhaps overly immersive, depending on your literal interpretations... ;) So, I have mixed feelings about this. The few times I've crashed into stars this way, I was able to get out of the situation easily enough. Doesn't hurt that my ships tend to have fairly good heat management and supercruise maneuverability. Just don't jump to the next system but away from the stars in supercruise. A total lack for this kind of risk is unfortunate.

    Whilst I'm certainly not a mod, and wouldn't pretend to be (and I never do this type of thing), can we please keep the beige-discussion to another thread? https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/362836-Do-we-have-a-ETA-on-the-cure-for-the-beige-plague So far this thread has been full of a lot of good ideas. The beige-issue is something that many of us feel is a problem, and it certainly has had an impact upon exploration - but we certainly don't need to derail this thread with that subject.

    Well, I do agree with you that heat sinks are not luxury items, that's why I wrote: But I do like the idea that there is some stuff that can't be produced by commanders in their ships, using synthesis, but instead is limited to dedicated high tech facilities in stations, like for example SRVs.
