Cutter, will pay for itself quicker adn the jump range is far better. Failing that I suggest that you go for the one that will be easiest for you to unlock first, based on your current ranks and reputation

Yea, 658,000 to smuggle 60ish cargo at Friendly doesn't seem too exciting, probably doesn't break 1M at Allied as I think the one I'm speaking about was already an Elite level mission. I suppose if you could stack load a Cutter it wouldn't be too bad but not only does brute forcing your way through with a Cutter spoil the whole fun of being a sneaky smuggler, you might as well just do passengers or even some other mission line. Probably better to just run Imperial Slaves, as boring as that is and really not even smuggling much of the time since it's usually legal at good spots.

Same with any other game that had expansions with exclusive content... I don't think that means we should start serving the experience a la cart, especially when it typically drives the cost of each individual piece up since the company can't predict what is or isn't going to make them money.

If you ever get stuck in a planet you can switch to non horizons and it iwll ask you if you want to start in orbit.

Have to wonder now if there is indeed some issue at work here. I remember specifically back when I was attempting to put all the mission types and locations together in a post that when I found a system that offered smuggling missions there were a bunch of them on a consistent basis. Now it seems that there are only a couple here and there and feel that I can confirm that state definitely has a huge affect on them being available. Ok, so you're in boom... That means we're on the up and up now (mostly)? Found an Anarchy faction not in boom.

Seems like an oversight. A kill is a kill and finding the same target again, in the same place, in the same ship, just doesn't make any sense. Theoretically, this is something that could loop on until mission failure and that's just not ideal.

I still wouldn't like it because it sets the precedent that all ships going forward could be purchased before being able to access them. I tend to like how it is now, buy the expansion, get the ships that they decide to make expansion exclusive. I suppose something like the Cobra Mk IV could be an exception if indeed it remains a pre-order item that isn't included in Horizons. I see less wrong there as I'm not typically a fan of pre-order bonuses either, even though I did buy it. I think it should just be included in the expansion alongside the Beluga and Dolphin. The idea of still having to earn it is sound, but it seems to also kill the original idea of just wanting to purchase it.

Well, unfortunately, the purchasing of planes and the like is one of the reasons I ended up leaving War Thunder. I never even considered playing World of X after hearing that you could buy better ammo in World of Tanks. Maybe it could work in this game, maybe it wouldn't, I doubt it, but I know for sure that I wouldn't play it because I just can't support it after I've already payed for the game and an expansion. I refuse to support it in a paid game. The cosmetics are already borderline for me since I can change the look for my ship in other games for the base purchase price. I despise what's happening and I'll likely remain stubborn until there just aren't any games that don't do it anymore. By that time, maybe I'll just take up another hobby completely or test how much whiskey my liver can actually handle.

I'm all but passive aggressive. We can take this outside if you want. It would be for no reason, but we can. :) Understanding that people enjoy things that I don't isn't passive aggressive. There is both directions because that's how you lead yourself to understanding, you back away and look at both sides and see validity to both of them. If you prefer, instead of trying to share that understanding, I can hop on the bash train to hurry myself to your ignore list instead. Might be worth considering just cutting to the chase if you look at what I'm trying to do so lowly to begin with.

It's mostly about setting a precedent that we've already seen set in other games. When you set the precedent you have the powers that be beginning to ask, "If they will pay for this, what else will they pay for?" Then you have a game that is completely piecemeal and the parts are overpriced for what you get. Then the argument becomes, "Well, you don't have to buy it, it's optional, you can just play the game." Though we all really know how that works though don't we? The boundaries are pushed back further with grinds being increased in order to 'encourage' you to just bypass the parts of the game you dislike. There will always be whales in games like this that will gladly pay through the nose to skip content or get advantages and good for them, they do a great job supporting devs who want to have obnoxious cash shops, meanwhile a decent chunk of the community vomits on themselves and finds something else to play. You set the precedent and the landscape changes, the community changes, the development...

Those games do bring in tons of money, so there's definitely an audience, though a lot of it is just a different perspective. I've been looked down upon because I don't enjoy reading novels, even though I can get through technical manuals and educational books regarding things I'm interested in just fine. Though somehow it makes me less smart because I don't enjoy reading through another persons imagination, it just makes me sleepy. Give me something where I can learn something interesting to me, like an immediately useful skill, and I'm on it. Of course, I can totally sit through movies (thoroughly enjoyed Blade Runner) and video game stories so it's not to say I can only remain grounded in reality and am a boring person. Why would I read the story if I can watch it? It's all just preference on what is enjoyable and sometimes the mode of consumption makes all the difference. Consider also the 'grind is in the mind' sentiments that pop up whenever we try to complain or discuss how to improve it. ...

Just checked with the local 'free traders', they're still offering me 'covert trading' missions. States do seem to override them in some cases, i.e. Boom Time Delivery interfering with the normal Anarchy mission generation. Stretching out further, reputation could also be stifling the ability to see them. Perhaps friendly and above with your local hooligans could be the ticket now.

I was thinking about the same possibility myself. I'd have to wonder how and what they are going to do to avoid upsetting people that like how it is now though. I can already see the 'instant gratification crowd is ruining the game again' posts in my head.

Probably just the experience of discovering where to find the modules and how to find them somewhat reliably. You'd obviously be very surprised at what people have fun or get satisfaction from. Figuring something out, looking back on it and saying 'Aha, I get it!' can be enough for some, regardless of how mundane or tedious you think it is. Look at the level of enjoyment people have been having for a couple years now just flying around the galaxy and taking pictures of planets. Not my idea of fun or satisfying, but they look at their screenshots, share them with people and probably get a sense of enjoyment that is higher than I experience anywhere else in the game. I'd be envious instead of asking if they're serious, or just I move on, because they are serious. Trying to convince them that they aren't having fun is a waste of time.

Just looking through the forums for a viable alternative to sothis/ceos missions and came across your invite to PM you for big earners? I used to do rares until I discovered 4K runs then discovered sothis and managed to get up to 500M in assets. I was in the middle of A rating my corvette then the latest nerf hit and now I'm stuck with around 25M in cr and a half built monster that needs finishing! Can you help? Cheers bud

Tribalistic Fanboyism is not good for the game, any game really. I Love Elite, but don't always love the implementation of the ideas nor the development philosophy.
