Lucky. I went looking for chemical manipulators. Got 0. And then bored, so I drove up the side of the nearby mountain.

You won't be able to visit her base till you've done the 500t of mining. Check the engineer page on the system panel: she'll (probably) show as red with the requirements you need to meet.

It's a procedurally generated game. It's kind of how they work.

Given all the sensors we have (general, ads, dds, wake, kill warrant) and similarly the manifold limpet controllers, and the slots they take up in the limited space we have available, I was thinking maybe instead of begging for extra slots, I'd suggest combing sensors and limpet controllers into a single slot with sub-slots - like the SRV hangers etc. (this is a variation of the splitting a size 2 slot into two size ones that comes up periodically...) Depending on the class of the sensor module (A-E) you'd get say up to 1 to 4 sub-slots to put sensors in - there could also be power considerations etc. Similarly for limpet controllers - you'd have a single limpet controller module, and then add sub-modules to control different types of limpets. I've knocked up a (OK hacked in paint) a very rough example:

I've done some of these... First thing - dismiss your ship, worst case then is you lose your SRV and restart in orbit back in your ship. Once you've got the scan, dying in the SRV won't fail the mission so just make a run for it, and don't recall your ship till it's safe. You'll (probably) find there's a shield-barrier-thing blocking a route to the comms point - this can be removed by blowing up the generator (if it's a high-sec base it'll also disable the defense turrets, but you'll still have to deal with the skimmers). Alternatively it's usually possible to jump over from another building; you'll need to explore a bit to find a route, but this is normally my plan A.
