They could be hooked into the BGS - factions looking to expand into new systems - if you do enough mapping missions then they will put a new stations into a system etc. Somewhat of a leap for the BGS, so instead we can just imagine that this is happening, imagination is important when playing games ;)

Yup - and if there's no outfitting it's red, and says 'needs outfitting'. Feel free to post an image of somewhere that does otherwise ;)

Wouldn't have a problem with that at all, this is a bonus ship, it's not like we have been waiting for this ship for years. I really wouldn't be surprised if it is just a beefed up T9 Heavy. The ship is obviously part of the Thargoid content, more than likely a more robust freighter due to the alien threat. I would definitely expect the Panther Clipper to be a new design of freighter.

Good point - we should have exploration missions - "bring me mineral readouts from 20 planets in Blae Eork" etc - that would be awesome! Edit: After all, that's why most explorers got backing ;)

Jaques has no money - can't even afford to get A rated modules shipped to his area. From an economic point of view everyone else is right, should be worth more when closer to civilisation, and that's the bubble (with a lesser bump for Colonia, and also for the mining stations (especially when you report rare minerals). Of course it should be worth less when already reported by other CMDRs, but that's a whole different discussion ;)

But it is completely lame if what you are wanting to do is take an explorer vessel out with a mining laser and a prospector to collect materials for jumponium on the way. Zero chance of getting enough tin by mining. The best ring I know of has 2% ring and has good material yields as it's metal rich. By my calculations, mining there I could possibly get 6 fragments of tin by prospecting and mining 100 roids. So it would cost me 100 limpets to get enough tin to build 8 new ones, and this is picking the best source I know of. I'm not impressed.

When I see this, a spiteful part of me always wants to reply, "Nah, I'm going to fly as dangerously as I can now." Granted I often regret doing that, afterwards at the rebuy screen.

I like the fact that I occasionally limp home from a CZ at about 8% hull and 50% modules, sometimes without even having claimed a single kill. I usually return with a grin on my face.

Exactly, I wouldn't take anything less than 600mj of shields with 4 PIPS in my T9 against a Cmdr in an engineered ship (Python or above) Can still carry 468 tonnes Combine all that with a correct escape or offensive procedure - Boosting towards the attacker during the cooldown. If it's a Python or Anaconda I'd happily have a go with some cascade torpedo's, if it's an FDL I tend to high wake ASAP. If I was forced to use a build like the Op's, my finger would be ready for the emergency drop, combined with flying a wide arc to the station. Best line of defence is not to get interdicted in the first place, especially if you are flying a wide arc and see an FDL heading towards you.

Thanks but I am looking for results versus setting up any controller programming the basics versus getting online and ED will see all the Saitek X-56 or Warthog commands.

Point defence is way too useful to get rid of. As for chaff vs heatsink, thats a difficult question. Chaff is completely useless against fixed weapons of course where as loosing lock does throw them off a little. Losing lock with gimbels just turns them in to fixed weapons so if your attacker has in in line of sight they can keep firing anyway. Chaff is far more effective against gimbels and for longer. Heatsinks on the other hand can be used in combination with SCBs and have uses outside of combat. If I had to choose for a small ship built for combat I would go for chaff I think.

Nice finds ! Always thought that there should be more sites in Blae Eork, but wanted to finish scanning Skaudai first: 3000 systems later I'm nearly done ;) (There must be one more ruin in these last 600 sites ) Have you reported the Brain Tree locations on their thread https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/293012-Geyser-and-Fumarole-Location-Catalog-and-Data-Collection ? (Just post, seems kinda disorganised). I know CMDR Baton was heading that way to look for trees.

BLEEDIN' HECK! It does work...... Since I started this game (about three years ago now), I have wanted to find an undiscovered ELW. I don't explore all the time, but I have made several serious exploration trips. Never did find one though. I am at the moment taking a passenger out to the cats eye nebula. Last night (two days after posting the above) I found one :D Thanks Old Duck :)

Not at all interested in powerplay. But some anarchy systems should be places you enter carefully, even in a fully engineered Corvette. Riedquat used to be like this in the original Elite. Just making it to the station was an achievement. Riedquat has been in anarchy control for a couple of weeks now. It could be an interesting place to visit, if it wasn't just a generic system like everywhere else.

If you are far enough outside the bubble (>500ly from inhabited systems I think), you won't get a pirate spawn when you drop into a random part of the ring. But I haven't noticed any other differences

How about coming at it from another angle? The game has always made it too easy for NPCs... They spawn right next to you, wherever you are in SC and no matter how many jumps you've made, then drop right next to you in normal space, regardless of how far from the drop point you travelled. Chances are they'll have rail guns, which they'll hammer you with relentlessly thanks to their dead eye accuracy (even after a supposed nerf). Have that happen for 1000 hours of game play and you'd probably be quite happy that they drastically reduced the amount of PP interdictions, if you didn't already leave your faction or quit playing. There's already enough other NPCs that'll happily take their place and spawn on your forever if you've got valuable cargo or a bounty. Why would you want to stack even more of them on yourself by signing up? Seems like a necessary change until better NPC spawning mechanics come.

Hooplah started a thread Console Tunre in PlayStation 4
Greetings, Console Tuner Has anyone used one of these adapters to get say an Xbox version of ED to work with a high end HOTAS or currently the PlayStation 4 (pro) version? I haven't seen them improve it for a few years. They promote a lot using a basic Xbox controller to play on all other gaming consoles. But will they provide the more complicated Saitek X-56, Warthog or even the Thrustmaster T-16000m. I'm thinking they can be programmed to work with any console but when we login into ED will it recognize all their abilities on a PS4 looking for a Thrustmaster HOTAS 4 designed for a PS versus more abilities? Maybe not.
