I would just like to point out that Frontier never really lived by the rules you are trying to foist on them. (i.e. in-game feature must be in accordance with already established lore, believable within the in-game rules, etc.)
They clearly stated that, however they do respect the lore and they try to stay reasonably realistic, the new features should favour gameplay and fun over lore and "realism". (realism in a sense of previous game rules)
I do think that "I don't like this feature" is a valid argument. But it's the only valid argument. To say "I don't like this feature because it changed the lore/mechanics/in-game rules/laws of in-game physics/..." is ridiculous. And that's exactly what people, who swing the word "immersion" around, are doing.
