chaff has no effect on missiles. breaking target lock by running silent and taking some distance, or by dropping a heatsink and taking some distance aleady works. looks to me as if what you are asking for is implemented?

there is one for sure, but how to find it. you'll get better with railguns fast. one of the best tricks i learned doing target practice in high RES is, fitting a small fixed (efficient) beam, which works as a laser pointer. i fly a sidey sometimes in high res... small focussed burst and overcharged MC corrosive. same could go on a dolphin, but the damage is still pityfull. so, i strongly suggest to go the whole mile, and not only going to be the horror of RES and CZ in a dolphin, which will already bring some bragging rights with it, but learn to use railguns with it. the damage of every other c1 hardpoint is just too stupidly low. high res with medium and large ships spawning are the best place for target practices - just help out the system security.

no, e-grade boosters, not thrusters, as i couldn't find the power to run two focussed PAs otherwise (and two focussed PAs and dirty drive on the a-class thrusters run a bit hot, so i didn't want to overcharge the powerplant any further). later i learned that thermal resistant and kinetic resistant boosters don't increae powerusage ... but won't change anything for the moment, as it is working very nicely.

an FDL with reduced hardpoits size from huge to large, and one medium hardpoint less, and better jumprange! this, and the panther clipper is all we need in game. and an imperial explorer! nothing else is needed, beside the moray starboat ... and, yes, if we get the imperial explorer, there should be a combat capable federal deepspace explorer ... the military AspE. but beside that, not looking at the gecko now, we basically don't need that many new ships, just a few. every year.

yay! dev quote for you @all: so while the availability of missions is down to the market (and instance), they are scaled to the player ... and i asssume that scaling includes payouts, or at least the available mission ranks.

as said, my exampel is only anecdotal evidence, so no evidence at all - something people claiming, and it might be fully down to RNG. the only hard proof would be, if two people in the same instance look at the same mission board and see missions with different payouts ... would be an interesting thing to test. i'm not too sure about it, as it conflicts with dev statements how the mission board is working/ is supposed to work.

and apparently your rank... but that's hard to proof (as you have only one rank at a time). but i have seen on several occasions playing in groups, that elite traders get better paying missions for a mission with the same rank than non-elite traders for what is roughly the same mission.

there are several threads on the matter (even one especially for exploration: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/354164-Explorers-wishlist-for-2-4-and-beyond) and than there is the official announcement thread to provide feedback and fears: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/354066-Elite-Dangerous-2-4-and-beyond /closing as duplicate

flying my vulture with two PAs, too. Those are focussed. bi-weave, thermal resistant and e-grade resistance augmented boosters. good big game hunter, and a good ship to learn to use PAs. but currently i'm in love with my viper mkIII...

cargo missions or bulktrading? because the latter (state depending trading like medicines to outbreak systems) hasn't changed in 2.3. and will net you 3000-6000 cr/t profit a-b-a, so something like 6-12 mio/h in a t9. that's where i made most of my Assets while doing elite in trading between 2.1. and 2.3., state depending trading in a cutter. it's a bit ironic that when you make elite in trading (> 1 000 000 000 profit), you'll have already much more CR than any ship costs ... more so than any trading ship!

you do know, where ruins and brain trees have been found since than? the furthest location from sol is closer to coloia than to sol ... and was found by an explorer, on an exploration trip. here is the original link: i suggest that you back your claims with sources.

can you back that with any source? because the places look very random for me, and the find was a random one as far as i know. here is the original "i found jaques"-post: https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/4qctl8/i_have_found_jaques_station/ ... "I'm sure FDev isn't happy with me today and I know some players that were working on the Jaques story aren't pleased either. " here is the discovery of barnacles in the witchhead nebula: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/227901-UAs-Barnacles-amp-More-Thread-6-The-Canonn?p=4095933&viewfull=1#post4095933 - "This was discovered after approximately 3 days of exploration. " and here is the original "i found brain trees"-post: https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/5q7g6n/just_found_this_while_exploring_for_guardian_ruin/ ...

everone loves more ships. whether they add something to the game or not. i personally think, concerning the panther clipper, that probably the question of how it gets into a station is one of the problems, and the other, that the market simulation (how simplified ever) isn't set up for 1000+ T of cargo.

again, please check yor facts. brain trees have been found first 4 months ago - by an explorer. the first alien hyperdiction wasn't by somebody of a group. i'm not really sure what you are talking about. if you are talking especially about the formidine rift, this does not extend to everything exploration. if it isn't about "something like the brain trees isn't found once a month by me."

i doubt, that "where" is even that fixed in a procedurally generated galaxy. i'm pretty sure that barnacles, brain trees etc. are spawned, not hand-placed. as for "when" - this is simply wrong. hit up the story of finding jaques. Michael Brookes on record that it was found much faster than expected, and it was found by an explorer, not by some group looking for it. same goes for Unknown Artifacts free-floaters - found later than expected by FDEV, and found by an explorer by pure chance. etc. pp. the groups you are naming - canonn especially - have been always clear about that. they investigate reportings of explorers and try to work out rules for spawns/"do science". they also try to brute force by surveying regions, and they analyse videos etc. they are sometimes successfull with that, sometimes they aren't. currently there is something in the game (commodity mark description) called "Unknown Link". it might be that groups are succesfull with finding it by brute force. but probably somebody will...

you are free to use get-rich schemes or not. you are also free to wipe your save anytime. while a server-wipe wouldn't be a free choice. so - why spoiling the game for those who choose to play the game freely one way or another? i personally sometimes wish for every commander being allowed to choose his ship of choice and a credit balance, it would put an end to these discussions. or for a "trainings system" where people could fly any ship they want in any configuration, so people would fly what they enjoy most.

did he? because of the old games of course, and because i want to empty markets all by myself. more cargo capacity is more cargo capacity! :D

that's not the case. the first UA-freefloaters, jaques, alien ships, the brain trees, many barnacles, many ruins etc. pp. have been found first by explorers by pure chance, not by those groups actvely searching for it. the chance is just very, very small for each individual explorer as for the "map" being mindblowing large. generation ships are found by people exploring the bubble, the last rare was found almost two years into the game by chance, despite of an active group looking for it ... that said, while i'm spendig large parts of my game as an explorer, i have never thought of it as finding secrets, i'm more into exploring and charting astronomical wonders - but each his own.
