    Agreed with Xyience. The only way I can think of to do such thing is to add labels directly on the radar, which would be extremely cluttered and unhelpful in the end, anyway.

    Plus there is that saying that they only can talk behind your back if YOU are not listening. Well, something along these lines. I wish there was a way to find out how many people are ignoring me. Sometimes it feels like I'm talking to the wall, so it's probably a lot :D

    systems/ factions in famine, you need to be in 1000 ls distance to find them, so some flying around might be needed. you can filter the galaxy map for states.

    :) am having problems, ty cmdr:) my screenshot will not download. damn. When i eventually get my screenshot dl to work i have a 16t fuel tank range and a 6t fuel tank range for comparison. Still think 6t tank is daft though:) They are in essence: 16t tank: 57(59)Ly range 6t tank: 60(60)Ly range These are both planetary exploration builds with a one bay SRV hangar fitted.

    it matches my expectations, but it doesn't match my testing in small population systems, both back in 1.4. as very recently. back in 1.4. 400K CR and 2,4 mio CR redeems had exactly the same effect (6 times the value!), and recently in 2.3.1 i could see a 4800 (!) cr bounty redeem having the same effect as 100 K CR - 300 k CR bounty redeem, both looking at the same faction and looking at the other factions - that's 20-60 times the value. of course this might be very different in large population systems, or it might be different when some thresholds via redeems are reached, or it might be different when weighing influence gains against losses, or it might be important for filling and emptying state buckets ... but that's out of reach for me to test, as i do my tests alone (as i want to make sure to know when i messed up). imho small population systems are only good for testing basic mechanics. but if the CR-value effect would be more pronounced in the basic mechanics, like i read your idea, i...

    well, i think that was patched - as it is literally working the last 3 days! anyway, there isn't something illegal to export. but trading one way to Eskridge Port the whole selection of profitable goods should net a lot of influence. good way to pick up missions on both ends!

    another good way to raise Green Party of HIP 112974 influence should be to import to Eskridge Port: Tobacco, Tea, Animal Meat, Coffee, Liquor, Beer, Fish, Fruit and Vegetables, Grain and Wine from la Cosa City... combine all those commodities each single run for maximum influence effect. both station are close to each other. unfortunately Eskridge Port doesn't export anything illegal in la Cosa.

    probably that's the difference. i still remember when i first got shot by a pirate doing a rare run and having a KWS installed in the old worlds (but survived somehow), i directly dropped a friends request to ask how he got my shiny new 5A shields down so fast ... and learned about railguns. fitted 6 of them on my AspE and fried not hitting anything with it. later i found out that he can see my position on the galmap, so i unfriended him ... till than i was most impressed that he was always there when i jumped into diso (i think), and gave some of my load as his railguns where so so so mean, and he was really good with them shooting out thrusters... I'm sure he was having a lot of fun talking about that stupid noob rare trader :-)

    It's set to 1 - Cannon, 2 - data scanner by default. I never tried to set it the other way around. When you do, does it resets back to default, or do you mean it disappears completely?

    great story :-) in the beginning i had zero idea how large which ships are. or how small. compared to mine. also i had no idea how long it would take to drop a condas shields, and that was much before bi-weaves, cutter, corvettes and engineering. so, that guy could have been me. if coriolis is correct, it would take my engineered eagle 5 minutes 44 seconds to strip the shields of my trading cutter.

    visiting the diffferent types of ruins is amazing, anyway pick up a ram tah mission, whether you hand in 5 or 99 scans, you still will be paid. i did the whole circuit without modeswapping (so 99 scans) in a viper mkIV. also visit one of the brain tree woods, which are in some ruins systems ... they are very special, and most probably artifacts of genetical engineering. if you haven't seen barnacles, combine that with visiting an alien ship. only go to those guarded by battlecruisers ... it's great fun to slip below a capital ship, drive the srv below there etc. and if you haven't done it, find an unknown probe from an ammonia world in the UA shell, and scout an UA. - that tour i did with a CMKIV, also a great shortrange explorer!

    The main problem I see over and over is people having the inability to understand that the game was not built to support a story in the traditional sense. I go back to David's original comment "We cannot have a thousand rescue the princess stories" I guess most people have just become tired of explaining it.

    Wrong. Only turrets in "Forward fire" and "Target only" can be triggered. If turrets are set at "Fire at Will" they are defensive only. They have to be set in a firegroup, yes, but trigger doesn't do anything. They only fire when fired upon. It can be circumvented by 1) having one fixed or gimballed weapon to "tag" the target 2) Switch the turrets to one of the other modes, tag the target and switch back. but all in all, having the turrets in fire at Will mode isn't the bestest idea if you ask me. (I know nobody asked me)

    i have bouht an orca in 1.4., and finally fly it in 2.3. (okay, i used it for some mining inbetween, and for some pve piracy) :) share the impression of the OP. perfect ship for longer or stacked passenger missions. better cockpit for exploration missions than the dolphin imho.
