Pretty sure your card will stick to the first output used for the primary display, it can be changed, but not sure how. I suspect in the graphics settings on your PC + a reboot. I'm a few hours away from my machine, so can't test it. That adapter is fine, I have one like it for my Rift. Z...

G5 rolls don't matter too much for bubble ships, anything in the top half (or better yet, top third) of the range is plenty. With a Python, the difference is maybe a jump or two from edge to edge (or somewhere like Sothis to Sol). When it comes to exploration, particularly the rim, and areas like the Formidine Rift, or any sparsely populated (by stars) area of space, all bets are off, and every single 0.1 lightyear counts. 0.3 lightyears is what stopped me from getting to Beagle Point on my first big exploration trip in 3301 - it took 6 months to get there, and you bet I was just a little peeved. It was pretty big - well over 30% to shields and thrusters, and that wasn't all. It had stronger shields than an anaconda, and handled like a Viper in terms of flight model, boosted to well over 400 (450 from memory?), it was a seriously epic ship - truly overpowered at the time, and it did need a bit of. A balance - but FD have a habit of wildly swing from polar opposites rather than small adjustments when it comes to "balance". Keep in mind, at the time, making money was hard, there were very few large ships around - a player in an anaconda was a rare sight, and just about required a message to the CMDR flying it asking them how they liked it. the Python was not too far short of that status, I did not see many of them, and was the only one in my group to have one, and very rarely saw another. Z...

"Reducing the grind" will I think only make Engineer mods EVEN MORE obligatory because you can be sure a higher % of the playerbase will take them. example; The way Engineers were originally designed you needed commodities, this made engineering a special mission. Butthurt though, getting interdicted, after some whining that grind was removed and now "you HAVE TO HAVE Mods for PvP" (to quote the usual argument - because 99/100 other PvP players have modded ships). With the exception of a handful of difficult to find materials for grade 5 blueprints .. picking up materials after a battle, running some missions, especially mixing space based and surface missions, everyday stuff, will provide you with a ton of materials for some really useful engineering. If you want to grind for a near god-roll - go for it but at least that's a personal choice at the moment.

Edelgard +1 Yep, there was a very early video of a panel MB was on, back in beta 2 or gamma, where he said there are unreachable clusters from which the Milky Way looks stunning, and if I recall correctly he hinted that it would be nice to find a way for us (FD) to allow players to experience that view one day. I'm pretty sure the vid was taken by an audience member, but I've never been able to find it again. Was on YT up to a couple of years ago. I wonder if it was actual globular clusters he was referring to. Possibly generated with the stellar forge, but are just not viewable on the gal map at the moment. Edit. @Allitnil, hmm, could possibly be those PSR clusters he was referring to then.

No, no, no. This is all wrong. Dear Frontier. Address the nice people and call them dear. You're 2 words in and they already like you. "What a nice chap", they're thinking, "I wonder what he's got to say". Now pay attention, because this next one is very important. Almost mandatory. I love Elite Dangerous, I have played <insert correct number> of hours, but ... Now you've catered to the nice people by telling them you love their creation. At the office they're reading this, nodding and winking to each other going": "Eh?". Upon reading the "but" however they get worried. "Oh dear, I wonder what's bothering this nice young man. Maybe we could help him out". You're just piling up the good will by now. <rest of the post> I hope this has been helpful to you. Happy posting! :)

Sidgoir is much smaller than the other permit-locked regions I have been to - it is a sphere about 200 LY across, whereas the others are about 1000 LY across. There seems to be an abundance of life-bearing gas giants here and I have also located two Earth-like Worlds and an Ammonia World, as well as plenty of green systems, one of which is 'gold' - it contains all the elements currently available from surface mining. I am ready to move on but am waiting for 2.4 to check whether anything changes with its arrival. It will therefore probably be about another week or so before I write up the report. Until then I might either take a break, or just go looking for some good scenery to fly around in one of my fighters. . I have noticed numerous tags in the region close to the border, most of which are just from one other CMDR - it seems someone else has done some survey work here but the systems with the Earth-like and Ammonia Worlds were all untagged.

It's nice to think so but, unfortunately, not the case. From what we know of how the proc-gen works and where I've been I'm pretty confident that the number of horizontal edge systems not yet reached is in the order of a few dozen. For the above & below the plane records there are fewer than 200 farther out systems in each direction. There are obviously some hand placed systems as well (Cygni X-3, those PSR systems far from the plane, etc) but they don't add up to many. Now, if the proc-gen galaxy were upgraded to include the galactic halo and globular clusters... I would be extremely happy to be proved wrong, but I believe he was referring to the PSR stars that are over 10,000 LY from the galactic plane. They correspond to real stars that are in real globular clusters. But there's no evidence of any proc-gen components.

On your basis of comparison yes I agree. Most games from those eras have more to do than current games. Thats largely because the modern graphics, networking and all sorts of other things detract from content and gameplay. It was so much easier to add things and do things in the past and this is seen on all genres and most games. Also expectations are a lot lot different. However, If we use an alternative base of reference such as current players or hours spent or whatever the chart flips on its head. I know which I'd pay more money for.

Gotta side with the others here. I agree what you point out needs fixing but to say it's the biggest issue, the game will die, claim things are easy, assume everyone supports you, claim you've answered all the counter points, assuming you are more worthy than others and come across as you have I honestly hope those fixes get bumped down the list. Hit so many cliches in this thread I'm trying to think of some that are missing but drawing a blank. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N16G0Bx2auA Also my personal pet hate: If you post on the forums you are asking for opinions, you cannot then state: "I don't give a toss what you say". Speaking of, if thats the attitude I guess I no longer value what you say either, goodbye :)

I remember Michael Brookes saying once or twice in livestreams that there were extragalactic clusters in the game and that the view of the Milky Way from there was stunning... . Perhaps we need the means to make a semi-controlled mis-jump - take a chance that you will end up a really long way from your intended destination with a damaged FSD but if you get it right you can make the huge jump needed to reach those clusters. Then you have the same problem getting home... . . Even if this were done, however, with any addition of new content or opening up of new areas, there is always a question of 'what then?' that the designers have to face. All content has a lifetime during which it is new and/or challenging before how-to guides etc. appear and shared experience makes things simpler, or at least shows people how to mitigate the risks and increase the rewards. The way to solve this is to make Exploration the first step in the process of Expansion. This also provides a reason to explore and consequences for...
