It takes more roles than just programmers to develop a game (or any software project). From those 100 people working on ED, only a much smaller group wil be programmers/developers. You need game developers, server developers, devops team, art designers, 3d artists, sound artists, leads/managers, game designers, etc, etc. As a server developer myself, I would bet my own nuts that having 100 developers working on the same project at the same time would result into a complete mess, unless the project is extremely large and extremely well compartmentalized.

What? People play games like they want to play them, instead of playing games like others want them to play? Absolutely shocking news!

Step 1: Use collector limpets. The more the merrier. 4 pips to shields while waiting for the limpets to return. Chaff. Step 2: Profit.

There's alot to be said for just progressing naturally in the game, collecting whatever mats, ranks and credits doing whatever you like, be it chasing every last detail to the highest G5 roll like our PvP meta rocket surgeons or just being random BKing trading, taxi, hunter what have you. No one forces anyone to grind every Pokemon either.

Horizons adds a whole new dimension to the game. Of course you should buy it and no one is going to know better than yourself -jump back in the water it's fine.

There are only 3 ships I could never sell. Cobra mkIII, AspX and Clipper. Also have a Python that I use every now and then (it lacks soul) and a Courier and Cutter, but they are mothballed.

Skyrim takes hundreds of hours to fully "complete" (excluding radiant quests). And progression isn't really all that different either, you kill NPC's, pickup loot, level up and get better gear /enhance powers so you can keep killing NPCs and so on. Like in ED, yo ustart with crap gear and skills, and get better gear and skills over time. Like in ED you don0t get a Cutter in a day, in Skyrim you won't get all shouts and ebony armour in a day either. It isn't really that much different from ED in that regard. What makes Skyrim special is all the little things that provide mountains of wonderful immersion that makes us forget that we are actually doing the same thing over and over (and don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Skyrim). But in gameplay terms, it's the same. In ED you do some stuff to get more credits that allow you to get other ships and better gear so you can keep doing the same stuff. Just like in Skyrim (or pretty much every other game). What I don't understand is why is this considered "a...

The only thing in the video that makes sense is that there isn't any skill based progression, everything is based on endless repetition of trivial tasks. I agree that progression needs skill, and some aspects of the game should be less grindy like military ranking or gathering materials. I would also make outfitting far less expensive than it is now, while keeping the ships themselves expensive. However, most of the youtuber's suggestions and alternatives are completely moronic... So we would get new ships not buy purchasing them with in-game money, but by “killing an anaconda while flying a vulture” and so on… What the frak?! :D So getting ships would work like steam achievements and similar crap? :D Also loved at how he speaks like some game design illuminati while at the same hinting at things like “why not getting ships and modules for free?…”, and speaking of exploits as a "good thing for the game". Yeah, top game design here lol, it's a wonder he doesn't work at CD Projekt Red...

Where did this latest trend of LEP paranoia came from anyway? FD never even gave the slightest hint of anything that could mean the LEP holders would have to pay for any kind of content updates. People are imagining things and worriying about stuff that only exist in their own heads.

I was getting lots of follow up missions around the pleiades. Now I've moved to Beku since sunday and I'm starting to get them as well. Maybe the frequency is related to some BGS factors, I can't say fur sure as I don't actually do them, but I see them frequently on the mission boards. I would suggest you to move somewhere else for a while and stick to it for a few days (in case local faction rep has something to do with it, I was allied to pretty much every single faction in the pleiades).

I see much more follow up missions than I ever did, to be honest. Not that I actually do them, as currently there doesn't seem to be any point in it compared to regular missions, but they sure are there as I see them quite frequently on the mission boards, usually more than one at a time. As for the SRV missions I can't say as they are the ones I dislike the most.

Unless you're playing with a mouse and keyboard, in which case the mouse becomes very useful. Would like to be able to select a star from the starfield though, many times while exploring I saw a quite proeminent giant star and had to resort to much galmap fiddling to find out which star was it.
