Thanks for the advice! It looks like it might be something that some people have seen before, though if it is it only occurs intermittently. As I said, the site at Eol Prou QX-T d3-0 2ca 20.93/-11.44 does exist - I visited it this afternoon on the family desktop and it was only a couple of hours later on my laptop that it was a no-show. I got a couple of good screenshots of that site from the desktop so I'll see about uploading one or two for reference. The Eol Prou LW-L c8-211 system I forgot has been renamed to Centralis, so I can confirm that site exists also - it just happened to be inactive when I was there. I am not able to confirm the site at Eol Prou LW-L c8-324 3ba 13.39/138.746 but I see that is not on FalconFly's list, so next time I go back there I'll check the other site on that moon. . During my recent explorations on the borders of the permit-locked regions at NGC 2286, Bovomit, Sidgoir and Froadik, I have encountered numerous worlds with suitable conditions for volcanism and organics....

Today I tried to visit several known geyser and fumarole locations near Colonia because I've not had any success at all in finding sites, ever. I encountered problems and wondered if anyone here has seen anything similar. . First I used the family desktop and quickly found the site at Eol Prou QX-T d3-0 2ca lat: 20.93 long: -11.44. This was helpful, as now I knew what one looked like, both from my ship and from my SRV. I was surprised the tiny blue circle POI was so similar to others I have previously seen but not been able to trace but it was enough for me to home in on it and it was active and clearly visible from several km away - very clear once above it. So far, so good. . Most of the time I play on my laptop, however, so I next visited the site at Eol Prou LW-L c8-211 A6c lat: -3.89 long: -151.14 using my laptop. If I had not known it was there, there was no way I would ever have noticed it. It was not active but there was a blue circle. I used my GU-97 fighter to get close and the fumaroles were...

Can't argue with this. The only reason to not do this is to make Xbox controllers more "equal" by effectively nerfing the potential of KBM/HOTAS. This is a terrible way to treat PC gamers though.

I agree that they should be challenging, and I'm not worried about it getting too easy since I'm sure Frontier will just notch up the difficult with each new tool we get, just as they've already done. As for the wakes, you should read the descriptions on the materials you can collect from Thargoid corpses. ;)

OP, I suspect the clunkiness lies between the chair and the desk. Sure it would be great if the device had a fire group, but it's WAY easier to use than an ECM. An ECM requires precise timing and counters a fast attack. The anti-EMP only requires charging. It's dead easy to use because the Thargoid EMPs are very predictable.

The clue to Sarasvati was supposed to come from an LP (edit, at Jotunheim 7A). There should be more LPs pointing to the other Equinox/Thunderchild units, and those LPs will be nearer to Sol in a smaller volume to search. How about listing the systems within a shell (say 20 ly thick) the same radius as that LP? The shell thickness could be rduced if too many systems produced, or vice versa.

Would LOVE to be able to fly an untethered SLF! Especially if we could engineer it a little. Not much, just enough to make it a little more durable and with better power distribution. Maybe get some experimental effects like corrosion, concordant sequence, etc. Maybe limit it to having only Super Cruise, so it requires a carrier ship in the system, or ship transfers to move around the galaxy.

New POI . POI name: The Wishing Well Nebula Galmap ref: Bya Ail ZE-R e4-170 Nebula type: 'Planetary' nebula / black hole . Located just over 1 KLY from the Golden Chalice Nebula in The Festival Grounds, this tiny blue-purple nebula surrounds a system consisting of a black hole and a F-type star with no planets. From inside, the nebula-rich scenery is seen through a blue haze, as if underwater, although the well of the primary needs to be treated with respect! Rumour has it that those visiting the nebula will have luck in finding Earth-like Worlds.

(Note: the two Earth-like Worlds in Eephaills YF-W d2-93 have the same url because their images are in the same album to avoid duplication of the star type and Sol distance screenshots - if you want me to change that just let me know. Also, if you want distances to Colonia for any of the others, just ask - I should be there for a few days. There were two other ELWs discovered on the Froadik border not reported here, one of which should be co-discovered with CMDR Anuranium, so I would encourage him to sell the data on them.) . The Aronnax Expedition has now surveyed the borders of 4 out of the 10 known distant permit-locked regions and I am currently spending a few days in Colonia to repair and maybe refit and also see some volcanic sites before moving on to do the rest. The last leg of the journey, from the Froadik borders and through The Festival Grounds to Colonia produced some remarkable finds but this is a diverse group of planets. Between them they orbit stars of spectral type A through to T, they...

The Pierre Aronnax has now docked and repaired in the Colonia region and sold all the data gathered since visiting the asteroid base in the Soul Nebula (except for one system with an Earth-like World near the Froadik border, that was first visited by CMDR Anuranium). The decision to visit Colonia has already proven worthwhile with numerous interesting findings en route. Even just going by the numbers, it was a stunning series of finds: six Earth-like Worlds in five systems; eight Ammonia Worlds and a previously undiscovered nebula centred on a black hole. . In heading for Colonia from the Froadik borders I stayed above the Galactic Plane at first and as I approached The Festival Grounds, I decided to visit the Golden Chalice Nebula, as this was closest to my path. This was where the interesting finds began. Firstly there were two Earth-like Worlds in Oephaivsky sector, of which the second, Oephaivsky WI-K d8-1350 5 is in an unusual trinary configuration with a Y dwarf and a gas giant with water-based life,...

Easy done. Cant recall the number of times I've failed to take a screenshot or video of something interesting in the heat of the moment. Now I find the video of two INRA bases logs has no recorded audio & I deleted them, bah, humbug!!

Froadik border summary, from the Aronnax Expedition Map Ref: Froagh YJ-A d32 . In early October 3303, the Aronnax Expedition surveyed the borders of Froadik, looking for signs of spacefaring activity as well as outdoor worlds and 'green' systems with all the materials needed for FSD boosting. A suitable location for a 'Forward Base' was discovered just over 650 LY from the border: Froagh YJ-A d32, which hosts both an Earth-like World and an Ammonia World. The permit-locked Froadik region is spherical and about 1000 LY across, centred close to the Galactic Plane. The border region was found to be unusually rich in water worlds and six Earth-like Worlds were also found within 100 LY of the border, most notably one system, Ploadaea OG-Y d11, which harbours both an Earth-like World and an Ammonia World. The detailed report on this region can be found in the expedition journal here:

Looks like there is at least one more Thunderchild unit to find, probably several. Perhaps they'll provide the archive. ModishNouns provided a list of likely search systems-only about 1330 of them. Someone put them into a Google sheet document to mark search progress, but when I looked only one had been searched.

I think the reason people are asking is because it seems outwardly that Frontier isn't giving Elite priority. The game has pretty clearly hit a speed bump. Aliens are very very cool, but not exactly full featured content. More of a basic boss fight with some cool graphics effects. We don't even have any story-driven motivation to fight them yet other than "target practice." And since I'm being straight, the Beyond set of release stuff are things that many people expected already within the last two years. Don't get me wrong, we are THRILLED you guys are finally talking about fleshing out Exploration, but 14 months?? After, waiting 30 months already, that is a crazy huge runway you guys are giving yourselves. I mean we have open wallets here ready to throw money at Frontier. We're just waiting for you guys to release stuff at this point. Yeah, I know the Beyond stuff is free, but for pete's sake, launch a Kickstarter if you need to kick it up a notch. 14 months for Exploration overhauls... I...

Well, if you're sure it was previously scanned with ADS (not intermediate scanner) then sounds like FD have added 4 new planets which seems suspicious-definitely worth checking out!
