Got my Adder time down to 15:15 from yesterday's 15:30! I am not submitting yet, as I know I can do better - just thinking of new approach techniques :D My engineered Cobra Mk3 is already waiting for it's turn too. This is addictive!

This ----> For me, I do most of my bounty hunting less for massive money, more for fun in Imperial Eagle. Can take out Clippers, though probably need an RTB for repairs and reload after one of those. I tend to patrol in supercruise dropping in on any and all USS or distress calls with a threat level over 1 while scanning ships passing through and interdicting the wanted ones. RES is a bit too much like farming for me though I do enjoy Combat Zones in the same ship (hair raising but low rebuy if the worst does happen). It's not max profitable maybe but worth trying out imo, as getting into station with only seconds of life support remaining is a hoot and assist vouchers on a few Corvettes, even better. Purely incidental but my iEagle has no jump range, whatsoever. Good luck!

But Anaconda IS better than Sidewinder and Cutter IS better than Eagle.

I agree the travel equation is complicated because gravities affect acceleration. Gravity wells (planets) also move in the game, so even the route to the same station changes over time. Essentially it is a good idea to get out of the shipping lane, away from the orbital plane, not only because higher acceleration .. but fewer interdictions too. I probably wouldn't have a home base beyond 1,000Ls from the jump point (because you might fly that route a lot) but I haven't timed the flight either, mostly because I'm not sure flight time always counts as dead-time. Depends what you're hauling of course but I've been flying quite a few illegal passengers lately, so tend to spend the flight getting ready to run the gauntlet of station security, as well as flying what I feel is the optimum route. At the end of the day (if this seems like a game design flaw or something), it aint .. the galaxy is what you'd call BIG .. and any speed you get to above 1 x the speed of light is really a bonus. There has at times...

rootsrat replied to a thread Meta Discussion Whats the best ship for bounty hunting? in Ships of Elite
Viper Mk3 would be a step in the right direction. It's a dedicated fighter, really cool to fly! Cobra Mk3 is an all-rounder, but copes quite well in combat, especially bounty hunt. Vulture is the ultimate small bounty hunter. This advice is based on the fact that you have an Adder class ship currently, so I have not posted about the more expensive options - but obviously after Vulture there are other capable ships, but they are big and expensive :) Good luck in your endeavours! Fly safe, Cmdr o7

You're not a legendary hero in Elite Dangerous. Never will be. That's one of the main points of the game :P

Yeah. Nice things to have are better got, with a good attitude towards the devs and game than a bad one. True, all NPCs must die .. but Frontier aren't NPCs and there's a lot more in play, real world. My 2c.

While I agree that kids hear and learn the bad words from all over these days, at the same time ask yourselves - do you really want to be yet another source of that? I fully support FDEV in their family friendly policy. Just because everyone does it, doesn't mean that FDEV has to sink to that low as well.

It's been a while since I've reported anyone (not been griefed for a long time now to be honest and even in the past it only happened couple of times during my 2,5 year career in ED :) ), but as far as I remember you only need to know Cmdr name - you input all the details manually and then just press "Report" button.

Agreed, griefing (aka harassment) has many different faces. It's not always about one player destroying another "for teh lulz".

Fair enough. But you know what I mean. I actually accept the fact that a wing of players in highly engineered ships can attack me. That's part of the game for me, but if the same wing interdicts a newbie Sidey... Like I said - a lot depends on context. And FDEV should judge what's acceptable and what's not. The main point is to report players that harass you, but be reasonable about it and don't just report anybody that dares to shoot at you. I know that our lovely community and reasonable don't often go together, but here's hoping...

Sirius Corp has many enemies and the corporation itself doesn't come as crystal clean, good intentions corporation, based on their history. No surprise that there will be people trying to reduce their influence in the populated space. What's the deal with MetaDrive Inc., Sirius? Are you gonna come clean about that? What are your ties to Thargoids? We know you're hiding something!

Good post, OP. I wholeheartedly support this notion. I would also add to this - REPORT the griefers via in game report player tool. Harassing other players is not allowed in Elite and - while some may not agree that for example dropping bombs on a parked ship is harassment - if you feel you have been griefed (as opposed to ganked/attacked/killed in PVP, see below!), report it and let FDEV be the judge of that. They are Game Masters here and they have a final word in this. Now, before the PVP players jump and crucify me - there is a very fine line between ganking and griefing. Someone interdicting, attacking and killing me my exploration equipped Conda is complete different to someone ramming a Cutter in their Sidewinder in order for the station to destroy the Cutter. It all depends on the context. Ganking is killing someone, griefing is harassing someone. There is a difference between the two, although sometimes it's not a big one. Griefing is not PVP. Coming onto someone's ship in Multi Crew and firing...

It's not bad, though it's not great. There are plenty of more varied activities I could do that pay more than that. 10 hours of ruins gathering is a grind, make no mistake, and as such it should pay very well. And it's only 10m/hr if you are using a guide or spreadsheet to optimise your approach, something you've already shown disdain for. Someone trying to do this without those external resources would be lucky to get it done in the week and probably looking at something like 2m/hr. That is poor. Guess what? The ruins have been bugged from the start: The pillars didn't reactivate after a timeout like they should. Open and PG would often activate the wrong pillars when multiple commanders were in an instance (this was the only way to complete the mission before 2.3.10). Tech 6 was missing entirely for solo players. The last was fixed in 2.3.10 so there has been less than a month of this mission actually working as intended. You're right that we're not entitled to communication from FD, but it's a...

This is incorrect. One of the codex entries was bugged and therefore it was not possible to complete the mission in solo until this was fixed in 2.3.10, less than a month ago. From the patch notes: "Fixed an issue whereby the Technology 06 codex entry was missing from Ancient Ruins" I had been waiting for this fix before taking the mission (since you only have a week to complete it), but since 2.3.10 dropped there has been a focus on the new unknown sites stuff in the Pleiades so I hadn't got to it. I could have done it last week except I didn't know there was any urgency to do it. So I think it's pretty unfair to have made this change this way.

I'm really unimpressed by the nerfing of the Ram Tah mission. It was in the game for months but it's only been working properly for what, 3 weeks? I was planning on doing it soon as the 100m would get me to trade elite, but now I won't bother.

Hi fella, you wanted a reminder to share your market data dump on Dropbox

    Thanks again,

  9. Missed your post as I was away from Ed and the forums for a few days. Thanks for your kind words. Good to see that I'm not the only one with 'frustation'. Thanks for your trade routes, I will try them, if/when I have the money for them as they are quite expensive iirc. As I said in the OP or later on I'm using slopey's trade tool atm but even that doesn't get me going. Luckily next week on the 24th PB2 will be released with a 3 systems. I guess the market will flatten quit quickly again after that so I MUST play it directly on that evening.

I will start this evening again if I can manage it. I will keep you informed. Thanks for the offer of flying with me in the future. Would be nice. But for that to happen 'communication' must be in the game first. I think comm. will change ED quit a bit.

    Hi Wolverine,
I just wanted to say thanks for posting your 'frustration' message on the forums. Your comments and the following replies have helped me a lot to stay calm and think clearly. I'm also PB-frustrated as an 80's speccy Elite player :-)
I've been grinding on the Chango-Dahan route, making a relatively safe 343 profit per unit for trading Tantalum from Dahan to Chango and then with Domestic Appliances from Chango to Dahan for 79 unit profit. Not great, but good for docking training!
Please let me know if you have any success gaining monies from the comments in that forum thread or elsewhere. I'd be very happy to fly with you into a scuffle in the future - but need to get a stick and brush up on my dogfighting skills first!
