Greetings Park Managers!

Thank you for your lovely reactions to last week's Feature Focus about Terrain Painting and Scenery Improvements - we're happy you liked it! In the second Feature Focus we wanted to highlight some park-specific improvements coming in the free summer update - changes that will make it even easier to craft amazing parks of your own.

Gyrosphere Improvements

We know that many of you enjoy letting your guests experience enclosures using the Gyrospheres, but want a little bit more freedom in how you can use them. With the summer update we’re adding new gate features which will allow you to expand your Gyrosphere tours through multiple enclosures!

Here's how it works: a gate highlight automatically appears when a section of gyrosphere track would go through a fence. You’ll see a ghost gate, similar to when placing ranger gates, that will let you position it anywhere along the fence. Once placed, the gate will remain closed until a gyrosphere approaches, and only then will it open to let that gyrosphere through. They’re always a No Through Road for dinosaurs, though, no matter their size!

You can place as many gates as you need across as many enclosures as you want – if the track fits and the corners aren’t too sharp, then the world is open to you. Your tour ambitions are no longer bound to just a single habitat!

We're also including some new audio tour voice overs to give your guests an even greater experience whilst viewing your dinosaurs. We’ve added more freedom to the camera whilst inside and hide the guests so you don’t get those pesky fingers in the way of your view (perfect for Capture Mode!). Finally, you can now also adjust the number of vehicles on the tour to help you tailor the experience to your own specifications.

Challenge Mode Additions

Challenge Mode is fun for many players and we’re adding some additions to make it even better for you, such as random dig site profiles when starting a new game. This will give you an extra challenge when creating your parks and mix it up a little so you can enjoy multiple different playthroughs!

Building Fixes

As well as introducing a selection of new features and additions in our summer update, we’ll also be including a number of bug fixes and tweaks thanks to your reports and feedback. Some of these fixes will directly improve placement of buildings with a new tooltip to show issues caused by already-placed buildings, specific messages when a building is obstructed by water, allowing smaller movements when rotating a building during placement, and more! All of these will be listed in the update notes when the summer update is available.

We’ve improved a whole bunch of general “building” stuff, but to keep it brief:
  • New hover tooltips improvements to help you manage your park;
  • Staff and guest information added to shops;
  • Power consumption when in power mode;
  • Active slot information when hovering over Hatcheries and Research Centre.
The “Manage” tab in Shops and “Dispense” tab in Feeders are now the default tabs you see.

More news about the summer update coming soon!

Yay! Multi-enclosure Gyrospheres!!! Yeeeeeesss!! 😄

Now draw a surprise-bomb of some new attraction (viewing dome?) kept secret and this will the best of summers!

Edit: almost forgot and maybe a stupid question but... these gates aren't only bound to concrete fences, are they?

This is so uplifting! Thank you! The gyrosphere tours will be just as interesting with the new gates and audio. Are the audio resposive to the dinosaurs you encounter in the tour?

Also the random dinosaur profiles is what makes the replay ability of challenge mode just as amazing if it means we get to have different dinosaurs per play through. I am curious how it will work it in gameplay.

One last question, will the rain effect be fixed in this patch? I apologize if I sound like a broken record but I do wish to have the rain fixed in challenge and sandbox mode. Seeing the world go wet makes my play through worthwhile.

Thank you for the updates! :D

Thanks Frontier, we are moving in the right direction, i liked the door between enclosures for the gyrosphere, a subtle but well-added touch. I have a question. Staff and guest information added to shops is the same is it the same information that appears in the park administration menu?

Saludos cordiales

The staff and guest information will show things such as power, guest limit and staffing level. It's a building specific menu so not the same as the park admin menu.
