Thread: EDSM - Elite Dangerous Star Map

    Hi
Used EDSM quite a long time but I don't know if I use it the right way by submitting distances. I do it manually (one by one) but I don't know if I ever can get a "Triangulater" badge or higher. Do I need an extra prog? Or do I something wrong? Contacted also friends and community but no answer on this topic. It can't be that I should 100K distances by hand. Any idea? Thank you in advance.

I am in exactly the same position.
Been trying to find out how to actually "submit distances" for a wee while now without any joy.

Yep, you've got to submit them by hand.

If you're on PC then the trilateration panel in ED Discovery- link in sig - is the easiest way to enter them. You can add distances from your position to the 20 wanted systems quite quickly that way when you get the hang of it - tabbing through the system name copies it into the clipboard so you can alt-tab back to the game and search quickly.

You do need to enter them all by hand, the Trilaterator badge is a significant effort - looking at https://www.edsm.net/en/top/distances only 29 people have got it (there may be a few others with private profiles...)

It's only 10k distances though - nobody's entered 100k. Not even me - and I'm nearly 25k ahead of Inhumierer in second place.

Can we do a data extraction of our first discoveries from EDSM into an Excel sheet?

I don't think we provide that.

Ah, thought I remembered seeing a list of my first discoveries in there. My mistake!

They are available under the celestial bodies search, you can filter by scanned and first scanned.
Also now the list of bodies on systems page get dashed border when not mapped by you, and plain border when mapped, green when scanned, red when not scanned.

    See:

Just want to remind you that I found a mistake on your material page. There is a mismatch in the maximum "Guardian technology component" line.

Should be fixed again! Rarity don't follow the regular max limit, I think it's fixed in 3.3?

Edit: There are there now so never mind.

A couple of days ago I exported my data from EDDiscovery. Today I import my journals from ED.

I am Triple Elite, but I do not have any of the related badges awarded in my profile on the EDSM website.

Also the number of hyperspace jumps is off by 10,000 and total hyperspace distance is off by 3,000 from my ED statics totals as shown on my ED stats page in ED.

After I imported by data from EDDiscovery I received a bunch of badges related to exploration like first discover, find a ELW, travel over 65,000 LY's from Sol; but I do not have any related to trade /combat / explorer ranks.
