We play in MOBIUS, use FGE channels on DW team speak, meet landed at Camp 4 and start by forming into wings.

Today we will be visiting this place:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eagle_Nebula

I haven't yet had the time to sit down to look up (pun intended) the in-game locations for some of the noteworthy features in the Eagle nebula...
I've heard that the "pillars of creation" is not present within the game, but we should be able to visit some of the brightest stars, star forming regions etc.

Hopefully I´ll have a list of waypoints ready for tonight - and if you know any interesting systems that we ought to visit in this meet up, please post about them in this thread.
    Hi Corbin,
    I hope you're well.

I just wanted to let you know that unfortunately I won't be able to make it for the meet up tonight as I've been called away with work. Apologies.

I hope you all have a great time and finds lots of awesome stuff! Hope to catch up with you all at Waypoint 5.

    Fly safe.

Yikes! New update release and the launcher claims it to be a 3 hour download... I guess I might not be able to make this meetup myself... :/

Phew... was only a slight delay...

I've reached the NGC 6357 nebula:

    Some places to land on:

Drywall gypsum with some red brick scratch marks on NGC 6357 SECTOR ZL-B A14-0 2.

Four parallel rows on NGC 6357 SECTOR DL-Y D27 1

I was also given access to the Kamzel group with >600 participant number. I'll check Kamzel and Mobius both every now and then, to see if anyone is nearby for a meeting.

Still working my way toward Waypoint 2, but wanted to mention that while my role is listed as Cartographer, I am also a fuel rat. Let me know if you run out of fuel and I will try to reach you as soon as possible!

    Edit: meant Waypoint 3!

    Hi Corbin,
I don't suppose you've got a suggested route for the trip from The Eagle Nebula (wp4) to NGC 6357 (wp5)?

Any guidance/ help would be very much appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

Sorry - I don't know of anything of particular interest in that region.

But also this sunday, jan 31st, 18.00 IGT at camp 5!

This will be at the same time as the main DW event "Leaving home behind" - and our program will be to take part in that event.

Guys. I've made it camp 5 and headed off to RL. Hoping to get some buggy time later but definitely planning to get up early tomorrow to make the event.

I also installed teamspeak last night and connected to both FGE and DW but to be honest couldn't figure out what to do after that.
    So questions....
Is FGE planning to do the event in Mobius? (I haven't been accepted into Erimus or Kamzel group [yet?])
Do I need to use the teamspeak and if so which one (and which folder/channel?)
Is there a way to make txt chat easier? By default it goes to "local". Is that instance based? I had a chat with Cmdr Tucker Dale this morning and every time I went back to controls, to send another msg it was like 2/right/space/select send msg or something like that. Is there a quick way I'm missing?

    Thanks

We will be doing the event at Camp 5 in Mobius. We have been told, that at some point after Camp 5 all players on the roster may get sorted into Kamzel group. If that happens we will of course be doing our meetups in that group. But as long as there is still some pilots not there we will be using Mobius to allow everyone to take part.

We are using the DW teamspeak. There is a group of channels titled "FGE Exploration Wings" - those are the ones

Hmmm... don´t know the answer to that one. Once you are talking in a channel the text chat ought to behave nicely...

I have a minor clarification to the DW newsletter - just to avoid any misunderstandings:

The FGE have allocated several of their pilots to escort these ships, and minor base camp meetups are scheduled along the route.
    1) We have no escort ships! At least not in the sense that they are armed and dangerous... So if you travel with us don´t expect us to be able to protect you from attack.

    2) For the month of february we will be hosting a series of meetups at the DW camps, that will require you to travel at a pace of app. 4000 LY / week. This is somewhat slower than the pace of the primary DW fleet (6500 LY / week). But not half the pace. We will be monitoring the progress tracker and the attendance at the meetups - and in light of this we might adjust the pace of travel accordingly.

    Cheers

DW target was ~10 when you set 4-5 though - clearly the half has just gotten stuck in some heads

Re txt chat. Just to be clear i was talking about in game (in case teamspeak also does txt since I never used it I don't know)

Be nice if there was a hotkey or something to revert to previous conversation. Pressing 2 defaults back to the local. Which might be ok in the end anyway
