This thread is like if, back in the days of Tarren Mill-Southshore world pvp, one faction's players went from role playing in emergent gameplay to truly believing OUTSIDE of WoW that they were part of a real conflict of good vs evil.
The whole "we protect the new players from predators or pirates" thing is great RP, and also probably does help some new players get a better start. It kind of seems like you feel this makes you a morally superior human being in real life, and that the worlds owes you some recognition. Telling everyone how much money you raised for charity over and over also suggests the wrong types of motivation. This is a video game. The amount of actual good or evil anyone can do in it doesn't even come close to mattering morally outside the game world. If you really want to feel like a hero,go volunteer somewhere or something.
