I looked at the Winged Hussars before, as I am 25% Polish, my last name ends in "ski", and my grandpa sang happy birthday in Polish, but alas, I can't speak/read Polish, so...

I see what you're saying though.
Hello! About the link - yes, I know Glad to hear you have the ancient Polish blood in you, Abil. The Winged Hussars all have the glorious Polish nation as their ancestors. I hope this is another reason for you to help The Border Coalition!

    Bezpiecznych lotów, Komandorze

As the pioneer beyond just figuring out the BGS, is there any other choice? The Dukes have been around a long time and put a lot of work into ED and the community. They definitely have my vote.

Thanks! That means a lot coming from someone who has been around a while as well.

Better is debatable and requires a definition of what constitutes good. Different certainly.

    Fleetcomm brought me here

This fragile alliance does sound interesting. I'm coming back from Distant Worlds, looking for places to sell my data to, namely SEPP. Maybe I could swing by Mikun too?

You are welcome . I'm explorer too, also a member of Distant Worlds and Border Coalition got my full support.

Should the Border Coalition arise, there will be a faction-specific thing.

The Alliance don't have a faction-specific thing, and if you read into Mr. Brookes' attitude towards those "traitors to independence," they never will either.

Like the Alliance, after a fashion, but better.

Hello, Sternmann, glad to have you here. I hope you'll look closer at what we have to offer as both minor factions and the potential Power and decide to support us during the Rise To Power event!

Fly safe and sound and if you need an armed escort coming back to the Bubble, give us a holler - I'm sure we'll be able to organise something for you if possible.

Mr. Brookes should get a better recent history lesson of the Alliance then.

When Lugh forced their inclusion to avoid exploitation under Winters, Mahon was fine with it.

When Null asked for protection to avoid exploitation under Winters, Mahon was fine with it and are currently in tatters with the Federation for it. In fact, the respect shown towards Null has got them to actually like it in Mahon instead of considering it the lesser of two evils.

When the Border Coalition asked for their space to remain unexploited and for the Alliance to stay out of their way, Mahon respected it.

The Alliance, through Mahon so far, has protected and respected the interests of the Independents much more than what Mr. Brooks would like to advertise otherwise.

Although to be fair, there's not much that could have been done, realistically, to prevent it. The Alliance's greatest strength is in how measured their response is to less than desirable situations. For that, the Alliance has my respect, if not my unconditional support.

When Null asked for protection, Mahon was fine with it and are currently in tatters with the Federation for it.
Null was an excuse to trigger a conflict, nothing more. Trusting a Fed to keep their word... If you get into bed with a snake, expect to be bitten.

    Thanks.

When there's Feds knocking at your door, who you gonna call?
    Ghostbusters? Communism Interstellar?

Mr. Brookes' attitude towards the Alliance is, fortunately, not my problem.

Then there's the whole 'just how rubbish is the retributor?' issue. Again, that is fortunately not my problem.

I'm not dissing the Alliance, by the way - we've worked with, and maintain good relations with, several Alliance groups from January/February 2015 right up until the present day. That was a direct quote from Mike Brookes in the last livestream. The difference between the Border Coalition and the Alliance really comes down to the fact that should we win the Dangerous Games, we will get direct input into a faction-specific perk, which is more than the Alliance has right now.

    I know.

But people need to know that Mr. Brookes' attitude is completely unfunded and unprecedented.

To be honest, I'd prefer a communist power to round out the playing field a bit more so than an alliance that's not the alliance. In coming together as one unit for the sake of...this event, perhaps?...they've lost their individuality if they do get in. I mean, simply looking at the three factions on paper is enough to make me scratch my head in ways I haven't since reading into WW2 alternate histories for the lulz. I can't imagine any solid foundation for the faction coming around beyond "help the underdog!", and to be honest, we Archon supporters rarely get help as it is...

I find this whole "race to power" has become something of a travesty, and I can't work out the best way to describe it. I don't even fully understand why half of the people involved are actually involved. I'd be happy having my BGS cake in one hand and my PP in the other to eat in pieces like I currently do w/ Black Omega and the Kumo Crew, but it seems some people want to get into a system everyone was whinging about three months ago when those of us still working at it were getting into BGS work....swings and roundabouts, perhaps, or maybe I'm missing something big here...

I had a point in there, honest....anyone know what it was?
