Welcome to the second incarnation of the now World Famous Frontier Forums Official Drabble competition for you Drabble enthusiasts!!!

This thread has been created in part to help protect the greater populous of the forum from Psykokow and was created after the advice we received from his Headshr...Doctor..

The last three years have been amazing and the creativity, fun and madness that resulted in one little thread on a forum is totally down to m.... All of you.

You Guys and Girls really are a fantastic bunch.

Here we run a weekly competition for the best drabble from the community that meets the following rules.

1. Drabbles are stories of exactly 100 words (Excluding the title)
2. Drabbles need to be set in the Elite universe (loosely).
3. Drabbles must meet the theme set by the previous weeks winner.
4. The Drabble Topic will be set on a Monday by the previous weeks winner, should no topic be set by Monday, then Tuesday the topic will be declared OPEN and anything goes (See rule 2)
5. Only the first 20 entries per week can be put into the draw.
6. You may write more than one drabble, but must specify which one is your entry. If you don't then the most recent Drabble will be put forward.
7. Anyone submitting drabbles after the 20 slots are filled will not be part of the vote, but will be able to share their amazing skills (and may get them read out).
8. Vote closes Sunday and the winner is declared. In the event of a tie, all winners can set a theme for the following week, entrants may choose to use one or all of the themes in their drabbles.
9. This is for fun - please be respectful and try to keep it clean.
10. Thou shalt not submit someone else's as your own

You can not vote for yourself.

So submit your drabbles in reply to this thread, and the first 20 will be guaranteed entry into this weeks poll, and read out on our live Show Friday night.

Entries close at Random O'clock on Thursday evening (or sometimes earlier if we have 20 entries already). Late drabbles submitted up to Friday Afternoon will likely have a good chance of being read out on the live drabble readiing show for fun.

It was a long time coming, It had been fun but it had become fat and bloated.

There had been fun times and a few sad times, but as with everything it was a finite entity.

Insanity had ruled with aplomb and the world would never be quite the same again.

Characters had formed, a certain lunatic Scotsman in a very strange hat sprang to mind.
A radio called Frank seemed to win with suspicious regularity

But above all it had been so much fun.

Goodbye old friend he said softly as he pressed the thread closed button.

Captain Winnard finally arrived at Lave Station in his pink asp.
He was smuggling narcotics from Vesuvit.
He saw his friend simoof for advice.
Simoof said 'Didn't you read the last post about Narcotics in Vesuvit'.
Winnard said 'No why what's wrong'.
Simoof replied 'They have been infected with a disease'.
'Orders are to return them immediately.
Winnard launched his pink asp and set course to Vesuvit.
He pressed his big red auto pilot button.
After a few seconds it was...
Waypoint, waypoint scoop,
Waypoint, waypoint scoop.
On arrival at Vesuvit he was arrested for smuggling.
Simoof had tricked him.

Title:- Wacky Race Final

Its the final of the Wacky Races.
Winnard takes the lead in this prestigious buggeh! race.
Comes to the first jump and all make it over the first hurdle.
Hold on Alien thinks he still in his ship and zooms off into space.
Psykokow drinking what looks like thick kitten blood,
Looses control and takes Rascon out with him.
Hankey next one gone, as his engine packs in.
Winnard has only got to make the final jump.
He makes it, but fails at the last post as Alien lands on him.
Simoof crosses the line and is declared the winner.

The long haul is almost over. I've dodged Imperial ships, customs officials, Federation police, bounty hunters and pirates, hiding behind asteroids or in deep craters on barren planet surfaces.

My mission? To deliver a unique alien artefact to a remote outpost whose name and location I'm not allowed to disclose.

I've spent hair raising weeks avoiding every pip that appeared on my scanner, but now the outpost is just minutes away. It's my last mission; with the proceeds, I'm retiring.

"Permission to land?"

What's this? Five pips on scanner, climbing fast from the post, weapons readied. Damn! They mean business!

Oh dear! I pop over to the new (and wonderful) thread and copy my drabble into it, only to discover my post is number 13! I hope everybody is superstitious enough to know that number 13 is LUCKY!

What happens to the old thread? Is it still available for browsing? And if so, for how long?

And, just curiousity you understand, why does the old thread have to be closed? Is this a physical / electronic limitation of the forum?

Ensign Bastion’s military career had always been a little bit accident prone.
In his very last posting aboard the flagship, he had been assigned the task of cat minder for the admiral.
This should have been an easy task; unfortunately, he used hair removal cream instead of cat shampoo one day and the poor animal caught a chill and died. The admiral was very upset and insisted on a proper military funeral for his beloved cat.
The admiral was also very angry and while the Last Post was playing, he raised his pistol and took careful aim at Ensign Bastion.
