Are you going to move to a self contained solution? Really don't like tools wanting files outside of their own folder. EG. These files should be in the same folder as the tool.
Almost certainly not. I did it like that so people could find and edit their own profiles manually if necessary, and also have access to the GUI profiles. It could be a potential thing to think about down the line tho. Sorry man
This is really great work! Hopefully some guys will upload their preferred configuration here in the thread, so that many could use this as a baseline. Big thanks for all you've done so far!!

That's a great idea mate
Ok LIVE version is up, it will now only check for updates once a week. It can be gotten from my brand spanking new website: http://www.drkaii.com/tools/edprofiler/
NOTE TO BETA TESTERS: You need to delete your entire ..My Documents\EDProfiler folder to run the program after updating to the live build.
I am having an issue with the 6 Graphics Settings buttons. Every time I click one I get the dialogue "Please locate one of the game folders where the Elite .exe is found"...
I then point it to the correct location, but when I click the button again I get the same dialogue box. I tried manually entering the correct path (see below) in the Paths.xml but it made no difference.
<EDInstallPath>C:\Program Files (x86)\Frontier\EDLaunch\Products\elite-dangerous-64\OptionDefaults</EDInstallPath>
Couple of other funnies I've found:
- the Texture Quality drop-down has an Ultra setting but the game only goes up to High (when it's set to Ultra the in-game option shows Low)
- controls binding does not work - let's say my controls binding is called Custom.binds, the tool will write "Custom - Custom.binds" into the StartPreset.start file but the game is expecting simply "Custom". It doesn't find it so it reverts to the default.

I get this error when trying to run: "Sequence contains no elements"
(German, sorry, I hope there's sth useful in it anyway)
EDIT: But when I continue anyway, it seems to run ok.

1. Try deleting your EDProfiler folder (in My documents) and then running it again
2. Try deleting everything in %localappdata%\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Graphics (TAKE A BACKUP), then running the game, and hitting "Apply" in the graphics menu. It should recreate them to something that works.
Wow, thanks for that very quick reply. Step one made no difference. Yes, the error appears every time I start EDProfiler, and every time I try to save a profile. The profile files are saved, but empty.
I'm not sure about step 2. You mean the graphics menu in the game? That creates new default files, that are useless, all my settings gone (of course). And I still get the same error.
I'd like to try and run the app as admin. Maybe it's access rights. But I have difficulties finding the actual exe. I only find this: EDProfiler.appref-ms
