We’re continually impressed by the screenshots and videos our community post on social media and our forums, here are this week's highlights:

The Colonia Citizens Network have been hard at work working to co-ordinate to unite all colonists living out at Jacques Station in the Colonia Nebula. Turns out they play hard too, with an epic canon race between colonists ensuing this week.

Our racers begin their approach to the canyon under the starry sky.

Our racers enter the canon, from here, you can see the treacherous bends and slaloms that await them

Tension begins to build as they pilots find their marks.

The racers take their marks. The Viper MK III is today's most common ship of choice, perfect for maneuvering through those sharp corners.

    "Get Set"

The starting line bursts into life as the pilots make any last minute adjustments needed.

One last look at the competition, pulses race with just seconds away from start.

    "GO!"

And we're off, as our pilot's ships burst into life, erupting through the canyon.

Close calls for many Pilots as they bank hard to avoid the cliff face.

Do you want to see the results of this epic race? You can see a full recap of the race with all the highlights in this thrilling coverage.

Great work by the CCN here, we can't wait for your next event.

Having dominated in the Dangerous Games, the formidable EG Pilots are now rising to power. Leading their Faction to glory is their fearless leader, Yuri Grom. A strong strategist and tactician, Grom has established himself as a both a dominate military commander and an excellent diplomat.

Dedicated to bringing "Freedom among the stars" and intent on uniting independent parties against Imperials and the Federation alike, EG Pilots welcome all who would help them with their cause.

Welcome to our weekly roundup of news stories and events in the Elite: Dangerous galaxy.

Latugara PLC has announced plans to construct a series of outposts that will “bridge the gap between the burgeoning Colonia community and the core systems”. The organisation has placed an open order for titanium, computer components and power generators for the new outposts, and has promised to reward pilots who deliver these commodities to its base of operations at Love Orbital in the Latugara system.

The Xuangu Crimson Major Network has announced that the Imperial operation to recover valuable intelligence from Federal convoys in the Mu Koji system has been a success. But although the Empire achieved its primary goal, victory came at a cost. Independent correspondents, reporting from Mu Koji, have confirmed that the Empire lost considerably more ships than the Federation.

Federal intelligence operatives have uncovered an Imperial plot to destabilise the Thoreau Orbital outpost in Obotrima. The starport is a major manufacturing centre for autonomous defence drones, more commonly known as skimmers. The Imperial organisation Chimechilo Empire League plans to disrupt skimmer production at Thoreau Orbital by flooding it with explosives. To counter this threat, the Obotrima Organisation has asked Federation-aligned pilots to deliver skimmer components and robotics to the outpost.

Sources close to the Imperial Senate have released a statement indicating that Lady Kahina Tijani Loren, erstwhile senator of the Prism system, has been charged in connection with the attempted assassination of Admiral Denton Patreus. Lady Kahina Loren’s trial is expected to take place next month.

Greetings, Commanders, and welcome to this week’s community goals blog. If you’re looking for a goal, the breakdown below should help:

    The Colonia Connection

Love Orbital, Latugara – Deliver Titanium, Computer Components and Power Generators to Love Orbital in the Latugara system for resupply outposts between the core systems and the Colonia Nebula.

The Fight for Thoreau Orbital - Empire

Thoreau Orbital, Obotrima – Disrupt Federal skimmer production by delivering Explosives to the Thoreau Orbital black market in the Obotrima system.

The Fight for Thoreau Orbital - Federation

Thoreau Orbital, Obotrima – Support the Federation by delivering Skimmer Components or Robotics to Thoreau Orbital in the Obotrima system.

    The Colonia Connection

Latugara PLC, an independent organisation based in the Latugara system, has announced plans to construct a series of outposts between the core of human-inhabited space and the rapidly expanding Colonia Nebula community.

In a statement, the organisation’s spokesperson said:

“Given the relatively remote nature of the Colonia community, there’s a clear need for a series of resupply outposts to support ships travelling to and from the colony. These new bases will bridge the gap between the burgeoning Colonia community and the core systems.”

In support of this ambitious initiative, the Latugara PLC has placed an open order for Titanium, Computer Components and Power Generators, and has promised to reward pilots who deliver these commodities to its base of operations at Love Orbital in the Latugara system.

The campaign has been provisionally scheduled to run for four weeks from the 15th of September 3302, but the Latugara PLC has said it will run the campaign until its targets are met.

    The Fight for Thoreau Orbital

Federal intelligence operatives have uncovered an Imperial plot to destabilise the Thoreau Orbital outpost in Obotrima. The starport is a major manufacturing centre for autonomous defence drones, more commonly known as skimmers.

According to a leaked report, the Imperial organisation Chimechilo Empire League plans to disrupt skimmer production at Thoreau Orbital by flooding it with explosives. The Chimechilo Empire League has asked Imperial pilots to support the operation by delivering explosives to Thoreau Orbital.

To counter this threat, the Obotrima Organisation has asked Federation-aligned pilots to deliver skimmer components and robotics to the outpost in order to manufacture new skimmers.

And to round off this week, here's the chatter from the community this week.

CMDR Bweir learned recently that satellites spawn near and around earth-likes!

CMDR Setesh Chaos also learned why there’s such things as a speed limit near stations. Only you, can prevent accidents!

Matt-2596 on reddit made some bookmarks with Federal and Imperial logos on them.

    Fly Safe, Commanders.

Great news! Looking forward to the beta!

Becoming available so soon after the big "ship transfer" poll tells me FD thankfully decided to takes its time and won't rush the implementation of ship transfers! Very happy about this decision!

It's artwork. We don't have that kind of voluminous smoke effects in game, yet.

Well there's a month from beta launch to 2.2 launch so plenty of time. As usual the first few days will probably be a bit messy anyway.
