We’re continually impressed by the screenshots and videos our community post on social media and our forums, here's this week's highlights:

CMDR Skolios is back this week, bringing us news from the front lines of a combat operation taken out by the Militia for Independent Research (MIR). Here is his report:

    Approaching the Rally Point

Approaching the rally point I was greeted by a formation that certainly resembled a militia. A rag-tag group of various ship manufacturers all clearly customised by independent pilots.

The main fleet was to take on the INV Dreadnought directly and pull battery fire away from the other groups. The Regulator Destroyers were to focus solely on taking out the Dreadnought's weapons and then move onto its heat relays. Finally the Fighter Hunters were to do just that, pick off the capital ship's escorts and aid the other teams if they were engaged by smaller, more agile craft.

    Power to Engines

The Commanders take off from the rally point and the main fleet leads the way towards the INV Dreadnought close overhead.

    Anacondas Take Fire

CMDR Awesomesauce935 and CMDR TheDegree0 take the brunt of the force from the INV Dreadnought's initial salvos.

    CMDR Awesomesauce935

In his white Anaconda, CMDR Awesomesauce935 is responsible for dealing massive damage to the capital ship and taking the heat off comrades in smaller craft.

    CMDR Awesomesauce935 and CMDR TheDegree0

CMDR TheDegree0 (front) and CMDR Awesomesauce935 (back) swing underneath the Dreadnought to avoid weapons fire and deploy heat sinks.

    Attacking Systems

CMDR DrakonStrike (front Python) and CMDR Chang Kai Shek (back Python) allow their weapons to cool while other commanders continue to fire, while CMDR Awesomesauce935 (right) is having trouble pointing in the right direction. The Dreadnought's weapons come back online but there are too many targets at this point.

    Killing Blow

The last heat relay goes down and the INV Dreadnought audibly begins to charge its Frame Shift Drive. It escapes the battlefield, leaving it eerily quiet.

Welcome to our weekly roundup of news stories and events in the Elite: Dangerous galaxy.

The discovery of mysterious wreckage in the Pleiades Nebula has rekindled interest in the so-called Martian Relic, an object discovered beneath the surface of Mars over one thousand years ago. Very little is known about the Relic except that it was discovered in 2280 and is relatively small, measuring no more than a few centimetres square. Naturally, some have speculated that it could be a Thargoid artefact, but with access to the Relic restricted, this theory can be neither proved nor disproved.

A spokesperson for the Merope Expeditionary Fleet has announced that its appeal for construction materials was enthusiastically received by the galactic community. Scores of independent pilots responded to the organisation’s request, resulting in a massive influx of deliveries to Obsidian Orbital, the organisation’s base of operations. The materials will be used to construct a new Imperial operating base in the Pleiades Sector AB-W B2-4 system.

Earlier this month, the Mu Koji system was engulfed in the ongoing conflict between the Empire and the Federation, resulting in the displacement of thousands of civilians. In the wake of this calamity, the Kalana Independents have offered to fund a coordinated relief effort. The organisation has promised to reward pilots who deliver basic medicines and evacuation shelters to Bujold Enterprise, where the refugees are currently based.

The Federation has announced plans to construct a new outpost to support naval operations in Maia and the surrounding systems. The request mirrors one issued by the Empire last week, which centred on the construction of a new forward operating base in the Maia system. The Federation has promised to reward pilots who deliver construction materials for use in the construction.

The appeal from Latugara PLC for construction materials has entered its third week. The organisation plans to use the materials to build a series of outposts between the core of human-inhabited space and the rapidly expanding Colonia Nebula community. A spokesperson for the organisation said it was on track to meet its targets.

A spokesperson for the Pleiades Resource Enterprise has announced that its appeal for exploration data was enthusiastically received by the galactic community. Hundreds of pilots contributed to the campaign by sweeping the Pleiades Nebula and delivering the resultant astronomical data to Pre Logistics Support Gamma in the Pleiades Sector IH-V C2-5 system.

Greetings, Commanders, and welcome to this week’s community goals blog. If you’re looking for a goal, the breakdown below should help:

    The Colonia Connection

Love Orbital, Latugara – Deliver Titanium, Computer Components and Power Generators to Love Orbital in the Latugara system for resupply outposts between the core systems and the Colonia Nebula.

    New Federal Base in Maia

Obsidian Orbital, Maia - Support the Federation’s ongoing operation in the Pleiades Nebula by delivering Auto Fabricators, Titanium, and Power Generators to Obsidian Orbital in the Maia system.

Aid for the Mu Koji Refugees

Bujold Enterprise, Kalana – Help the displaced citizens of the Mu Koji system by delivering Basic Medicines and Evacuation Shelters to Bujold Enterprise in the Kalana system.

    The Colonia Connection

Latugara PLC, an independent organisation based in the Latugara system, has announced plans to construct a series of outposts between the core of human-inhabited space and the rapidly expanding Colonia Nebula community.

In a statement, the organisation’s spokesperson said:

“Given the relatively remote nature of the Colonia community, there’s a clear need for a series of resupply outposts to support ships travelling to and from the colony. These new bases will bridge the gap between the burgeoning Colonia community and the core systems.”

In support of this ambitious initiative, the Latugara PLC has placed an open order for Titanium, Computer Components and Power Generators, and has promised to reward pilots who deliver these commodities to its base of operations at Love Orbital in the Latugara system.

The campaign has been scheduled to run for one more week, but Latugara PLC has said it will run the campaign until its targets are met.

    New Federal Base in Maia

The Federation has announced plans to construct a new outpost in the Maia system, following last week’s successful campaign to amass data on the Pleiades Nebula.

According to a Federal spokesperson, the new base will support naval operations in Maia and the surrounding systems. The request mirrors one issued by the Empire last week, which centred on the construction of a new forward operating base in the Maia system.

The Pleiades Resource Enterprise, on behalf of the Federation, has placed an open order for Auto Fabricators, Titanium, and Power Generators for use in the construction. Pilots who deliver these commodities to Obsidian Orbital in the Maia system will be generously rewarded.

The campaign begins on the 29th of September 3302 and will run for one week. If final targets are met earlier than planned, the campaign will end immediately.

Aid for the Mu Koji Refugees

Earlier this month, the Mu Koji system was engulfed in the ongoing conflict between the Empire and the Federation, as the superpowers staged rival operations to secure enemy intelligence.

Although the battle only lasted a few days, the collateral damage was severe, resulting in the displacement of thousands of civilians. System authorities have responded by establishing a refugee centre at the Bujold Enterprise starport, but have found themselves unable to provide the many refugees with medicine and shelter.

The Kalana Independents have therefore offered to fund a coordinated relief effort. The organisation has placed an open order for basic medicines and evacuation shelters, and has promised to reward pilots who deliver these commodities to Bujold Enterprise in the Kalana system.

The campaign begins on the 29th of September 3302 and will run for one week. If final targets are met earlier than planned, the campaign will end immediately.

And to round off this week, here's the chatter from the community this week.

Greetings Commander, said by the nearby star. Picture from CMDR Hepburn3d

CMDR Muricaball recently found out like many other Commanders that the advertisement holograms near and on stations are quite detailed. (Dotmatrix is quite popular, even in the 3300s!)

From CMDR X-77B, CMDR Doggo is in the house, ready for action!

CMDSR Joan Shepard had quite the… mission in the name of democracy to perform! He wrote “Every single time” as the heading to this mission he created on Photoshop...

See you in the black, Commanders.

    The Frontier Developments Team.

Cheers for pointing that out! I'm not receiving any so didn't realise this is last week's news.

So it took a full week for last week's newsletter to go up does that mean I have to wait a week for today's newsletter?
I know the moderates post them in their own time but seen as I don't receive them by email this is the only way I can see them and I know they don't like it when cmdrs post the newsletter.
I for one would be very grateful if we could get back to a regular newsletter thread.

You should get it via email. Eventually. That's if you have signed up for it through your FD store account. As for it appearing here, well you never know when, perhaps up to a week later. Fly safe!

I've noticed often times, I don't receive the newsletter until late Saturday. Could it be because I am in the US?
Sounds weird, but I can't think of any other reason.
    Thanks again.
