    Elite Dangerous: Horizons

Welcome to the Elite Dangerous Newsletter #145,

e in the newsletter every week, and we're always eager to hear your feedback.

We’re continually impressed by the screenshots and videos our community post on social media and our forums, here's this week's highlights:

The Galaxy is a beautiful place, full of wonder, intrigue and breathtaking sights.

CMDR Namsel has captured this perfectly in a series of galactic landscapes. We've picked a few of our favorites to share with you below.

Truly breathtaking scenes we're sure you'll agree. Be sure to check out CMDR Namsel7's full gallery. We can't wait to see what they create next.

Cobra's have never looked more deadly than with the new Hunter and Predator PaintJobs.

Available for both the MKIII and MKIV, these savage styles mark you as a fearsome foe not to be trifled with. They're great value too, at only £5 / $7 / 375,00 py6. for the set of 6.

We're excited to see you take on your prey in these new colors, so be sure to share your ships with us.

The Paladin Consortium is turning one this year, and are holding a SRV Grand Prix to celebrate!

The race is scheduled for October 14th at 20:00 GMT/UTC and is open to everyone, so come show what you've got! There will be prizes for the top three finishers, in the form of the Assassin Paint Jobs!

Don't want to race but still be part of the festivities? No problem, just show up to the track at the time and date listed above and spectate the race, have a chat with other CMDRs, and get involved in some good humored shenanigans!

Discord is being to organize the race
and disseminate information to everyone involved, and likely for voice chat as well, so be sure to get involved. You can find the full breakdown of this exciting event on the forum post.

Have you ever wanted to see how your Cobra stacks up against a banana? Who hasn't?

The talented Mat Recardo has but together an excellent video that scales from a Banana right up to an Orbis Station. It really puts things into perspective and is well worth a watch.

18 Months ago, an intrepid explorer by the name of CMDR Erimus set out to chart the Galaxy.
Now, with the support of you wonderful folk in the community, an interactive galactic map has successful been created.

Containing community submitted names for 55 regions, 9 spiral arms and approaching 1,000 player submitted points of interest, this truly is an incredible achievement. A massive congratulations to all those involved in the project.

Welcome to our weekly roundup of news stories and events in the Elite: Dangerous galaxy.

The appeal from Latugara PLC for construction materials has entered its fourth and final week. The organisation plans to use the materials to build a series of outposts between the core of human-inhabited space and the rapidly expanding Colonia Nebula community. A spokesperson for the organisation said it was still on track to meet its targets.

Security forces in the Slink's Eye system have reported a dramatic upswing in pirate activity. In response to this development, the Revolutionary Slink's Eye Liberals have placed a kill order on all wanted ships operating in the Slink's Eye system, and have promised to reward pilots who deliver bounty vouchers to Kelleam Ring. The organisation has also vowed to reimburse those who deliver reactive armour to Kelleam Ring to bolster local security forces.

Last week, the Kalana Independents launched a relief campaign for the people of Mu Koji, many of whom had been displaced by the Federal-Imperial conflict that swept through the system in early September. The response to the appeal was extremely enthusiastic, allowing the Kalana Independents to meet their targets in just four days. Authorities in Mu Koji will now be able to keep the system’s refugees comfortable until they are returned to their homes.

The Federation has announced that its campaign to construct a new outpost in the Maia system has received the enthusiastic support of the galactic community. Hundreds of pilots responded to the appeal by delivering construction materials to Obsidian Orbital in the Maia system. A Federal spokesperson said: “The potential value of the meta-alloys is enormous, and it is essential that Imperial efforts to control them be opposed. This new outpost will help us achieve that aim.”

Greetings, Commanders, and welcome to this week’s community goals blog. If you’re looking for a goal, the breakdown below should help:

Final Stage of the Colonia Connection

Love Orbital, Latugara – Deliver Titanium, Computer Components and Power Generators to Love Orbital in the Latugara system for resupply outposts between the core systems and the Colonia Nebula.

    Fortifying Defences in Slink's Eye

Kelleam Ring, Slink’s Eye – Help security forces in Slink’s Eye deal with pirate activity by delivering Reactive Armour to Kelleam Ring in the Slink's Eye system.

    Restoring Order in Slink's Eye

Kelleam Ring, Slink’s Eye – Destroy wanted pilots in Slink's Eye and the surrounding systems, and hand in Bounty Vouchers at Kelleam Ring in the Slink's Eye system.

    The Colonia Connection

Latugara PLC, an independent organisation based in the Latugara system, has announced plans to construct a series of outposts between the core of human-inhabited space and the rapidly expanding Colonia Nebula community.

In a statement, the organisation’s spokesperson said:

“Given the relatively remote nature of the Colonia community, there’s a clear need for a series of resupply outposts to support ships travelling to and from the colony. These new bases will bridge the gap between the burgeoning Colonia community and the core systems.”

In support of this ambitious initiative, the Latugara PLC has placed an open order for Titanium, Computer Components and Power Generators, and has promised to reward pilots who deliver these commodities to its base of operations at Love Orbital in the Latugara system.

The campaign has been scheduled to run for one more week, but Latugara PLC has said it will run the campaign until its targets are met.

    Slink's Eye Piracy Epidemic

Security forces in the Slink's Eye system have reported a dramatic upswing in pirate activity. Reports indicate that the agitators are attacking civilians, disrupting trade and generally causing discord.

The campaign begins on the 6th of October and will run for one week. If the final target is met earlier than planned, the campaign will end immediately.

And to round off this week, here's the chatter from the community this week.

CMDR X-Layer2 learns that gravity is a cruel mistress indeed.

The Xbox section of the Elite Dangerous Forums are currently debating the best looking ship in the game. CMDR Ozram ups the stakes with this phenomenal Anaconda shot.

We know as a Commander, there isn't much you haven't seen. But have you ever seen a python flying a Python? Thanks to CMDR Seclipse, now you have!

See you in the black, Commanders.

    The Frontier Developments Team.

    Hey there Frontier,

Any issues with your mail servers this week?

Seems to be the first issue that hasn't arrived in my inbox. Not in spam btw.

Happy it is here to read, but just wanted to mention.

    Cheers.

Sadly the newsletter service is getting worse. New record for later delivery: Saturday 10:10am.
'Once OS X has been updated to support OpenGL compute shaders, or other technical options are available to us, we will certainly be very keen on supporting that platform.'
