Have you tried rebooting your computer, then running ED again?

You need to contact support bud, not put this on the general discussion forums. https://support.frontier.co.uk/kb/ Go here and submit a ticket.

There is also a bug report forum section that you will likely get support on. https://forums.frontier.co.uk/forumd...ac-Bug-Reports

Do you have the 2010 Direct X packages installed on your computer?

  6. #6
I wouldnt know. I have no knowledge of installing anything like that, so probably no. Do i need it?

  7. #7
yes you need it... https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down...s.aspx?id=8109 download this and unpack it, then when its unpacked go to the folder it unpacked to and run the installer.

Would not having that make my pc shut down? Seems extreme

Direct X controls alot of resource managment when it comes to programs that heavily use resources. It may not be what's causing your computer to shut off, but its a good place to start.

Ok then. I shal get that taken care of when i get the chance. Thank you

Something else that may be causing your computer to shut down is if the power outlet you have it plugged into does not have a consitent flow of power, usualy a back up battery will help regulate the flow of power from the outlet to your computer. If you have a "white" rated PSU you might want to consider upgrading to atleast a bronze rated

The psu should be fine, since im able to instantly repower it the moment after it shuts down. I know for a fact that the 9 hour download of elite (ive got a download speed of 2mbps and upload of 600kbps) i didnt have a single shut down, so im quite confident in saying this problem is caused by the game running

Just guessing this is a hardware issue.... Heat?

    Have you tried other games?

That's just a download though, your computer uses more power to actually run the game. have you used the computer with any other games that are similarly demanding? Newer PSU's have safety features that shut off the computer if they think the power is about too become to unstable for the computer to handle, usually white grade PSU's have a lower power variable tolerance than bronze grade or higher.

When does it shut down? As you have upgraded you cpu are you sure its been installed correctly? Do other games run that stress your pc work? Is your psu powerful enough to power your new cpu and gpu under stress?

You've not really given us much to go on. As it seems to be running fine for most people its probably safe to say its a problem with your pc.
