Does Frontier add new systems to the game based on news?

    Heard about this today!

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/...ife/100614094/

But I can't find it on the map, closest system to Sol seems to be Sirius?
This star is closer to earth though, by almost 10 Ly!

Any chance Frontier will add this to the game? ^^

You may need to play with your filters to show uninhabited systems. Also there are different catalogue (e.g. HIP, HR, LHS, LTT) IDs for the same system in many cases.

Sirius is only 8 ly from Sol in real life. They do update the game with new discoveris for sure though, so I imagine they will add this.

They tweaked a system that was in the right kinda place for Trappist to mimic the discoveries, added geysers to Sol locations when they were found in real life, stuff like that. For major stuff yep they will inject stuff, normally in the next big patch.

Omg I'm an idiot, I forgot that the distance it shows is how far I am from the target I viewed, I didn't have Sol selected ... you're right, it's only about 6 Ly

    Pretty cool news nonetheless!

Actually, maybe the other way around. Elite has predicted enough for astronomers to start using the game's galaxy map to look for nearby earth-like candidates?

(This is intended as humour, apologies if it has failed.)
