    Description
This is an issue that has been occurring since the 2.3 update. I suspect it has something to do with the attempt to reduce time in hyperspace between systems. I believe that there is not enough time for the engine to load all the stars in the skybox.

Whenever I log in, I have a normal amount of stars in whatever system I am in. (currently about halfway between Colonia and Sag A). After a jump or two, the stars begin to disappear in some areas and also condense into boxes in sections in other parts of the sky with strange gaps between them. If I jump enough times there will eventually be NO stars in the sky.

If I log out, then go to my xbox dashboard and quit the ED app, then relaunch and login, the stars will return as normal. I believe this is because loading the game takes whatever time is required, as opposed to a hyperspace jump which is completing before all stars load. I have the same result from a cache reset. It works for one or two systems, then the skybox begins to degrade.

    Here are some screenshots:

This can be reproduced with extreme reliability.

I am aware of the known issue where some regions of space have hard borders from when the galaxy was generated. THIS IS NOT THAT ISSUE. If that were the case, simply restarting the game would not correct the issue. What we are seeing here is that the stars in the skybox are not displaying or loading correctly.

I took some off-screen footage to show a typical result from a log out/quit/relaunch sequence. I tried to use the xbox dvr but it doesn't continue to record after I leave the game. So I apologize for the bad quality, but it is good enough to see what I'm talking about. I replaced the audio because it was worse than the video, but it isn't relevant to this bug anyway.

This is only after a few jumps so the stars aren't gone, but they are weirdly clustered with gaps. I leave the game, quit the app, relaunch, login, and the stars have returned.

I have a wired cable internet connection. open nat, plenty of bandwidth.

    Steps to Reproduce
    1. Load into a system with dense stars.

    2. Jump a few times. Notice degradation of skybox.

    3. save and quit.

    4. highlight the app. press the options button (the three lines) and choose "quit"

    5. Relaunch the game and notice all stars are loading properly.

the three lines is the menu button for those who where wondering :P

Yeah, I still call it the "start" button but I know that isn't right. :)

Posted the same thing here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showth...ading-properly

But you've worded it better and provided screenshots.

I also started having the issue from Colonia to Sag A. The closer you get the worse it becomes. I've already had multiple times where the Sky box would be entirely empty.

I can confirm I'm having this exact issue in the Gria Drye Sector right now. Almost an entirely blank skybox in the middle of a spiral arm, with a small box of stars off to one side.

    Fixed by reloading the game.

Immediately before quitting from the game to the Xbox dashboard:

Immediately after starting the game back up again:

My ship hasn't moved between these screenshots. And with each successive jump afterwards, I'm again gradually losing stars - more prominent when looking towards the core.
