i own and engineered 3 pythons. my good old multirole/mission running python - which can run a passenger mission, has cargo, and still do a massacre mission in a CZ at the same time. a trade python - see above. and a heavy frag combat python, which performs as good as my FDL.

as for the hipster-thingy - i actually like the pythons cockpit a lot, as it feels very cosy somehow. a mobile living room. even if i mostly fly DBE, and currently a FDL often (yes, i have a travelling multipurpose FDL with 25 ly jumprange now!)... that luxury cockpit with the muffled sound is just so great.
Yeah, OP, goemon hit it on the head. From the all-round utility of it, to the cozy cockpit. The thing about the Python is that it not only does so many things, but that it does them so well. I have two myself, fully engineered.

Although everyone has their favorites, I really suggest you check it out.

Oooh... that's right. Shouldn't the religious factions around the bubble be on an absolute tear right now?

The whole point of this thread is to discuss opinions. It's fascinating to see how different people play the game. Oh, and knowing I'm not crazy for liking the type 9s utilitarianism and size is nice too.
Indeed. I'm just stating that I won't be the one to say "lol n00bz cutter iz bezt" because even I support opinions. I wish people valued them more. Doesn't matter if we all have them. :3

"run" and t9, or "run" and conda are not going well in one sentence...

Sounds like your talking about more than just this game. You realize I play games to get away from life lol.

On a serious not, I don't mind people who think one ship is best, as long as they explain why. I like seeing people's thought processes.

You mean cos both are slow ships, or that the conda can fight back cos it has teeth? I think for a slow ship like the type 9 though, it should just fart mines, then you can run while laughing about it.

There's been so many posts I forgot about that post till you quoted it. See, what if the sidewinder had twin rails, that'd be a threat.

While I don't love or hate my Python, I've embraced the fact you need to have one. Sooner or late you'll need to do actual work and still be able to hit outposts.
As for the jump range..... I've never gotten mine past 36 with level 5 mods.
But then I won't do smaller and/or D's on thrusters or power distribution. But when looked at it still want impressed.

Right now I use a cutter. When I want to do larger trading I swap my shield generator from 8 bi-weave to 6 bi-weave and stick to the second 256 cargo rack to bring it to 512 t.
That's more than enough for anything I need,
I keep an extra load out at Maia Point so I can swap out if I chose when in the area since the just no good outfitting in the area. Barely even any bad outfitting

Random thought but I'd say the most fun I've had in trading was rare trading in my asp explorer a looooongggg time ago. Other than that trading just makes me sleepy.

I'm not a fan of flying the type 9 though I do love the cockpit view. I haven't owned anything bigger than an anaconda but I will say that the cutter is my mental image of my end game trader. My python always ends up in a multi role configuration. I should just buy a couple more.
