    NEWSLETTER #182

Welcome to the Elite Dangerous Newsletter, the place to find all the latest from the Elite Dangerous galaxy.

As the Thargoid revelation continues to shake the Galaxy to it's core, another conspiracy has the potential to shake the status quo even further. The much anticipated Elite Dangerous: Premonition by Drew Wagar details the story of Salomé and how you effected her fate.

As always, you can hear the latest news and updates directly from the development team on our Forums, Twitter, Facebook, Community Homepage, and right here in the newsletter every week, and we're always eager to hear your feedback.

    UNCOVER THE TRUTH

Elite Dangerous: Premonition is here. The story crafted by you and thousands of other Elite Dangerous Commanders. See how your actions in-game affected Salomé and her story.

Three great superpowers manoeuvre against each other. But are their destinies their own, or are they merely the puppets of some greater power?

Since the loss of the Prism system in 3300, Lady Kahina Tijani Loren has operated on the fringes of Imperial society. Led by clues from a woman once thought dead, she is drawn into a conspiracy at the heart of humanity. To uncover the truth she must contend with dangerous enemies, navigate murky political waters, and – with the help of her friends – uncover the secret of the Formidine Rift.

    SPECIALISTS RESPOND TO LATEST FINDINGS

Professor Ishmael Palin has commented on the discovery of functional Thargoid technology, saying that the revelation “confirms the long-posited connection between the Thargoids and the Unknown Artefacts and Probes”. Meanwhile, engineer Ram Tah said that reports of interaction between Guardian and Thargoid technology suggested prior contact between the two races.

    NEW FEDERAL OUTPOST

The Federation has announced plans to construct a new survey outpost in the HIP 17692 system. Federal sources have confirmed that the outpost is designed to give the Federation a vantage point, close to the Pleiades, from which to monitor Thargoid activity. The Pleiades Resource Enterprise has placed an open order for construction materials.

    PILOTS FEDERATION INITIATIVE CONCLUDES

The Pilots Federation has announced that its campaign to clear the LHS 3447, Eravate and Asellus Primus systems of agitators has been a success. As the campaign drew to a close, authorities in the systems reiterated their hope that the success of the initiative would allow peacekeeping forces to maintain lasting peace.

NEW SUPERPOWER BASES IN THE PLEIADES

The Empire has launched a new Wells-class Carrier in the HR 1185 system, while the Federation has announced the completion of Blackmount Orbital, an asteroid base sited among the rings of HIP 17692 A4 in the HIP 17692 system. Both projects were the result of initiatives supported by the galactic community.

PEOPLE'S RAKAPILA PROGRESSIVE PARTY CAMPAIGN CONCLUDES

A spokesperson for the People’s Rakapila Progressive Party has announced that its appeal for commodities has been enthusiastically received by the galactic community. Hundreds of pilots contributed to the campaign by delivering commodities to Stone Enterprise in Rakapila, and by eliminating agitators in the system so traders could deliver commodities in safety.

Wow new low on the 'news'letter front. SMH Frontier...

"See how your actions in-game affected Salomé and her story."
What actions? Relatively few people actually interacted with her, and only one actually did anything.
On a side note, please don't do another "Salomé" event again, you don't know how to do a proper interactive story, and I don't want to see more development money burned and flushed down a toilet while you try and figure it out.

Bit harsh - The D in FDev = development!

Although it could have been so much better, it was the first event of its kind on E: D - I am pretty sure FDev will have learned massively from that 1 single event and will adapt as necessary.

Collectively, faction politics and economic support (follow the money) is more powerful than individual direct action, even if only one person pulls the catalysing trigger. Ask Arch Duke Ferdinand what happened next (link).

    Cheers for the newsletter.

I especially like the Mice of Mischief .. despite that rat putting what looks suspiciously like "lime" in his G&T? (heathens!)
