Could be argued to be a form of bullying.
If someone decides to get interdicted 6 times before switching to Solo/PG/make use of the block feature, he is to blame. It would be naming and shaming of the "victim". This is coming from someone who almost always argues against the PvP community...

I wouldn't want a witch hunt, just their location, because now i have a highly mod cutter. That would be good C&P too me.
Just use / start a 3rd party forum for bounty hunters.

Said "legal" concerns are a perfect example of the world going soft.

When you can sue someone for hurting your feelings...

Totally understand FD needing to cover themselves, of course, but as an example, a computer related forum I am on in Aus does not allow vendor reviews. This means we can't say if a vendor we purchase from is good or bad, because of fears of slander. It's kind of sad, and I'm sure there are some cases of people trying to stomp a vendors name into the ground because they feel hard done by, but simply allowing the vendor a response should be enough to provide a counter viewpoint.

It gets to the point where telling the truth about a shopping experience can actually get the web site itself into legal trouble. It's madness.

Maybe a special category could be made for this, that way a lot of the salt here in the dangerous discussion would transfer there

As suggested by other people, get video evidence.

You cannot disagree. You can only be silent.
But do not worry, it will not take long. I am giving max 20 years, after that if You do not want to be a part of falling europe, better move to the east.

Its not hard to manage 100k users forum, and keep discussions civil, but without political correctness crap. I owe that kind of forum since 12 years.
There are bans, there are warnings, swearing is not allowed. But allowed is saying things as they are, in straight.

We're talking about accusations being made about specific players over actions they have taken in a video game. Disallowing this does not meet any definition of political correctness that I have ever heard. As Dale made abundantly clear, this is about practical and legal concerns, and has nothing at all to do with avoiding hurt feelings or offence. Even if it was, the individuals offended would not visibly be part of any particular societal group so there's nothing political about it at all.

Or do you know all this and you just take any opportunity to spread your sinister predictions about the decline of the West? Regular Oswald Spengler over here.

Because the courts are idiots, and actually allow lawsuits for slander/libel in a video game. And it's the developer/publisher that ends up in court, because they have money that can be taken from them for imaginary hurt feelings.

Safer to not allow it, because you know some snowflake will sue, and probably end up with a jury that doesn't care as long as they can stick it to 'big business' somehow.

The funny part is that there are any number of player killers who would be delighted to have their infamy on public display. They'd take their naming and shaming as a badge of honor.
Quitting the game to play the forum full time.

Well clearly you can. I'm challenging what you said, not trying to censor it.

    It's a good rule.

Imagine a website where people could name and shame as they pleased or even collect lists of CMDR's to KOS, requiring no evidence or quality control and being run by some players who got caught exploiting the 5-1 cheat. Sounds like a terrible easily exploited idea doesn't it.

Just like the reddit cloggers page.

Lol, since when are Frontier Developments 'big business?' But anyway, it probably wouldn't even get that far. FD wouldn't probably just settle straight away as it might well be cheaper than going to court even if they eventually won.

Would it count as "naming and shaming" if one were to simply post the list of top names from the bounties listed at Shajin Market in Kamadhenu?
