You may not like it, but CR personally already won: he doesnt have pre-order debt, his company does.

Its a bit weird to maintain this 'CR is screwed, and DS is just trolling for fun!' when in reality CR is sipping cocktails on a tropical beach while DS writes huge blogs from his basement.

CIG predicted we'd land on moons, and be able to leave our ships and walk into bases. DS said it couldnt be done. Which is his default response to anyone trying anything. Nothing to do with 'vilification', the dude simply was wrong. As he was wrong about ED. As he was wrong about NMS. As he was wrong about his own games every time.

Interesting question: who is more wrong, CR about SC or DS about LoD?
or which game would you rather play now 3000AD or SC now there is a head scratch-er

Delays are normal and perfectly acceptable, when announced in conjunction with a new release estimate. ED was delayed, but we were kept in the picture.

The CIG version of give a date miss a date, after claiming more money will increase development speed. Then refuse to give new dates and blame that on backers giving them grief for missing dates isn't normal. Neither are the claims they were days away from a vertical slice followed by a year of silence. The fact is they've made so little progress they just don't know or it's so distant they are scared to admit it, so they can't give estimates and rely on talking rubbish about pipelines and saying this year things will come together (every year).

It turns out many of them manipulate the system....they use hacks to enter an offline mode, they log on and on and on until they get an empty server, they log in early in the day, they edit and splice their videos to make it seem like the problems don't exist....and so on. It isn't like they tried to hide it....some of them openly admit to it.
And lately its more easy to do, because not many are left that are playing SC at all - even a lot of hardcore SC streamers are playing other games...
So you can get empty server more easily to make that SC dream video...

Perhaps you picked the wrong context?

What was talked about was what is an acceptable delay for a game release.

Keeping budget, drama and opinions about the different developers, their reasoning for WHY they delay their releases are very similar.

We at Warhorse Studios decided to postpone the final release date for Kingdom Come: Deliverance to achieve the quality we and our players expect. We want Kingdom Come: Deliverance to be an exceptional RPG and that requires exceptional treatment and polishing
So Warhorse was about 3 years late (Dec 2015 and release Jan 2018) while CIG is a little more behind (Dec 2014 and release 2018???) and is now in at their 4th year.

Sure. Except one did and delivered, the other is far from polishing phase as many foundations have yet to be done. So yes, same reasoning, different execution though. And different workload (done and to be done), and different vision™ of honesty and transparency.

A peace Nobel price and one yellow haired clown can both send "prayers and condolences", I don't think both can be equally trusted.

Who can sanely think it'll release in 2018?!
