    Community Goal Decals

    Hello everyone,

    We’re excited to announce that we are going to be implementing a new reward for participating in Community Goals this week: decals!

    In this week’s upcoming Community Goals, commanders will be competitively pitted against one another, siding with one of the factions fighting for dominance over a specific system.

    In similar fashion to previous Conflict Zone Community Goals, players will need to reach specific victory tiers to achieve victory for their chosen side. The losing side will walk away with credits and reputation (based on the tier they achieve), but the victors will seize the Conflict Zone Decal reward (in addition to credits and reputation based on the percentile each player reached.)

    The contribution percentiles required to receive the decal (in this week’s Community Goal) are as follows:
    • Top 10% - Gold Decal, Credits and Reputation (and other lower percentile decals)
    • Top 25% - Silver Decal, Credits and Reputation (and other lower percentile decals)
    • Top 50% - Bronze Decal, Credits and Reputation (and other lower percentile decals)
    • Top 75% - Standard Decal, Credits and Reputation
    • Below – Credits and Reputation

    There are a couple more details to make you aware of:

    While this week’s Community Goal is competitive in nature, with only the winning side unlocking the decal, other Community Goal types such as trade will unlock the decal for everyone (as long as they reach the percentiles above) as those are purely co-operative.

    While we have given out specific decals for specific Community Goals before, this marks the start of a system that allows us to give them on a more regular basis. However, not every Community Goal will feature a decal reward, but it is something we can now reward players with, in certain Community Goals.

    The Community Goal chosen to deliver a decal will be at Frontier’s discretion. We have many variants of decals for different community goal types, from trading to mining, combat and salvage.

    It’s worth noting that these decals are not unique to this week’s Community Goal, and there will be more opportunities for Commanders to get their hands on them in future Conflict Zone-focused Community Goals! We are also seeking to implement more Community Goal-related decals as time goes on so that we can offer a wider variety and keep the rewards feeling fresh.

    Decal rewards will also only be available as rewards for Frontier Community Goals and not player-submitted ones (this does not include decals from planned community events and community team arranged goals).

    We hope that you like this addition to the community goals and have fun taking part.

    Very nice to see a long time requested feature being implemented.

    Could you guys say how often would these type of rewards be offered? And are there plans for offering these type of rewards for missions as well?

    I'd be more interested to know whether it will always be just decals.

    Hi,

    Happy to bring this to you guys.
    Regarding how often we will have a decal as a reward, we will be looking at the CG schedule and see where we can best fit these in.
    At the moment we are thinking once a month to start with. This gives room for player CGs and other things.

    We will be keeping an eye on it and seeing how we feel it works best.

    What happens if a pilot submits bonds to both sides? Instant guaranteed decal?

    Hi Harakan,

    We have put the unlocking of the Decals at 75% and above contribution so that you guys have to make a decent contribution to the CG to get a decal.

    If someone puts in the effort to submit enough Combat bonds to reach the 75% on both CGs then they will get a decal no matter who wins the CG.
    For other CG types anyone who contributes at the required precentile will receive a decal.

    Good stuff Will & team! CGs are always a good time, and the ability to earn decals makes participating in them even better.

    Now to chase that gold decal....

    Cool! It'll be interesting to see how many people switch allegiance to the currently winning side in the closing days/hours of the CG in order to get the decal and at what point during the week that snowballing effect starts to kick in. Or have I missed something?

    This is a reall neat idea Frontier. Thanks for doing this. I look forward to the first trade CG that offers a new decal!

    That took quite a while after Bast

    Very cool.

    How a bout a way to put tiny decals close to the cockpit (maybe just for the CG decals)? Basically a "kill count" for CG successes
    Just trying to give you more ideas


    (OK, now where is my Bast decal? Just kidding. No seriously, where is it )

    Nice!

    On a related note - there have been a couple of Colonia CGs which had extra construction as their objective where the construction hasn't yet been constructed.

    Back in December the "Colonia Exodus" CG said "We have therefore made plans to establish a number of new outposts throughout Colonia, to support our new neighbours."
    Then earlier this month the "Protecting Colonia" CG said "authorities in Colonia have decided to step up security by building a new security installation in the region"

    Normally the new construction is in place faster than this - I realise it's been a busy time with Christmas and then the whole 3.0 release cycle, but could you give us an indication of when to expect these to show up, please?
