That is the key - the prime example is finding a system in "Outbreak" and trucking-in Basic Medicines for loadsamoney.

Another consistently profitable trade activity is hauling Imperial Slaves - you can find single-hop routes with good profit on the imps and a decent return cargo to boot.

2.4 billion. That's about 10 free Hutton Anacondas, right?

How much? I'll loan you my 9 million if you think it'll help.

As I parked "Daffofil" on the surface of a volcanic moon last night, watching the glory of it's parent ringed gas-giant ascend majestically above the horizon, I looked at my 4.5 Mcr balance, and thought "I'm doing really well!!"

(Mind you, when I get back from this trip out into the unknown, I think the balance might be going a tad higher than that. )

I’m not too bothered about things like the skimmer mission exploit from a while back but is it usually making the most of a programming glitch or dev oversight that gives these high rewards or can it simply be finding a good system in a specific state, repping up and taking missions and or trading in commodities that are required by a system that is in that specific state?

I’m probably a bit too much mission-centric in terms of earnings as I haven’t really got to grips with effective trading just yet.

Edit: kind of ninja’d above...or just answered
You need to find the right system. Its state isn't so important, but you do need to get repped up to get the best rewards. Obviously, there's no point in doing that if they don't give the right missions.

The thing you need most is cunning and intelligence to figure out how to do the missions efficiently. That doesn't mean it's an exploit. You just do what's asked in an efficient way. I wouldn't say that these things are programming glitches either. Sure the devs weren't expecting you to make as much money, but when they plan things, they're limited by their own imagination and intelligence. A group of thousands will always be able to outsmart them when they put their collective thinking together, and so will an individual who either gets lucky, spends more time working on a particular problem than the devs, or has a better imagination/intelligence. It's no different to PvP combat, where some people figure out a ship build that will destroy others easily that nobody thought of before.

I think I saw you the other day. Did you see me? I was the guy in the gold Corvette wearing sunglasses and driving with my elbow out the window. We had just had a champagne party on my ship and there were a few cake crumbs left over. I was going to ask if you wanted them, but when I called you there was no reply. Maybe you were asleep at the time.

Pick one, work it till you got the cr's you "NEED" or want. If your not making enough cr's fast enough, find another system, suggestions here if there any good will get nerfed. Besides what was good today at one location may not be good the next day at the same location. Things change, thus one has to be ready willing and able to change also.

Personally, I made billions hauling nothing but passenger's and occasional data deliveries if and when they were going to one of my destinations. I'd fill my Python as full as I could with passenger's and upon delivering one or more, pick up one or more and get on to the next stop.

Though I played more per day than most helped dramatically, by in large, passenger's which are point to point, not sight seer's is a great way to make cr's the fastest. Yes, it's a grind, but then what isn't?

That was you? I thought I heard something outside, but it was dark and I'd just put the lights off for the night and put the cat out. I would have appreciated the crumbs though; knock more loudly next time, and I'll get back up and be more sociable.

Cmdr Nemo, I also find that you run across some most interesting, beautiful systems doing passenger missions the way you do them. You can cover a lot of space that way and find many systems that haven't been explored completely as yet. The last time I did a couple hours of passenger missions, I found myself over 100 Ly's from home and didn't even realize it. Love it.

OP, just go and mine your way to a fortune.

It's slow, but that way you can volley forth mountains of self-righteous bile upon those who dare do anything that resembles an "exploit".

    What an image.

2.4 BILLION? Wow LOL.... been playing since Alpha and don't even have 1 billion yet - even if I add in my other 2 commanders' totals!

You can make 2.4 billion in a single day in the present version of the game.
