    Federal Corvette build

    Hi

I want to ask if this build is good for Federal Corvette

    Thanks and good flying.

Possibly a bit of engineering on that power distributor.
    What you using it for?

    Looks pretty good for pve.

Pve, is just a preview what i want to do when i buy the corvete, i only reach rear admiral today, now im making credits with exploration.
Offcourse im gonna have a lot of work with engineers to get what i want with this build. and im not fitting all i want because of the space, i want collectors limpets 1 cargo rack and a fighter hangar, but for that i have to sacrifice the shield cells or hull reinforcement, and i want the ship with good defence.

    Good to go for PvE.
I mention engineering the PD just for the beams.
I see the KWS and ADScanner, +rep for that.
I also recommend a visit to the Rear Admirals Lounge, Corvette specialists. I got loads of great advice from them.

IMO the Corvette isn't that great in PvP against good pilots that are in the medium ships like the FDL, FAS and Chieftain. They won't kill you if you're shield tanking but you won't kill them either unless you can long range laser them. Now for PvE the Corvette is king.

B grade shield banks will give you an extra unit which although slightly less in capacity than the A grade actually results in more overall points to replenish your shields.

You might find this interesting; https://youtu.be/jbEa_Eqijyw

If you want to aim for balanced resistances for the hull, I'd go with thermal mod on the reactive armor, supplemented by heavy duty HRPs (which you already have) to up the resistance to about 50% each at least.
The usual engineering: Dirty drives, charge enhanced PD.
8A sensors weight 160 tons, maybe either put a lightweight mod on them or use 8D ones, less mass means more speed an better maneuverability.
As others already said, B-grade SCBs get one more use for less MJ each. I use the trusty double-SCB method where you fire two SCBs at once complemented by a heatsink to keep the ship from melting (I only have two 7B SCB banks and two sink lauchers on my corvette though).
How about putting a fighter hangar on one of the size 6 slots? It's a nice change of pace to jump into the cockpit of one of those, and an NPC pilot can be a great help sometimes.
Your shields are purely focused on strength and not on resistances, so you're vulnerable against thermal weapons which make up the bulk of any NPCs armament. I'd suggest putting a thermal resistance mod on the main generator and resistance augmented on two SBs.
The weapons loadout is purely up to preference. Personally I didn't like the massive powerdraw of the huge, even efficient, beams (since I had to sacrifice systems pips to keep the weapons capacitor from draining too fast), so I use MCs in those slots and beams in the other ones, but other people swear on a full beam build. Either way, an engineered Corvette obliterates anything in its path.

Corvette is too large for Chaff, suggest another Shield Booster or Heat Sink.
It might get toasty when you fire the SCBs.

Too large for chaff? Is that a thing?

Yep. The vast majority of times enemies will be firing at you at close enough range that most of their shots will hit a big ship even if its using chaff. The only situation where it would be useful is if any enemy ship (npc or player) decided not to get closer than a few kilometers, and that just doesn't happen (unless a cmdr is trying to snipe you with fixed long range weapons, in which case chaff is useless anyway).

DTEA put a PVE build on Youtube very recently ill see if I can find it...
Incase all this text is to boring...

    His video...
This will be the end goal..After you get all the money and engineering done first to build it...

No module reinforcements and pitiful armour. First time OP waits too long to hit the cell banks he's gonna get rammed by an npc gunship or conda, lose the shields entirely, and then he might be lookin at a rebuy depending on how many npcs he's fighting at once. I'd rip out every optional internal thats not shields, cell banks or HRPs, and replace them with 2 MRPs and everything else heavy duty HRPs until OP is familiar with how much punishment a corvette can take.

Sheesh, OP's gonna be having second thoughts about the Corvette at this rate!
(I'm on number 2, third is in the planning stage)

Hull tank for life and the only times you'll ever die are when you choose not to run away.
