It still holds up though, and having a true dynamic campaign in a sci-fi game would be fantastic.

(I still play Falcon 4.0 to this day, although heavily modified by BMS)

You mean Descent 3? Cuz Overload basically is Descent 4.

Wouldn't Descent Underground be Descent 4?

I recommend this game, some of you may have heard of it, or even played it.

They have the rights to the name, but Descent Underground is trying to be something quite a bit different. Overload sticks to the original formula. If you enjoyed any of Descent 1-3, definitely check it out. There's even a playable demo.

I bought Descent Underground when it was Early Access on Steam, because it's VR compatible and I was feeling nostalgic as I played the first two Descent games on release. I can't access the Overload page from here (work,) does it support VR?

Shows a lot of promise, but after giving it a try, I'd recommend waiting for it to get out of Early Access.

While waiting for that to happen, you could give Oolite a try.
It's free and moddable (beware, the pull of 'dark side' is strong!).
